Abstract
【解決手段】外装材と、前記外装材内に収納された正極と、前記外装材内に前記正極と空間的に離間して収納され、チタン複合酸化物を含有する活物質を含む負極と、前記外装材内に収容された非水電解質とを具備し、前記チタン複合酸化物は、単斜晶系β型チタン複合酸化物を主相として含み、波長514.5nmのアルゴンレーザーを用いて測定されるラマンスペクトル上の105cm-1〜133cm-1の振動数領域に存在するピークの面積強度をA1とし、134cm-1〜154cm-1の振動数領域に存在するピークの面積強度をA2としたとき、A2/A1が0.4以下である非水電解質電池。

また、面積強度は以下の方法により求めることができる。
以下、非水電解質電池の構成部材である外装材、負極、正極、セパレータおよび非水電解質について詳細に説明する。
外装材は、厚さ0.5mm以下のラミネートフィルムからなる容器または厚さ1.0mm以下の金属製容器が用いられる。金属製容器は、厚さ0.5mm以下であることがより好ましい。
負極は、集電体と、この集電体の片面または両面に形成され、活物質、導電剤および結着剤を含む負極層とを備える。
正極は、集電体と、この集電体の片面または両面に形成され、活物質、導電剤および結着剤を含む正極層とを備える。
非水電解質は、例えば電解質を有機溶媒に溶解することにより調製される液状非水電解質、または液状電解質と高分子材料を複合化したゲル状非水電解質が挙げられる。
セパレータは、例えばポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、セルロース、もしくはポリフッ化ビニリデン(PVdF)を含む多孔質フィルム、または合成樹脂製不織布が挙げられる。ポリエチレンまたはポリプロピレンから作られる多孔質フィルムは、一定温度において溶融し、電流を遮断することが可能であるため、安全性の向上の点で好ましい。
<チタン複合酸化物の製造>
まず、炭酸カリウム(K2CO3)、とアナターゼ型酸化チタン(TiO2)を混合し、1000℃で24時間焼成してK2Ti4O9を合成した。得られたK2Ti4O9をジルコニアビーズで1時間乾式粉砕して粒度調整した(工程1)。この後、純水で洗浄してプロトン交換前駆体とした。得られたプロトン交換前駆体を1M濃度の塩酸溶液中に投入し、25℃の環境で1日攪拌した。この操作を2回繰り返し、その都度塩酸を交換し、その後純水で洗浄してプロトン交換体を得た(工程2)。つづいて、得られたプロトン交換体を大気中で400℃、3時間の焼成を施す(工程3)ことによりチタン複合酸化物を製造した。
得られたチタン複合酸化物粉末90重量%、アセチレンブラック10重量%およびポリフッ化ビニリデン(PVdF)10重量%をN−メチルピロリドン(NMP)加えて混合し、スラリーを調製した。このスラリーを厚さ15μmのアルミニウム箔からなる集電体の両面に塗布し、乾燥した後、プレスすることにより電極密度が1.6g/cm3の負極を作製した。
エチレンカーボネート(EC)とジエチルカーボネート(DEC)の混合溶媒(体積比率1:2)に電解質としてのLiPF6を1M溶解することにより液状非水電解質(非水電解液)を調製した。
前記電極をそれぞれ20mm×20mmの大きさに切り出し、対極となるリチウム金属をガラスフィルターを介して対向させ、リチウム金属を参照極とした電極群を作製した。この電極群をガラスセル中に配置し、アルゴン雰囲気下で上記液状非水電解質を満たして、ガラスセル(非水電解質二次電池)を組立てた。
チタン複合酸化物の製造にあたり、前述した工程1〜3の条件を下記表1に示す条件とした以外、実施例1と同様の方法でチタン複合酸化物を製造した。これらのチタン複合酸化物を電極の活物質として用いた以外、実施例1と同様のガラスセル(非水電解質二次電池)を組立てた。
Claims (8)
- チタン複合酸化物を含む電池用活物質であって、
前記チタン複合酸化物は、単斜晶系β型チタン複合酸化物を主相として含み、波長514.5nmのアルゴンレーザーを用いて測定されるラマンスペクトル上の105cm-1〜133cm-1の振動数領域に存在するピークの面積強度をA1とし、134cm-1〜154cm-1の振動数領域に存在するピークの面積強度をA2としたとき、A2/A1が0.4以下であることを特徴とする電池用活物質。 - 前記波長514.5nmのアルゴンレーザーを用いて測定されるラマンスペクトル上の105cm-1〜133cm-1の振動数領域に存在するピークのバンド幅は、16cm-1以下であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の電池用活物質。
- 外装材;
前記外装材内に収納された正極;
前記外装材内に前記正極と空間的に離間して収納され、チタン複合酸化物を含有する活物質を含む負極;および
前記外装材内に収容された非水電解質;
を具備し、
前記チタン複合酸化物は、単斜晶系β型チタン複合酸化物を主相として含み、波長514.5nmのアルゴンレーザーを用いて測定されるラマンスペクトル上の105cm-1〜133cm-1の振動数領域に存在するピークの面積強度をA1とし、134cm-1〜154cm-1の振動数領域に存在するピークの面積強度をA2としたとき、A2/A1が0.4以下であることを特徴とする非水電解質電池。 - 前記チタン複合酸化物は、前記波長514.5nmのアルゴンレーザーを用いて測定されるラマンスペクトル上の105cm-1〜133cm-1の振動数領域に存在するピークのバンド幅が16cm-1以下であることを特徴とする請求項3記載の非水電解質電池。
- 前記正極は、リチウムニッケル複合酸化物を含むことを特徴とする請求項3または4記載の非水電解質電池。
- 前記外装材は、ラミネートフィルムから形成されることを特徴とする請求項3乃至5のいずれか1項に記載の非水電解質電池。
- 請求項3乃至6のいずれか1項に記載の非水電解質電池を複数備え、各々の電池が直列、並列または直列および並列に電気的に接続されることを特徴とする電池パック。
- 各々の非水電解質電池の電圧が検知可能な保護回路をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項7記載の電池パック。
