Abstract
【解決手段】外部システムから入力RGBデータを受信する受信部、入力RGBデータを入力WRGBデータに変換する変換部、入力WRGBデータを構成するW、R、G、Bデータの中、何れか一つを0に変換し、それらの総ビット数より少ないビット数を有する変換WRGBデータを生成する整列部、変換WRGBデータにダミービットを追加しWRGBデータを生成した後WRGBデータをソースドライブICに出力するEPI送信部、を含む。

Claims (10)
- 外部システムから入力RGBデータを受信するための受信部と、
前記入力RGBデータを入力WRGBデータに変換するための変換部と、
前記入力WRGBデータを構成するホワイトデータW、レッドデータR、グリーンデータG、ブルーデータBの中、何れか一つを0に変換し、前記ホワイトデータW、レッドデータR、グリーンデータG、ブルーデータBを構成する総ビット数より少ないビット数を有する変換WRGBデータを生成するための整列部と、
前記変換WRGBデータにダミービットを追加することによりWRGBデータを生成した後、前記WRGBデータをソースドライブICに出力するためのEPI送信部と、を含むタイミングコントローラー。 - 前記整列部は、
前記入力WRGBデータを構成するホワイトデータW、レッドデータR、グリーンデータG、ブルーデータBの中、何れか一つを0に変換し、その他のデータを前記変換によって新しい値に変換し、0に変換されたデータを示す位置情報を生成し、前記変換WRGBデータを生成することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のタイミングコントローラー。 - 前記整列部は、
10ビットで構成されている前記ホワイトデータW、レッドデータR、グリーンデータG、ブルーデータBの中、何れか一つを0に変換し、その他のデータを前記変換によって新しい値に変換し、0に変換されたデータを示す位置情報を2ビットで生成し、32ビットの前記変換WRGBデータを生成することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のタイミングコントローラー。 - 前記EPI送信部は、
前記32ビットの前記変換WRGBデータに4ビットを追加させて36ビットの前記WRGBデータを生成した後、前記WRGBデータを前記ソースドライブICに出力することを特徴とする、請求項3に記載のタイミングコントローラー。 - 外部システムから入力RGBデータとタイミング信号を受信する段階と、
前記入力RGBデータを入力WRGBデータに変換する段階と、
前記入力WRGBデータを構成するホワイトデータW、レッドデータR、グリーンデータG、ブルーデータBの中、何れか一つを0に変換し、前記ホワイトデータW、レッドデータR、グリーンデータG、ブルーデータBを構成する総ビット数より少ないビット数を有する変換WRGBデータを生成する段階と、
前記変換WRGBデータにダミービットを追加することによりWRGBデータを生成した後、前記WRGBデータをソースドライブICに出力する段階と、を含むタイミングコントローラー駆動方法。 - 前記入力WRGBデータを変換して前記変換WRGBデータを生成する段階は、
10ビットで構成されている前記ホワイトデータW、レッドデータR、グリーンデータ G、ブルーデータBの中、何れか一つを0に変換し、その他のデータを前記変換によって新しい値に変換し、0に変換されたデータを示す位置情報を2ビットで生成し、32ビットの前記変換WRGBデータを生成することを特徴とする、請求項5に記載のタイミングコントローラー駆動方法。 - 請求項1乃至請求項4の中、何れか一項に記載の前記タイミングコントローラーと、
データラインとゲートラインが形成されているパネルと、
前記タイミングコントローラーから伝送される前記WRGBデータをアナログのWRGB映像信号に変換して、前記データラインに出力するための少なくても一つ以上のソースドライブICと、
前記タイミングコントローラーから伝送される制御信号に応じてスキャン信号を生成して、前記ゲートラインに出力するための少なくても一つ以上のゲートドライブICと、を含む平板表示装置。 - 前記タイミングコントローラーは、
EPI方式を用いて前記WRGBデータを前記ソースドライブICに伝送することを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の平板表示装置。 - 前記タイミングコントローラーは、
前記パネルがRGBピクセル構造に形成された場合、前記WRGBデータを生成する代わりに、前記入力RGBデータをRGBデータに変換し、この変換された前記RGBデータを前記ソースドライブICに伝送し、
前記ソースドライブICは、前記RGBデータをアナログのRGB映像信号に変換して、前記データラインに出力することを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の平板表示装置。 - 前記RGBデータは、前記WRGBデータのビット数と同一なビット数を有することを特徴とする、請求項9に記載の平板表示装置。
