Description
Claims (15)
- GMR共鳴周波数を有する導波モード共鳴(GMR)をサポートする導波路層と、
混成GMR格子上に入射する信号の一部分を前記導波路層の中に結合する回折格子であって、前記結合された部分が前記GMR共鳴周波数に相当する周波数を有する、回折格子と、
前記入射信号の他の部分を反射する分布ブラッグ反射器(DBR)であって、前記他の部分が、前記GMR共鳴周波数から離れている周波数を有する、分布ブラッグ反射器(DBR)とを備えることを特徴とする混成導波モード共鳴(GMR)格子。 - 前記導波路層が、前記回折格子と前記DBRとの間にあるか、又は前記DBRが、前記導波路層と前記回折格子との間にあることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の混成GMR格子。
- 前記DBRが前記導波路層内にある、前記回折格子が前記導波路層内にある、前記回折格子が前記DBRの表面内にある、及び前記回折格子が前記導波路層若しくは前記DBRの何れかの表面上にある、のうちの1つ又は複数であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の混成GMR格子。
- 前記導波路層が、前記回折格子によって前記導波路層の中に結合された信号を吸収する吸収器を備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の混成GMR格子。
- 前記吸収器による吸収が制御可能であって、前記結合された信号を変調し、それにより前記混成GMR格子が、前記結合された信号の変調器であることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の混成GMR格子。
- 前記回折格子が1次元の回折格子を備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の混成GMR格子。
- 前記1次元の回折格子が、前記DBRの上に重なる誘電体層の中に形成された誘電体のフィーチャの周期的な配列を備えることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の混成GMR格子。
- 前記1次元の回折格子が、前記混成GMR格子の表面の中及び表面の上の一方又は両方に形成される、表面フィーチャの表面プロフィールを備えることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の混成GMR格子。
- 前記回折格子が、表面層の中に形成された誘電体フィーチャの配列、並びに前記混成GMR格子の表面の中及び表面の上の一方又は両方に形成された表面フィーチャ、の一方又は両方を備える、2次元の回折格子を備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の混成GMR格子。
- 順次縦続接続として並べられた複数の混成GMR格子を備え、縦続接続された光フィルタの中で使用され、前記順次縦続接続の混成GMR格子のそれぞれが、異なるGMR共鳴周波数を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の混成GMR格子。
- 光信号を受けるカプラと、
第1のGMR共鳴周波数を有するGMR格子及び分布ブラッグ反射器(DBR)を備え、前記DBRが回折格子と前記GMR格子の導波路層との間にあるか、又は前記導波路層が前記回折格子と前記DBRとの間にある、混成導波モード共鳴(GMR)格子とを備え、
前記カプラが、前記受けられた光信号を前記混成GMR格子の中に結合し、更に前記混成GMR格子から反射信号を受け、結合して出すことを特徴とする光フィルタ。 - 第2のGMR共鳴周波数を有する他の混成GMR格子を更に備え、前記他の混成GMR格子が、前記カプラから前記反射信号を受けることを特徴とする請求項11に記載の光フィルタ。
- GMR格子の回折格子を使用して、前記GMR格子のGMR共鳴周波数の結合帯域幅内の周波数を有する、入力信号の第1の信号部分を、前記GMR格子の導波路層の中に結合することによって、前記導波モード共鳴(GMR)を前記GMR格子の中で励起し、
分布ブラッグ反射器(DBR)の分布ブラッグ反射を使用して、前記GMR共鳴周波数の前記結合帯域幅の外にある周波数における、反射信号である、前記入力信号の第2の信号部分を反射することを含み、
前記DBRが、前記回折格子と前記導波路層との間にあり、又は前記導波路層が、前記回折格子と前記DBRとの間にあることを特徴とする光フィルタリングの方法。 - 前記導波路層の中に結合された前記第1の信号部分が、前記導波路層内で吸収されるものか、又は伝送信号として前記導波路層によって伝送されるものであることを特徴とする請求項13に記載の光フィルタリングの方法。
- 他のGMR格子の回折格子を使用して、前記反射信号の一部分を前記他のGMR格子の導波路層の中に結合することによって、前記反射信号を、他のGMR共鳴周波数を有する前記他のGMR格子の中に結合することであって、前記反射信号の前記結合された部分が、前記他のGMR格子の前記他のGMR共鳴周波数の結合帯域幅内にある、結合することと、
前記他のGMR格子の他のDBRの分布ブラッグ反射を使用して、前記他のGMR共鳴周波数の前記結合帯域幅の外の周波数において、他の反射信号である、前記反射信号の他の部分を反射することとを含む、前記入力信号の縦続接続の光フィルタリングを更に含むことを特徴とする請求項13に記載の光フィルタリングの方法。
