Description
12[N]−2[F]M−11[N] 式(I);
[F]T−[F]M−23[N] 式(II);
23[N]−[F]M−[F]H 式(III);または
11[N]−3[F]M−11[N] 式(IV)
を含む構造を有し、ここで、[F]Mは、ポリマー鎖の内部にある官能化ポリマー繰り返し単位二量体であり、[F]Tは、ポリマー鎖の尾部または尾末端にある官能化ポリマー繰り返し単位二量体であり、[F]Hは、ポリマー鎖の頭部または頭末端にある官能化ポリマー繰り返し単位二量体であり、[N]は、非官能化ポリマー繰り返し単位であり、官能基は、カルボン酸またはカルボン酸塩であり、それぞれの単位は、エステル化された酸およびアルコールを含む。係数は、二量体単位の数を示す。

場合により、融着剤を使用してもよい。
目標は、モデルとして、スルホン化官能基を含む樹脂を用い、カルボン酸またはカルボン酸塩を含有する結晶性/アモルファスポリエステルポリマーを検討することであった。
上のモデルを使用し、それぞれ式(VI)および(VII)によって記載されるように、スルホネート官能基をカルボン酸またはカルボン酸ナトリウム塩と置き換え、別のポリマーの挙動を評価し、
基本繰り返し構造12[N]−2[R]−11[N]をもつポリマー(Nは、非官能化残基であり、Rは、カルボン酸ペンダント基を含む残基であり、固形分35%、結晶性ポリエステル(Mw23,300、Mn=10,500、Tm=71℃、固形分35%)、2%界面活性剤(DOWFAX(登録商標)3A1、Dow Chemical Company)、ポリエチレンワックスエマルション(Tm=90℃、固形分30%、The International Group、Inc.(IGI))、黒色顔料(Nipex 35、Evonik Industries、Essen、DE)、顔料PB 15:3分散物を反応器の中で混合し、次いで、0.3M硝酸を用い、pHを4.2に調節する。次いで、スラリーをCAVITRONホモジナイザを用い、合計60分間の循環ループを用いることによって均質化し、最初の8分間の間、硫酸アルミニウムの脱イオン(DI)水溶液からなる凝固剤をラインから加える。凝固剤をすべて加えたら、反応器のrpmを、100rpmから、混合設定速度である300rpmまで上げる。次いで、スラリーをバッチ温度42℃で凝集させる。凝集の間、コアと同じカルボン酸樹脂を含み、硝酸でpHを3.3に調節したシェルをこのバッチに加える。このバッチをさらに加熱し、目標粒径にする。目標粒径に達したら、NaOHおよびEDTAを用いてpHを7.8に調製し、凝集工程を凍結させる。反応器の温度(Tr)が85℃になるまで上げつつ、このプロセスを続ける。所望の温度で、硝酸を用い、pHを7.0に調節し、Taycapower BN2060界面活性剤(Tayca Corp.)溶液を加えると、粒子が融着する。約2時間後、粒子は、真円度>0.965に達し、熱交換器を用いて急冷して反応を停止させ、黒色トナー粒子を得る。
Claims (10)
- カルボン酸ペンダント側基またはカルボン酸塩ペンダント側基を含む少なくとも2つの隣接する残基を含むポリエステルポリマー。
- (a)アルコール残基と、(b)酸またはエステルの残基とを交互に含む、請求項1に記載のポリエステルポリマー。
- 前記隣接する残基が、アルコール残基の上と、酸またはエステルの残基の上にある、請求項2に記載のポリエステルポリマー。
- 前記隣接する残基が、交互に位置するアルコール残基の上にある、請求項2に記載のポリエステルポリマー。
- 前記隣接する残基が、交互に位置する酸またはエステルの残基の上にある、請求項2に記載のポリエステルポリマー。
- 前記隣接する残基が、前記ポリマーの片方の末端にある、請求項1に記載のポリエステルポリマー。
- 界面張力が少なくとも25mJ/m2である、請求項1に記載のポリエステルポリマー。
- 請求項1に記載のポリマーを含む、トナー粒子。
- 乳化凝集トナー粒子である、請求項8に記載のトナー粒子。
- 請求項8に記載のトナー粒子を含む、現像剤。
