Abstract
Description
一般に、拡散孔は、カテーテル先端の開口部の表面積を増大させ、それによって、カテーテル先端の開口での流体圧力を減少させる。しかしながら、カテーテルの先端又はその付近に拡散孔を追加することはまた、カテーテルの座屈抵抗を減少させ、それによって、カテーテル先端が挿入中に圧搾の影響をより受けやすくする。その結果、拡散孔の追加は、カテーテル挿入の失敗及び患者への肉体的苦痛に帰するかもしれない。また、拡散孔の追加は、カテーテルが挿入される患者の皮膚及び/又は静脈の開口部にひっかかる又は捕らえられる、カテーテルに非連続的な外表面をもたらす。これもまた、患者への失敗したカテーテル法、身体的な痛み及び/又は身体的な損傷を与える恐れがある。
静脈内カテーテル220は、一般に、当該技術分野で一般に使用される可撓性又は半可撓性の生体適合性材料からなる。ある実施形態では、静脈内カテーテル220は、例えば、ポリプロピレン、ポリスチレン、ポリ塩化ビニル、ポリテトラフルオロエチレンなどの高分子材料からなる。他の実施形態では、静脈内カテーテル220は、外科用スチール、チタン、コバルト鋼等の金属材料からなる。
本明細書に記載されている流れ破壊特徴部の例は、少なくとも、内向き突起、くさび形延長部、細長い拡散孔の幾何学的形状、及び他の流体噴流との衝突をもたらす拡散孔軸線配向を含む。例えば、ある実施形態において、拡散孔は、内向き突起を含み、別の孔のそれと衝突する軸線配向を有している。さらに、ある実施形態において、拡散孔は、楔延長部をさらに含んでいる。他の実施形態では、流れ破壊特徴部の他の組み合わせが、より害の少ない、より有効なカテーテル拡散孔及び拡散孔配列構成を提供するために組み合わされている。
他の実施形態では、凹部288が複数の長手方向の凹部を備え、各長手方向の凹部の一部が突起部でもって交差され、それによって各長手方向の凹部を二つ以上の区分に分けている。
Claims (20)
- 外表面、基端部、末端部、当該基端部と末端部との間に延在する管腔、及び末端管腔開口部を有する、カテーテル本体、
当該カテーテル本体の当該外表面に形成された凹部、及び
当該凹部内に位置された孔であって、当該カテーテル本体の壁の厚みを貫通して、当該管腔と流体連通して形成されている孔、
を備えることを特徴とする末梢カテーテル。 - 当該孔は、複数の孔を備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の末梢カテーテル。
- さらに複数の凹部を備え、当該凹部の各々は、少なくとも1つの孔を備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の末梢カテーテル。
- 当該凹部は、当該カテーテル本体の当該孔と外表面との間に介在された面取り面を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の末梢カテーテル。
- さらに、当該面取り面上に位置された流れ破壊特徴部を備えることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の末梢カテーテル。
- 当該流れ破壊特徴部は、流れ攪乱体を含むことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の末梢カテーテル。
- 当該流れ攪乱体は、内側突起であることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の末梢カテーテル。
- 当該孔の孔角度は、当該管腔の内壁面に対して斜めであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の末梢カテーテル。
- ひっかかりにくい通気末梢カテーテルの製造方法であって、
当該方法は、
外表面、基端部、末端部、基端部と末端部との間に延びる管腔、及び末端管腔開口部を有するカテーテル本体を提供し、
当該カテーテル本体の外表面に凹部を設け、そして
当該凹部内に、孔であって、当該カテーテル本体の壁の厚みを貫通して、当該管腔と流体連通して形成されている孔を設けることを含むことを特徴とする方法。 - さらに、当該凹部内に複数の孔を設けるステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項9に記載の方法。
- さらに、複数の凹部を設けるステップを含み、当該凹部の各々は、少なくとも1つの孔を含むことを特徴とする請求項9に記載の方法。
- さらに、当該カテーテル本体の当該孔と当該外表面との間に流れ破壊特徴部を介在させるステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項9に記載の方法。
- 当該流れ破壊特徴部は、当該孔と当該カテーテル本体の外表面との間に介在された面取り面の一部を含むことを特徴とする請求項12に記載の方法。
- 当該流れ破壊特徴部は、流れ攪乱体を含むことを特徴とする請求項12に記載の方法。
- 当該流れ攪乱体は、内側突起であることを特徴とする請求項12に記載の方法。
- 当該孔の孔角度は、当該管腔の内壁面に対して斜めであることを特徴とする請求項9に記載の方法。
- 所定の壁の厚さのカテーテル本体であって、当該カテーテル本体部材は、基端部、末端部、当該基端部と末端部との間に延在する管腔、及び末端管腔開口を有し、さらに患者の末梢静脈にアクセスするのに十分な截頭長さを有するカテーテル本体、
当該カテーテル本体の壁の厚みに形成された凹部、及び
当該凹部内に位置された孔であって、カテーテル本体の壁の厚みを貫通して、当該管腔と連通して形成されている孔、
を備えることを特徴とする末梢カテーテル。 - 当該孔の外側開口の表面積は、当該孔の内側開口の表面積よりも小さいことを特徴とする請求項17に記載の末梢カテーテル。
- 当該孔の当該開口は、当該末端管腔開口の表面積よりも小さい表面積を有することを特徴とする請求項17に記載の末梢カテーテル。
- 当該孔は、当該カテーテル本体の末端部のテーパー付先端に少なくとも部分的に配置されていることを特徴とする請求項17に記載の末梢カテーテル。
