Abstract
Description
本発明は、ミクロフィブリル化セルロースとナノ粒子を含有する分散体(dispersion)を製造する方法に関する。本発明は更に、その製法に従って製造された分散体、前記分散体を含有するコーティングで被覆された紙または板製品(paper or board product)、及び前記分散体から製造された紙または板製品、並びに前記分散体を含有する複合体(composite)に関する。本発明によって、ナノ粒子とミクロフィブリル化セルロースを含有する非常に安定な分散体を製造することができる。
紙または板製品の製造時に、紙や板の仕上げ(furnish)または形成された紙または板製品の表面のいずれかにナノ粒子を添加したいという要望があることが多い。ナノ粒子は、多くの場合、製造コストを低減するために、および/または完成された紙または板製品の印刷特性などの特性を改善するために添加される。
本発明の目的は、ナノ粒子を含有する安定な分散体を製造することが可能な、非常に効率的でかつ安全な方法を提供することである。
前処理されたセルロース繊維を含有するスラリーを準備すること、
該スラリーにナノ粒子を添加すること、及び
ミクロフィブリル化セルロースを含有する分散体(その中で、ナノ粒子がミクロフィブリル化セルロースの表面および/または内部に吸収されている(absorbed))が形成されるように、機械的崩壊(mechanical disintegration)によって該スラリーを処理すること。
前処理されたセルロース繊維およびナノ粒子を含有するスラリーを機械的崩壊によって処理することによって、粉塵の問題の減少のような他の改善された特性を備えると同時に、はるかにより安定な分散体を製造することが可能である。
本発明は、ナノ粒子がミクロフィブリル化セルロースの表面上又は内部に吸収されている、ナノ粒子とミクロフィブリル化セルロースを含有する分散体を製造する方法に関する。その分散体は、前処理されたセルロース繊維とナノ粒子とを含有するスラリーを、機械的崩壊によって、好ましくは圧力式ホモジナイザー中で、処理することによって製造される。これによって、ナノ粒子がホモジナイズされて、ナノ粒子凝集体を生成することを回避すると同時に、開放表面(open surface)の量が多いミクロフィブリル化セルロースが生成されることが確実になる。生成したミクロフィブリル化セルロースの開放表面の量を増加させること、及び、ナノ粒子がナノ凝集体を生成することを回避することの両方によって、ナノ粒子をミクロフィブリル化セルロースの開放表面に多量に吸収することが可能である。ナノ粒子および前処理されたセルロース繊維を含有するスラリーを圧力式ホモジナイザー中で処理することによって、ナノ粒子は、MFCの表面上だけでなく、MFCの内部に吸収されることが示されている。このようにして、製造された分散体は非常に安定となり、ナノ凝集体の生成がより少なくなる。安定性が増加することによって、その分散体は取り扱いが容易になり、簡単な方法でさまざまな場所に分散体を輸送することができる。
日焼けローションにおける成分として、
洗浄及び衛生製品中の成分として、
プラスチック、スポーツ用品及び携帯電話などのナノ材料強化複合材料を含有する製品において、
難燃用途において、
摩擦低減を付与するために、
例えば、清浄な表面、濾紙、敏感製品(sensitive products)用パッケージのための、抗菌性複合体として、
例えば電池、一時電子回路(one time electronics)のための導電性又は非導電性の表面において、
自浄表面において、
太陽パネル(sunpanels)のために、
および/または、導電性印刷インク中の成分として、使用できる。
前処理された繊維(酵素的に前処理された)とベントナイトナノ粒子とを50:50の比率で含む混合物を含有するスラリー。その酵素は、セルラーゼ酵素であり、より具体的にはエンドグルカナーゼ(EGII)であった。そのスラリーの乾燥含量は6重量%であった。そのスラリーは、1500バール(150MPa)の圧力で、マイクロフルイダイザー中で圧力ホモジナイズした。
Claims (18)
- 以下の工程を含む、ミクロフィブリル化セルロースおよびナノ粒子を含有する分散体を製造する方法:
− 前処理されたセルロース繊維を含有するスラリーを準備すること、
− 該スラリーにナノ粒子を添加すること、及び
− ナノ粒子がミクロフィブリル化セルロースの表面および/または内部に吸収された、ミクロフィブリル化セルロースを含有する分散体が形成されるように、機械的崩壊によって該スラリーを処理すること。 - 機械的崩壊が、圧力式ホモジナイザー中で行われる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 圧力式ホモジナイザーで使用される圧力が500〜4000バール(50〜400MPa)の間である請求項2に記載の方法。
- ナノ粒子が、ベントナイト、二酸化チタン、酸化亜鉛、銀、酸化銅、酸化鉄、シリカ、ナノ沈降炭酸カルシウム(PCC)などの炭酸カルシウム、及び/またはカーボンナノチューブ、の粒子である請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- ミクロフィブリル化セルロースとナノ粒子との比が10:90〜90:10の間である、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- ナノ粒子の大半、好ましくは少なくとも50%が、ミクロフィブリル化セルロースおよび/またはセルロースフィブリルの表面上または内部に吸収されている、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 機械的崩壊によって処理されるべきスラリーの乾燥含量が、繊維の重量で1〜30%の間である、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 機械的崩壊によって処理された後の分散体の乾燥含量が、繊維の重量で50%を超える、請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- さらに、機械的崩壊後の分散体の洗浄を含む、請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の方法に従って製造された分散体。
- 繊維の重量で50%を超える乾燥含量を有する、請求項10に記載の分散体。
- ナノ粒子の大半、好ましくは少なくとも50%が、ミクロフィブリル化セルロースの表面上又は内部に吸着されている、請求項10または11に記載の分散体。
- 分散体が、遊離ナノ粒子を実質的に含まない、請求項10〜12のいずれか一項に記載の分散体。
- 請求項10〜13のいずれか一項に記載の分散体を含むコーティング層を含む紙または板製品。
- コーティング層がベントナイトナノ粒子およびMFCを含み、そのコーティング層が紙または板紙の表面にグリースに対するバリアを形成する、請求項14に記載の紙または板製品。
- 前記コーティングが、紙又は板紙の表面にバリアを形成するポリマーをさらに含有する、請求項14または15に記載の紙または板紙製品。
- 請求項10〜13のいずれか一項に記載の分散体から製造される紙または板。
- 請求項10〜13のいずれか一項に記載の分散体を含む複合体。
