Abstract
【解決手段】好適な実施形態の希土類磁石の製造方法は、軽希土類元素、Fe及びBを含む磁石素体と、この磁石素体の表面上に形成された、M(Mは、Si、Al、Zn、Mn、Ge、Sn、Bi、Pb、Ga、Cu、Ni及びCoからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも1種の元素を示す。)の酸化物又は水酸化物を含む皮膜とを備える複合体に、熱処理を行って、磁石素体の表面上に、軽希土類元素、Fe、並びに、Mを含む合金を含有する保護層を形成させる熱処理工程を有する。

Description
粉末冶金法により、組成が22.5重量%Nd−5.2重量%Pr−2.7重量%Dy−0.5重量%Co−0.3重量%Al−0.07重量%Cu−1.0重量%B−残部Feである鋳塊を作製した。鋳塊を粗粉砕して得た粗粉末を、不活性ガス中でジェットミルにより粉砕して、平均粒径が約3.5μmの微粉末を得た。微粉末を金型内に充填し、磁場中で加圧成形して成形体を得た。成形体を真空中で焼成した後、時効処理を施して焼結体を得た。焼結体を切り出し加工し、13mm×8mm×2mmの寸法を有する磁石素体を作製した。
まず、実施例1と同様にして、磁石素体を作製した後、その表面のエッチングを行った。また、平均粒径50nmの酸化亜鉛粒子を2−プロパノールに分散し、バインダーとしてポリビニルブチラールを加えることにより、処理液を調製した。
まず、実施例1と同様にして、磁石素体を作製した後、その表面のエッチングを行った。また、アルミニウムトリsec−ブトキシドを2−メトキシエタノールに溶解させることで、処理液を調製した。
磁石素体の表面のエッチング以降の工程を実施しなかったこと以外は、実施例1と同様の方法で比較例1の希土類磁石を作製した。つまり、保護層及び外部保護層の形成を行わずに、比較例1の希土類磁石を作製した。
まず、実施例1と同様の方法により、磁石素体の表面上にシリカを含有する皮膜が形成された複合体を得た。この複合体を、Ar雰囲気において400℃60分熱処理して、比較例2の希土類磁石を作製した。
まず、実施例2と同様の方法により、磁石素体の表面上に酸化亜鉛を含有する皮膜が形成された複合体を得た。この複合体を、Ar雰囲気において400℃60分熱処理して、比較例3の希土類磁石を作製した。
まず、実施例3と同様にして、磁石素体の表面上にアルミニウム酸化物を含有する皮膜が形成された複合体を得た。この複合体を、Ar雰囲気において400℃60分熱処理して、比較例4の希土類磁石を作製した。
各実施例及び比較例の希土類磁石の耐食性を、JIS K5600−7−1に準拠する塩水噴霧試験により評価した。塩水噴霧試験では、35℃の環境下で各希土類磁石に5%の塩水を5時間噴霧した。そして、試験後の各希土類磁石の表面において赤錆が発生した部分の面積の割合(錆面積率)を算出した。なお、錆面積率とは、希土類磁石の表面全体の面積に対する、赤錆が発生していた部分の面積の割合(単位:%)である。錆面積率は、塩水噴霧試験後の希土類磁石の写真を画像処理することにより算出した。表1に各実施例及び比較例の希土類磁石で得られた錆面積率を示す。
Claims (7)
- 軽希土類元素、Fe及びBを含む磁石素体と、前記磁石素体の表面上に形成された保護層と、を備えており、
前記保護層は、軽希土類元素、Fe、並びに、M(Mは、Si、Al、Zn、Mn、Ge、Sn、Bi、Pb、Ga、Cu、Ni及びCoからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも1種の元素を示す。)を含む合金を含有するものである、希土類磁石。 - 前記保護層の表面上に、軽希土類元素の酸化物を含む外部保護層を更に備える、請求項1記載の希土類磁石。
- 前記保護層は、軽希土類元素の酸化物を更に含む、請求項1又は2記載の希土類磁石。
- 軽希土類元素、Fe及びBを含む磁石素体と、該磁石素体の表面上に形成された、M(Mは、Si、Al、Zn、Mn、Ge、Sn、Bi、Pb、Ga、Cu、Ni及びCoからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも1種の元素を示す。)の酸化物又は水酸化物を含む皮膜と、を備える複合体に、熱処理を行って、前記磁石素体の表面上に、軽希土類元素と、Feと、前記Mのうちの少なくとも1種の元素とを含む合金を含有する保護層を形成させる熱処理工程を有する、希土類磁石の製造方法。
- 前記熱処理を、500℃以上、前記磁石素体の焼結温度以下の温度で行う、請求項4記載の希土類磁石の製造方法。
- 前記熱処理工程の前に、前記Mの酸化物又は水酸化物の粒子を含み酸性を有する水溶液に前記磁石素体を接触させることにより前記複合体を形成する複合体形成工程を実施する、請求項4又は5記載の希土類磁石の製造方法。
- 請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の希土類磁石を備える回転機。
