Claims (17)
- 可撓性医療用品を形成する方法において、前記方法は、
ポリカーボネートウレタンコポリマーを押し出して、前記医療用品のチューブ状部材を形成するステップと;
前記医療用品のチューブ状部材をアニールして、前記チューブ状部材の可撓性を高めるステップと;
前記チューブ状部材の第1の端部にハブを結合するステップと;
前記チューブ状部材の第2の端部を先端に形成するステップと;
を備えることを特徴とする、可撓性医療用品を形成する方法。 - アニールが、およそ摂氏120℃で約1時間、前記医療用品のチューブ状部材をアニールするステップを備えることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 熱に曝されると剛性が低下するという特性を有するコポリマーが選択されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記チューブ状部材を形成するステップは、前記押し出したポリカーボネートウレタンコポリマーを切断してセグメントにするステップをさらに備えることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記医療用品のチューブ状部材の第1の端部をフレアにし、それによって前記第1の端部が前記医療用品のハブに結合するように構成されるステップをさらに備えることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記医療用品のチューブ状部材の第1の端部を前記ハブにオーバーモールドするステップをさらに備えることを特徴とする、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 少なくとも一つの管腔を有する可撓性中空軸を備える医療用品において、前記軸は以下の工程によって形成され、前記工程は、
ポリカーボネートウレタンコポリマーを押し出して、少なくとも前記医療用品の前記中空軸を形成するステップと;
前記中空軸をアニールして前記中空軸の可撓性を高めるステップと;
前記中空軸の第1の端部にハブを結合するステップと;
前記中空軸の第2の端部を先端に形成するステップと;
を備えることを特徴とする、少なくとも一つの管腔を有する可撓性中空軸を備える医療用品。 - アニールが、およそ摂氏120℃で約1時間、前記医療用品の前記中空軸をアニールするステップを備えることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の医療用品。
- 前記中空軸が、捩れることなく約120度まで曲げることが出来るように充分にアニールされることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の医療用品。
- 前記コポリマーが2068kPaまでの圧力に耐え得ることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の医療用品。
- 前記コポリマーが130ml/分までの流量に耐え得ることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の医療用品。
- 前記コポリマーが熱に曝されると可撓性が増大することを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の医療用品。
- 針軸および針ハブを有する針と、拡張器軸および拡張器ハブを有する拡張器と、ガイドワイヤとをさらに備え、前記拡張器軸は、前記針ハブと前記拡張器ハブとが並んだ状態で前記針軸上に同軸に配置され、前記ガイドワイヤは前記針内に少なくとも部分的に配置され、前記軸は、前記ハブと前記拡張器ハブとが並んだ状態で前記拡張器軸に同軸に配置されることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の医療用品。
- 前記針ハブが移動する通路をさらに備え、前記通路が前記拡張器ハブに装着されることを特徴とする、請求項13に記載の医療用品。
- アニールされたポリカーボネートウレタンコポリマーを含む可撓性軸を有する医療用品を使用する方法において、前記方法が、ガイドワイヤ上で前記軸を血管に挿入するステップと、前記ガイドワイヤを引き抜くステップと、皮膚にほぼ平行に位置するように前記軸を曲げるステップと、前記軸を捩ることなく曲げ位置に保持するステップと、を備えることを特徴とする、アニールされたウレタンポリカーボネートを含む可撓性軸を有する医療用品を使用する方法。
- 前記医療用品の中空軸の第1の端部をフレアにし、それによって前記第1の端部が前記医療用品のハブに結合するように構成されるステップをさらに備えることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の医療用品。
- 前記医療用品の中空軸の第1の端部を前記ハブにオーバーモールドするステップをさらに備えることを特徴とする、請求項16に記載の医療用品。
