Abstract
【解決手段】ヨウ素、ヨウ化リチウム及びヨウ化1−エチル−3−メチルイミダゾリウムを含む電解質、並びに1−エチル−3−メチルイミダゾリウムビスフルオロスルホニルイミドを含むイオン液体を含有する電解液。電解質の濃度は、ヨウ素が0.1〜0.6モル/リットル、ヨウ化リチウムが0.05〜0.3モル/リットル、ヨウ化1−エチル−3−メチルイミダゾリウムが1.0〜3.0モル/リットルであることが好ましい。

Description
項1.ヨウ素、ヨウ化リチウム、ヨウ化1−エチル−3−メチルイミダゾリウム及び1−エチル−3−メチルイミダゾリウムビスフルオロスルホニルイミドを含有する電解液。
項2.ヨウ素を0.1〜0.6モル/リットル、ヨウ化リチウムを0.05〜0.3モル/リットル、ヨウ化1−エチル−3−メチルイミダゾリウムを1.0〜3.0モル/リットル含有する、項1に記載の電解液。
項3.さらに、4−ターシャルブチルピリジン及びN−メチルベンズイミダゾールよりなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種の塩基性物質を含有する、項1又は2に記載の電解液。
項4.前記塩基性物質を0.1〜1.0モル/リットル含有する、項3に記載の電解液。

<電解質>
本発明の電解液は、電解質として、ヨウ素、ヨウ化リチウム及びヨウ化1−エチル−3−メチルイミダゾリウムを使用する。
各々の電解質の濃度としては、色素増感太陽電池の開放電圧を充分に保持して充分な光電変換効率を得る観点から、ヨウ化物イオンI−の供給源としてはヨウ化1−エチル−3−メチルイミダゾリウムを主成分とするのが好ましい。具体的には、ヨウ化リチウムとヨウ化1−エチル−3−メチルイミダゾリウムとの濃度比は、特に限定されないが、色素増感太陽電池の開放電圧を充分に保持して充分な光電変換効率を得る観点から、1:5〜1:30(モル比)、特に1:15〜1:25(モル比)が好ましい。
本発明の電解液は、溶媒として、イオン液体である1−エチル−3−メチルイミダゾリウムビススルホニルイミドを使用する。ヨウ化1−エチル−3−メチルイミダゾリウムビススルホニルイミドの融点は−14℃、25℃における粘度は19mPa・sである。
本発明の電解液には、上記した成分以外にも、塩基性物質、例えば、4−ターシャルブチルピリジン、N−メチルベンズイミダゾール等を含有させることもできる。これらの塩基性物質を含有させれば、光電変換素子を作製した際に、チタニア電極のチタニア表面に吸着し、チタニア電極からの逆電子移動を防ぐことができ、開放電圧をより向上させるとともに、光電変換効率をより向上させることができる。
本発明の光電変換素子は、チタニア電極の多孔質チタニア膜の上に対向電極(対極)を形成し、これら電極間を本発明の電解液で満たすことにより得られる。
チタンイソプロポキシド0.05molに酢酸0.05molを加えて15分撹拌した。蒸留水73mlを加えて1時間撹拌した。さらに濃硝酸1mlを加えて80℃で75分間加熱及び撹拌を行った。蒸留水を加えて全量を93mlとしてチタニアゾル水溶液を得た。このチタニアゾル水溶液40mLを内容積125mlの圧力反応容器に入れて250℃で12時間加熱した。得られた白色沈殿物(チタニア)をエタノールで溶媒置換した後、100mlエタノール分散液とした。これにα−テルピネオール7gとエチルセルロースの10重量%エタノール溶液8.65gを加えて撹拌した。十分に撹拌した後、エバポレータを用いてエタノールを留去してチタニアを含む膜形成用組成物10gを得た。
フッ素ドープ酸化スズ(FTO)膜付きガラス(日本板硝子(株)製;4mm厚)にポリエステル製スクリーン印刷版(225メッシュ)を用いて、上記で作製したチタニアを含む膜形成用組成物を、5ミリ角の大きさに膜厚14μmになるまで繰り返しスクリーン印刷を行った。さらに電気炉に入れて500℃にて1時間焼成を行った。
スイス・ソラロニクス社製のZ−907色素をターシャルブチルアルコールとアセトニトリルの容量比1:1の混合溶媒に0.5ミリモル/リットルの濃度で溶解したものに上記500℃で焼成したチタニア負極を25℃で20時間浸漬して色素を固定した。
色素を固定した上記チタニア負極に、スペーサー兼シール剤として厚さ50μmの低密度ポリエチレンフィルム(デュポン社製バイネル)を用いて、白金をスパッタしたフッ素ドープ酸化スズ(FTO)膜付きガラス(ピルキントン社製;2.2mm厚)を貼り合わせた。その後、後述する実施例1〜4及び比較例1〜5の電解液を注入して封止を行い、光電変換素子を作製した。
作製した小型セルに(株)三永電機製作所製のソーラーシミュレータでAM1.5(JISC8912Aランク)の条件下の100mW/cm2の強度の光を照射して上記小型セルの光電変換特性を25℃にて評価した。
作製した小型セルを85℃の乾燥炉に入れて、1000時間保持した。1000時間保持した後、上記の性能評価と同様に、小型セルの光電変換特性を評価した。
電解液の組成を以下のようにして、小型セルの評価を行った。結果を表1に示す。
ヨウ素:0.2M
ヨウ化リチウム:0.1M
ヨウ化1−エチル−3−メチルイミダゾリウム:1.0M
4−ターシャルブチルピリジン:0.5M
溶媒は1−エチル−3−メチルイミダゾリウムビスフルオロスルホニルイミドを使用した。
電解液の組成を以下のようにして、小型セルの評価を行った。結果を表1に示す。
ヨウ素:0.2M
ヨウ化リチウム:0.1M
ヨウ化1−エチル−3−メチルイミダゾリウム:1.8M
4−ターシャルブチルピリジン:0.5M
溶媒は1−エチル−3−メチルイミダゾリウムビスフルオロスルホニルイミドを使用した。
電解液の組成を以下のようにして、小型セルの評価を行った。結果を表1に示す。

4−ターシャルブチルピリジン:0.5M
溶媒は1−エチル−3−メチルイミダゾリウムビスフルオロスルホニルイミドを使用した。
電解液の組成を以下のようにして、小型セルの評価を行った。結果を表1に示す。

4−ターシャルブチルピリジン:0.5M
溶媒は1−エチル−3−メチルイミダゾリウムビスフルオロスルホニルイミドを使用した。

溶媒は1−エチル−3−メチルイミダゾリウムテトラシアノボレートを使用した。

ヨウ化リチウム:0.1M
ヨウ化1−エチル−3−メチルイミダゾリウム:1.8M
4−ターシャルブチルピリジン:0.5M
溶媒は1−エチル−3−メチルイミダゾリウムチオシアネートを使用した。
Claims (6)
- ヨウ素、ヨウ化リチウム及びヨウ化1−エチル−3−メチルイミダゾリウムを含む電解質、並びに1−エチル−3−メチルイミダゾリウムビスフルオロスルホニルイミドを含むイオン液体を含有する電解液。
- ヨウ素を0.1〜0.6モル/リットル、ヨウ化リチウムを0.05〜0.3モル/リットル、ヨウ化1−エチル−3−メチルイミダゾリウムを1.0〜3.0モル/リットル含有する、請求項1に記載の電解液。
- さらに、4−ターシャルブチルピリジン及びN−メチルベンズイミダゾールよりなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種の塩基性物質を含有する、請求項1又は2に記載の電解液。
- 前記塩基性物質を0.1〜1.0モル/リットル含有する、請求項3に記載の電解液。
- 請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の電解液を用いて得られる光電変換素子。
- 請求項5に記載の光電変換素子を用いて得られる色素増感太陽電池。
