Abstract
Description
本出願は、2010年8月2日出願の米国仮特許出願第61/370,011号の利益を主張するものであり、この仮特許出願は、参照により本明細書に組み込まれる。
1.発明の分野
本発明は、組織を支持する医療装置および薬物送達システムに関し、より詳細には、器官を支持し、開存性を維持し、かつ/または薬物もしくは薬剤を送達するために、生きている動物または人間の身体管腔内に植え込まれる、拡張可能な装置に関する。
過去には、身体通路の開存性を維持し、かつ/または薬物もしくは薬剤を局所的に送達するために身体通路内部に植え込まれる、持続的または生物分解性の装置が開発されてきた。これらの装置は、典型的には、所望の場所に位置付けられるまで、経皮的に導入され、経管腔的に輸送される。これらの装置は、次に、例えば装置内に位置付けられたマンドレルもしくはバルーンの拡張によって機械的に拡張するか、または、身体内部での作動の際に蓄積エネルギーを解放することによって自己拡張する。いったん管腔内部で拡張したら、典型的にはステントと呼ばれるこれらの装置は、身体組織内に封じ込められ、持続的インプラントのままとなる。
本発明は、組織を支持する医療装置および薬物送達システムに関し、より具体的には、器官を支持し、開存性を維持し、かつ/または薬物もしくは薬剤を送達するため、生きている動物または人間の身体管腔内に植え込まれる、拡張可能な装置に関する。
本発明のステントは、非常に可撓性があり、送達可能である一方、血管の開存性を維持するために十分な半径方向強度をもたらすものである。ステントは、コバルトクロム合金、ステンレス鋼合金、またはニッケルチタン合金を含む、適切な材料で作られた管をレーザー切断することによるなど、任意の適切な方法で形成され得る。本発明の冠状動脈用可撓性ステントが、本発明の一実施形態を示すために開示されるが、当業者は、開示された発明が、身体内の他の場所および管腔、例えば血管性、非血管性、および末梢の血管、導管などにも等しく適用され得ることを、理解するであろう。
(1) 近位端部分および遠位端部分、ならびに円筒形状を有し、管腔側表面および反管腔側表面、ならびに前記管腔側表面と前記反管腔側表面との間の厚さを備える、管状可撓性ステントであって、前記円筒形状は、長さ方向軸を定める、管状可撓性ステントにおいて、
長さ方向に向けられた複数の支柱部材、および周方向に向けられた複数のヒンジ部材を有する螺旋状セクションであって、前記ヒンジ部材は、周方向に隣接する支柱部材を接続してバンドを形成し、前記バンドは、複数の螺旋状巻き部分を形成するように実質的に螺旋状に前記長さ方向軸を中心として巻かれ、各支柱部材は、長さ方向に向けられた対向する長辺および周方向に向けられた対向する短辺を備えた、実質的に矩形の形状を有し、各ヒンジ部材は、内側湾曲部および外側湾曲部を備えた曲線形状を有し、前記内側湾曲部または前記外側湾曲部のうち少なくとも一方に沿って、突出する円頂を有する、螺旋状セクション、

(2) 実施態様1に記載の可撓性ステントにおいて、
前記円頂は、前記外側湾曲部から外側に突出する、可撓性ステント。
(3) 実施態様1に記載の可撓性ステントにおいて、
外側に突出する前記円頂は、前記外側湾曲部に沿った、より大きな弧の両端部で内側に延びる2つの劣弧により形成される、可撓性ステント。
(4) 実施態様2に記載の可撓性ステントにおいて、
前記ヒンジの前記内側湾曲部は、途切れのない滑らかな内輪を維持する、可撓性ステント。
(5) 実施態様1に記載の可撓性ステントにおいて、
前記円頂は、前記内側湾曲部から内側に突出する、可撓性ステント。
内側に突出する前記円頂は、前記内側湾曲部に沿った劣弧の両端部で外側に延びる2つの、より大きな弧により形成される、可撓性ステント。
(7) 実施態様5に記載の可撓性ステントにおいて、
前記ヒンジの前記外側湾曲部は、途切れのない滑らかな外輪を維持する、可撓性ステント。
(8) 実施態様1に記載の可撓性ステントにおいて、
少なくとも1つのヒンジ部材が、突出する円頂を有し、前記突出する円頂は、ヒンジの中心線幅の1.875倍である、ヒンジの中心線長さをもたらす、可撓性ステント。
(9) 実施態様1に記載の可撓性ステントにおいて、
少なくとも1つのヒンジが、前記円頂に隣接する第1の領域から、前記支柱部材に隣接する第2の領域まで、不均一な幅を有する、可撓性ステント。
(10) 実施態様9に記載の可撓性ステントにおいて、
前記少なくとも1つのヒンジは、前記円頂に隣接する第1の幅から前記支柱部材に隣接する第2の幅までテーパー状になる、可撓性ステント。
Claims (10)
- 近位端部分および遠位端部分、ならびに円筒形状を有し、管腔側表面および反管腔側表面、ならびに前記管腔側表面と前記反管腔側表面との間の厚さを備える、管状可撓性ステントであって、前記円筒形状は、長さ方向軸を定める、管状可撓性ステントにおいて、
長さ方向に向けられた複数の支柱部材、および周方向に向けられた複数のヒンジ部材を有する螺旋状セクションであって、前記ヒンジ部材は、周方向に隣接する支柱部材を接続してバンドを形成し、前記バンドは、複数の螺旋状巻き部分を形成するように実質的に螺旋状に前記長さ方向軸を中心として巻かれ、各支柱部材は、長さ方向に向けられた対向する長辺および周方向に向けられた対向する短辺を備えた、実質的に矩形の形状を有し、各ヒンジ部材は、内側湾曲部および外側湾曲部を備えた曲線形状を有し、前記内側湾曲部または前記外側湾曲部のうち少なくとも一方に沿って、突出する円頂を有する、螺旋状セクション、
