Abstract
Description
1つの態様において、本発明は、ガスおよび臭気バリア特性を示す多層フィルムに関し、雑音減衰性(noise−dampening)ポリマー樹脂と、約40から80重量パーセントのポリグリコール酸樹脂とのブレンドを含む少なくとも1つのガスバリア層を有するフィルムに特に関する。本発明の実施形態によるフィルムは、73°Fおよび100%の相対湿度で60cc/m2・day・atm未満の酸素透過率、ならびに40℃で約2.5×E+09ダイン/cm2未満の貯蔵モジュラスを有することができる。特に、本発明のフィルムは、所望のガス/臭気バリア特性を有し、ならびに本発明の実施形態による多層フィルムから形成されるパウチを使用する個人の体温範囲内である温度範囲で所望の軟らかさ(例えば、貯蔵モジュラス)を有する。好ましくは、本発明の多層フィルムは塩素も含まない。その結果、本発明のフィルムは、有利には、優れたガス/臭気バリア特性を提供し、および正常な体温で軽減された音の発生レベルを提供する。したがってそのようなフィルムは、オストミー用パウチなどの医療用途に特に適している。本発明の実施形態によるフィルムの医療用途の例としては、医療溶液のパッケージ、オストミー、人工肛門形成、人工膀胱形成用のパウチなどのヒト排泄物の収集が含まれる。
E*=E’+iE”
に関係し、ここで、E’は貯蔵モジュラスを表し、E”は損失モジュラスを表す。このように、検出されたモジュラスは、貯蔵モジュラス(E’)と損失モジュラス(E”)の2つの数量に分けられる。貯蔵モジュラスは、成形時の貯蔵エネルギーの測度であり、損失モジュラスは損失エネルギーの測度である。すなわち、貯蔵モジュラスは堅さに関係し、損失モジュラスは減衰およびエネルギー散逸に関係する。本発明の実施形態によるフィルムは、有利には、フィルムが容易に折り畳まれる、巻かれるおよびしわだらけにされることができるように、比較的低い貯蔵モジュラスを有することができる。この取扱の容易さは、例えば医療パウチ(例えば、オストミー用バッグ)に使用されるときに低い発生レベルの(例えば、あったとしてもほとんど検知不能な)音につながる。
下記の表1は、ポリグリコール酸樹脂とエチレンビニルアセテートのブレンドを含む2つのガスバリア層を組み込んだ9つの異なる多層フィルムの構造を示す。特に、層4および6はガスバリア層を含む。
下記の表4は、それぞれ5つの層を有する異なる多層フィルムの構造を示す。表4のそれぞれのフィルムは、ポリグリコール酸樹脂とエチレンビニルアセテートのブレンドを含む単一のガスバリア層を組み込む。特に、層3はガスバリア層を含む。表4は、それぞれのフィルムに関連する定常状態OTRも提供する。OTR値を得る試験条件は、実施例セット1と同じであった(例えば、73°Fおよび100%相対湿度)。明確に示されてはいないが、これらの特定のフィルムの時間の関数としてのOTR値は、上記の表3の13−15日と類似している。
下記の表6は、6つの異なる多層フィルムの構造を示し、そのうちの5つは、ポリグリコール酸樹脂とエチレンビニルアセテートのブレンドを含む単一のガスバリア層を組み込む。特に、表6のフィルム2−6の層3は、ガスバリア層を含む。これらのフィルムのOTR値を図2に例示し、図2は多層フィルムの性能に対するPGA含有量の影響を図示する。
ガスバリア特性
上記の実施例により例示されたように、少なくとも35重量%または40重量%のポリグリコール酸を有するガスバリア層を含むフィルムは、特にオストミー用途のために望ましいレベルのガスバリア特性を提供する。例えば、そのようなフィルムは、Sealed Air(USA)から入手可能なNEXCEL MFフィルム(MF513/MF514)などの伝統的なPVDCに基づくフィルムと類似した(幾つかの場合ではより良好な)より良好なガスのブロッキングを提供する。したがって本発明のフィルムは、有利には、塩素に基づく成分を使用することなく、オストミー用途のための優れたガス/臭気バリア特性および通常の体温で、軽減された放射雑音レベルを提供する。したがってそのようなフィルムは、オストミー用パウチなどの医療用途に特に適している。
上記の実施例のフィルムは、音の発生レベルを定量化する手段として貯蔵モジュラスについても評価した。上記の実施例は、本発明のフィルムが、所望のガス/臭気バリア特性を有するのみならず、本発明の実施形態による多層フィルムから形成されるパウチを使用する個人の体温範囲内である温度範囲で所望の軟らかさ/柔軟性(例えば、貯蔵モジュラス)も示すことを例示している。例えば、そのようなフィルムは、多層フィルムから形成されるパウチを使用する個人の体温範囲内である温度範囲内(例えば、35−40℃)で伝統的なPVDCに基づくフィルム(例えば、Sealed Air(USA)から入手可能なNEXCEL MFフィルム(MF513/MF514))と類似した(幾つかの場合ではより良好な)より良好なガスのブロッキングを一般に提供する。
本発明の実施形態による1つ以上のガスバリアを含むフィルムの光学特性も調査した。下記の表8に示されているように、ポリグリコール酸に基づくガスバリアを含むフィルムは、予想外なことに優れた総光透過および曇り%も提供した。
Claims (24)
- 雑音減衰ポリマー樹脂と約40から80重量パーセントのポリグリコール酸樹脂とのブレンドを含む少なくとも1つのガスバリア層を含み、73°Fおよび100%相対湿度で60cc/m2・day・atm未満の酸素透過率を有する、多層フィルム。
- 40℃で約2.5×E+09ダイン/cm2未満の貯蔵モジュラスを有する、請求項1に記載のフィルム。
- 40℃で約1.3−2.3×E+09ダイン/cm2の間の貯蔵モジュラスを有する、請求項1に記載のフィルム。
- 少なくとも1つのガスバリア層が2つの外側層の間に配置されている、請求項1に記載のフィルム。
- 雑音減衰ポリマー樹脂が改質エチレンビニルアセテート(EVA)を含む、請求項1に記載のフィルム。
- 雑音減衰ポリマー樹脂が、無水マレイン酸でグラフトされたEVAを含む、請求項5に記載のフィルム。
- EVAが、約5から35%のビニルアセテート(VA)含有量を含む、請求項6に記載のフィルム。
- 少なくとも1つのガスバリア層を2つ含み、少なくとも2つのガスバリア層が、フィルムの内側層である、請求項1に記載のフィルム。
- 少なくとも1つのガスバリア層が外部の水供給源から保護されるように、少なくとも1つのガスバリア層に対して位置している2つ以上の水バリア層を含む、請求項1に記載のフィルム。
- 塩素を含まない、請求項1に記載のフィルム。
- 2つの外側層および外側層の間に配置されている内側ガスバリア層を含み、ガスバリア層が、約40から80重量パーセントのポリグリコール酸樹脂および雑音減衰ポリマー樹脂を含む、フィルム。
- 雑音減衰ポリマー樹脂が、5から20%のビニルアセテート(VA)含有量を有するエチレンビニルアセテート(EVA)を含み、EVAが無水マレイン酸でグラフトされている、請求項11に記載のフィルム。
- 40℃で約2.5×E+09ダイン/cm2未満の貯蔵モジュラスを有する、請求項12に記載のフィルム。
- 40℃で約1.3−2.3×E+09ダイン/cm2の間の貯蔵モジュラスを有する、請求項12に記載のフィルム。
- 請求項11に記載のフィルムから形成される、医療溶液をパッケージおよび投与するためのパウチ。
