Abstract
Description
次に、実施形態及び変形例で説明した画像表示装置1の適用例について説明する。実施形態及び変形例に係る画像表示装置1は、カーナビゲーション装置、テレビジョン装置、デジタルカメラ、ノート型パーソナルコンピュータ、携帯電話、携帯用ゲーム機等の携帯端末装置あるいはビデオカメラなどのあらゆる分野の電子機器に適用することが可能である。言い換えると、実施形態及び変形例に係る画像表示装置1は、外部から入力された映像信号あるいは内部で生成した映像信号を、画像あるいは映像として表示するあらゆる分野の電子機器に適用することが可能である。

Claims (8)
- 透明基板である第1基板と、
前記第1基板と対向する透明基板である第2基板と、
前記第1基板と前記第2基板との間に設けられた液晶分子を含む液晶層と、
前記第1基板の前記液晶層側の表面に前記液晶分子を配向させる配向膜と、
前記第1基板の前記配向膜上に設けられた柱状スペーサと、を含み、
前記配向膜は、前記柱状スペーサと重なっている部分の少なくとも一部に配向処理が行われていない部分を有する液晶装置。 - 前記配向処理は、光配向処理である請求項1に記載の液晶装置。
- 前記配向処理は、ラビング処理である請求項1に記載の液晶装置。
- 前記柱状スペーサは、高さと幅との関係が、0.5≦高さ/幅≦5である請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の液晶装置。
- 前記第1基板の前記液晶層側の表面に形成されたストライプ形状の第1電極と、
前記第2基板の前記液晶層側の表面に形成された第2電極と、
前記第1電極と前記第2電極との間に印加される電圧により前記液晶層の液晶分子の配向方向を変化させることで屈折率が変化する複数のレンズ列と、
を含む請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の液晶装置。 - 請求項1から請求項5のいずれか1項に記載の液晶装置を備えた電子機器。
- 透明基板である第1基板と、前記第1基板と対向する透明基板である第2基板と、前記第1基板と前記第2基板との間に設けられた液晶分子を含む液晶層と、前記第1基板の前記液晶層側の表面に前記液晶分子を配向させる配向膜と、前記第1基板の配向膜上に設けられたスペーサと、を含む液晶装置を製造する液晶装置製造方法であって、
配向膜となる膜を前記第1基板の上に形成する工程と、
前記配向膜の上に柱状スペーサを形成する工程と、
前記柱状スペーサが形成された前記配向膜に配向処理を行う工程と、を有する液晶装置製造方法。 - 前記柱状スペーサを形成する工程は、エッチングにより前記柱状スペーサを形成する請求項7に記載の液晶装置製造方法。
