Abstract

Description
本出願は、2006年6月2日に出願された米国仮特許出願60/810、380および2006年10月18日に出願された米国仮特許出願60/852、592の米国特許法第119条(e)に基づく利益を主張し、各々は参照によりその全文を本明細書に組み込まれるものとする。本出願は「光透過性ビア充填のための方法(PROCESS FOR OPTICALLY TRANSPARENT VIA FILLING)」Atty.Doc.No.ESI−160−B.と題する同時に出願され、同一譲受人に譲渡された米国特許出願に関連する。
本技術的主題の分野は、穿孔前に基板を薄くするため、および/または、穿孔後にビアパターンを有する薄くされた基板を構造的に補強するための方法に関する。
このような照明を提供するための一般的な方法は、灯火が切の状態の場合は可視で、それが入の状態の場合は明るく点灯する投光を提供することである。光の一群または光のための孔は、工業デザイナの目的物にとって破壊的な影響を与える場合がある。
本方法によって形成される生産物も本明細書に示す。このような生産物の一例、たとえばパネルは、第1の厚さを有し、第1の厚さよりも小さい第2の厚さを有する部分を含む。パネルは、第2の厚さを有するパネルのその部分中に形成される光透過性の部分をさらに含み、この光透過性の部分は、光透過性材料で充填される少なくとも1つのビアによって形成される。

Claims (6)
- 第1の外部表面と反対側の第2の外部表面を有する基板であって、可視光不透過性材料からなる基板、
前記パネルの少なくとも一部を貫通して穿孔されたマイクロビアの配列パターン、および
前記マイクロビアを充填する可視光透過性材料を含む装置において、
前記第2の外部表面に当てられる光が前記第1の外部表面上の前記配列パターンを照らすように前記マイクロビアの開口の大きさが決められ、かつ前記第2の外部表面に光が当てられないとき前記第1の外部表面は肉眼で連続した基板表面を形成することを特徴とする装置。 - 前記基板の少なくとも一部に隣接し、かつ前記第1の外部表面の反対に位置する補強材料をさらに含む請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記基板は前記第2外部表面が前記1の外部表面対するより前記第1の外部表面に近い第1の表面を有する減厚された領域を有し、前記マイクロビアの配列パターンは前記第1の表面から前記第1の外部表面に延長されていることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の装置。
- 前記マイクロビアはそれぞれ第1の外部表面においてより狭い開口部を有する円錐状の形状である請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記減厚された領域は、前記減圧された領域の前記第1の表面から前記第2の外部表面の減圧された領域まで可視光透過性材料で充填されている請求項3または4に記載の装置。
- 前記基板はハウジングの一部を形成し、前記装置は、
ハウジング内に位置する光源であって、可視光を前記第1外部表面から反対側の前記マイクロビアに開口に透過するように配置された光源をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
