Abstract
Description
タイプSK76 1760dtexの耐衝撃性のDyneema(登録商標)UHMWPE繊維を、直径が20mmのシャフトで固定された円錐形マンドレルに巻き付けた。繊維は、巻き付け時に張力がかかった状態に維持した。UHWMPE繊維の最後の巻き付け部分に、繊維の全重量に対して0.1重量%の接着結合剤(adhesive binder)を軽く吹き付けてそれらを部分的に互いに接着させた。巻き付け製品は、ホットナイフで二等分に分割し、その後でマンドレルから取り外すことによって、戦闘用ヘルメットの形状をした2つの類似したプリフォームが得られ、それぞれの重量は1140グラムであった。シャフトを取り外した後に、直径が約20mmの開口部が頂端に存在していた。次いで両方のプリフォームをしっかり密着するポリエチレンフィルムエンベロープに封じ込め、それを真空にした。次いでエンベロープを有するプリフォームを圧縮成形機の2つの金型半体部分(mould halves)の間に入れ、閉じられた位置で2つの金型半体部分の間に自由空間を7mmだけ残した。金型半体部分を加熱して140℃の高温にした。165バールの高圧を、約60分間の間プリフォームに加えた。圧力下で80℃まで冷ました後、圧縮成形されたヘルメットを金型半体部分から取り出し、エッジ仕上げを行った。ヘルメットの最終重量は0.98kgであり、頭部の開口部の直径は圧縮成形時に縮小して10mmになった。開口部は、取り付け栓を挿入して閉じた。
Dyneema(登録商標)HB25シートの38の層の平らなスタックを、140℃の温度、165バールの高圧において約60分間の間、2つの金型半体部分の間で圧縮成形した。圧縮成形の間に、その平らなスタックは変形して立体的形状のヘルメットになった。圧力下で80℃まで冷ました後、そのヘルメットを金型半体部分から取り出し、エッジ仕上げを行った。
本発明に従って製造されたヘルメットの特性の要約を表1に示す。
Claims (14)
- 曲面製品の製造方法であって、複数の延伸ポリマー補強要素をマンドレル上に配置することと、前記要素の少なくとも一部を互いに局部的に接着することと、前記製品を前記マンドレルから取り外すこととを含む、方法。
- 前記要素の少なくとも一部を互いに局部的に接着するステップが、前記延伸ポリマー補強要素をその溶融温度より上に局部的に上げて、それらを融合させることを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記要素の少なくとも一部を互いに局部的に接着するステップが、結合剤を前記延伸ポリマー補強要素に局部的に施し、前記結合剤を凝固させることを含む、請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 前記方法が、前記補強要素よりも低い融点を有する高分子フィルム層を前記曲面製品に設けることをさらに含む、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記曲面製品を、前記製品の外面および/または内面に接触する高分子フィルムのエンベロープ内に封入し、そのエンベロープを真空にする、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記延伸ポリマー補強要素が、少なくとも1.6GPaの強さを有する繊維および/またはフィルムおよび/またはテープを含む、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記延伸ポリマー補強要素が、超高分子量ポリエチレンの繊維および/またはフィルムおよび/またはテープを含む、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 複数の補強要素が供給手段によって同時にマンドレル上に配置される、請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記供給手段が、前記マンドレルの表面と前記供給手段との間の補強要素の張力を制御する、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記補強要素の一部が、少なくとも部分的に非最短線のパターンで配置される、請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 曲面物品の製造方法であって、請求項1〜10のいずれか一項に記載の方法で得られた曲面製品を金型内に入れ、前記プリフォームを高温高圧で圧縮することを含む、方法。
