Claims (12)

  1. 電気抵抗の超弾性ワイヤを具備する抵抗加熱要素であって、前記超弾性ワイヤが、第1端部及び第2端部を有し、且つ該第1端部と該第2端部との間に隙間を有するループを形成する、抵抗加熱要素と、
    前記超弾性ワイヤの第1端部と第2端部とを隔てる電気絶縁材料を具備する絶縁部であって、前記第1端部及び第2端部が、前記ループと当該絶縁部との間に移行ネック部を形成すべく、互いに近接し、且つ、少なくとも部分的に、前記ループによって画成された平面から当該絶縁部へ所定の角度で延在する絶縁部と
    を具備する嚢切開装置。
  2. 少なくとも部分的に、前記ループによって画成された前記平面から所定の角度で延在することが、前記ループによって画成された前記平面からほぼ垂直に延在することを含む、請求項1に記載の嚢切開装置。
  3. 少なくとも部分的に、前記ループによって画成された前記平面から所定の角度で延在することが、前記ループによって画成された前記平面の後側に対して測定されたときに約45°で延在することを含む、請求項1に記載の嚢切開装置。
  4. 前記絶縁部の周りに収まり、且つ前記抵抗加熱要素が格納位置にあるときに実質的に該抵抗加熱要素を包含するように構成された挿入スリーブを更に具備する、請求項1に記載の嚢切開装置。
  5. 前記超弾性ワイヤがニッケルチタン合金から形成される、請求項1に記載の嚢切開装置。
  6. 前記ループが、眼の水晶体前嚢又は水晶体後嚢に対して設置するための底面と、該底面と反対側の頂面とを有し、前記抵抗加熱要素が、少なくとも前記頂面上に配置されるが前記底面には存在しない断熱層を更に具備する、請求項1に記載の嚢切開装置。
  7. 前記超弾性ワイヤが実質的に少なくとも前記ループ全体の周りにおいて長方形の断面を有し、前記断熱層が、実質的に少なくとも前記ループ全体の周りにおいて、前記超弾性ワイヤの三つの側部上に配置される、請求項1に記載の嚢切開装置。
  8. 前記絶縁部における、前記移行ネック部の一方の側の前記第1端部と前記第2端部との間の隙間が、前記ループにおける、前記移行ネック部の反対側の前記第1端部と前記第2端部との間の隙間よりも広い、請求項1に記載の嚢切開装置。
  9. 前記移行ネック部の反対側の前記第1端部と前記第2端部との間の隙間が約0.076mmである、請求項8に記載の嚢切開装置。
  10. 前記超弾性ワイヤのループにおける前記隙間は、前記ループが、眼の嚢に接触して定置されている間に電流が当該ループに印加されると前記眼の嚢において円形の連続的な切断部を形成することができるように十分小さい、請求項1に記載の嚢切開装置。
  11. 前記ループが後方の切嚢のために使用されることができるように、前記ループの直径が約2〜4mmである、請求項1に記載の嚢切開装置。
  12. 前記ループが前方の切嚢のために使用されることができるように、前記ループの直径が約4〜6mmである、請求項1に記載の嚢切開装置。
