Abstract
【解決手段】マルチゾーン単焦点眼科用レンズ60は、内側ゾーン70と、中間ゾーン72と、外側ゾーン74とを含む。内側ゾーン70は、第1の屈折力を有する。中間ゾーン72は、内側ゾーン70を取り囲み、少なくとも約0.75ジオプター未満の大きさだけ第1の屈折力と異なる第2の屈折力を有する。外側ゾーン74は、中間ゾーン72を取り囲み、第2の屈折力と異なる第3の屈折力を有する。ある具体例において、第3の屈折力は、第1の屈折力と等しい。

Description
本出願は、米国特許法第119条(e)に基づき、同じ発明の名称で2002年11月8日に出願された仮出願(出願番号60/424,851)の優先権を主張するもので、それによりパリ条約の優先権が確保されている。
本発明は、眼内レンズ(IOL:Intraocular lens)、特に、それぞれ異なる角膜を有する様々な人間の眼のために、幅広い照明条件下で光学収差を補正でき、偏心した又は傾いた場合でも効果のあるマルチゾーン単焦点IOLに関する。
本発明は、開いた瞳孔に対して優れた変調伝達関数MTF(Module Transfer Function))特性を維持しながら、眼内での偏心に対する感受性を低減した眼内レンズ(IOL)の設計を含む。MTFは視覚性能の指標であり、それは、1mmあたりのサイクル数の単位で表される空間周波数の範囲にわたって、最小値0.0〜最大値1.0の無次元スケール上にプロット可能である。MTFは、物体(被写体)のコントラストを画像に転写する効率(efficiency of transferring)の指標である。空間周波数は、物体の大きさに反比例する。したがって、視覚的な解像度の限界にある小さな物体は、大きな物体よりも高い空間周波数を有する。本明細書に記載されたIOLは、レンズ前面、レンズ後面、またはその両方に、入射波面上で共に作用して矯正された眼像(ocular image)を生成する複数のゾーンを含んでいる、マルチゾーン単焦点レンズを含む。そして、以下で詳細に説明するように、本発明のIOLの異なるゾーンは、通常、異なる平均球面率(度)および/またはジオプター度数を有するが、ゾーン間のジオプター度数の差は、多焦点IOLに使用される2ジオプター〜4ジオプターの典型的な設計値の差よりも遙かに小さい。ある実施形態、任意の2つのゾーン間における最大のジオプター度数の差は、少なくとも約0.75D未満であり、有利には約0.65D未満である。
Claims (24)
- 第1の屈折力を有する内側ゾーンと、
前記内側ゾーンを取り囲み、少なくとも約0.75ジオプター未満の大きさだけ前記第1の屈折力と異なる第2の屈折力を有する中間ゾーンと、
前記中間ゾーンを取り囲み、前記第2の屈折力と異なる第3の屈折力を有する外側ゾーンと、を含むことを特徴とするマルチゾーン単焦点眼科用レンズ。 - 前記第3の屈折力が、前記第1の屈折力と等しいことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のマルチゾーン単焦点眼科用レンズ。
- 前記第2の屈折力が、約0.65ジオプター以下の大きさだけ前記第1の屈折力と異なることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のマルチゾーン単焦点眼科用レンズ。
- 前記内側ゾーンが球面を含み、かつ、前記中間ゾーンが非球面を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のマルチゾーン単焦点眼科用レンズ。
- 前記眼内レンズは、前記中間ゾーンを取り囲み、第3の屈折力を有する外側ゾーンをさらに含み、
前記第2の屈折力が、少なくとも約0.75ジオプター以下の大きさだけ前記第1および前記第3の屈折力と異なることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のマルチゾーン単焦点眼科用レンズ。 - 前記第2の屈折力が、約0.65ジオプター以下の大きさだけ前記第1および第3の屈折力と異なることを特徴とする請求項5に記載のマルチゾーン単焦点眼科用レンズ。
- 前記内側ゾーンが球面を含み、前記中間ゾーンが非球面を含むことを特徴とする請求項5に記載のマルチゾーン単焦点眼科用レンズ。
- 前記外側ゾーンが非球面を含むことを特徴とする請求項7に記載のマルチゾーン単焦点眼科用レンズ。
- 前記中間ゾーンを取り囲む複数の外側ゾーンを含み、
前記眼内レンズ内の各ゾーンが、少なくとも約0.75ジオプター以下の大きさだけ異隣接するゾーンとなる屈折力を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のマルチゾーン単焦点眼科用レンズ。 - 合計で3つ〜7つのゾーンがあることを特徴とする請求項9に記載のマルチゾーン単焦点眼科用レンズ。
- 前記眼科用レンズは眼内レンズであって、ハプティクスを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のマルチゾーン単焦点眼科用レンズ。
- 光軸上に中心がある同軸上の分離した複数の光学ゾーンを伴うレンズを有するマルチゾーン単焦点眼内レンズであって、前記ゾーンは、物体からの入射光線を集光して像を形成するのに適しており、
前記眼内レンズは、
前記眼内レンズが人間の眼の光軸上に中心が置かれたときに、像を作り出すために前記眼内レンズの前記光軸と重なる内側ゾーンと、
前記内側ゾーンと同軸であり、移植された前記眼内レンズの少なくとも約0.1mmより大きい偏心により生じる前記像の光学収差を補償するための第1の取り囲みゾーンと、を含むことを特徴とするマルチゾーン単焦点眼内レンズ。 - 前記第1の取り囲みゾーンは、移植された前記眼内レンズの約0.4mmより大きい偏心により生じる前記像の収差を補償することを特徴とする請求項12に記載のマルチゾーン単焦点眼内レンズ。
- 前記第1の取り囲みゾーンは、移植された前記眼内レンズの約0.5mmより大きい偏心により生じる前記像の収差を補償することを特徴とする請求項12に記載のマルチゾーン単焦点眼内レンズ。
- 前記第1の取り囲みゾーンは、移植された前記眼内レンズの少なくとも約1度より大きい傾きにより生じる前記像の収差を補償することを特徴とする請求項12に記載のマルチゾーン単焦点眼内レンズ。
- 前記第1の取り囲みゾーンは、移植された前記眼内レンズの少なくとも約5度より大きい傾きにより生じる前記像の収差を補償することを特徴とする請求項12に記載のマルチゾーン単焦点眼内レンズ。
