Abstract

Claims (10)
- 円筒形部品(12)を支持するための装置(18)であって、
半球状凹面形状を有する上面(40)を備えた受台(28)と、
受台(28)の上面(40)に位置しかつ該上面(40)内に凹設された潤滑剤リザーバ(46)と、
潤滑剤リザーバ(46)に潤滑剤を送給するための手段(48、54)と、
受台(28)の上面(40)上に支持されたキャリッジ(30)と、
を含み、
キャリッジ(30)が、上部表面及び対向配置された下部表面(50)を有し、
上部表面が、円筒形部品(12)と接触しかつ該円筒形部品(12)を回転可能に支持するための接触手段(56、58、64)を含み、
下部表面(50)が、受台(28)の上面(40)と係合しかつ該受台(28)の上面(40)の半球状凹面形状と相補的な半球状凸面形状を有し、
キャリッジ(30)の下部表面(50)及び受台(28)の上面(40)が、潤滑剤リザーバ(46)の周りにエンクロージャを形成する、
装置(18)。 - 接触手段(56、58、64)がキャリッジ(30)の上部表面に回転可能に取付けられたローラ(64)を含む、請求項1記載の装置(18)。
- 接触手段(56、58、64)が静圧軸受手段(56)を含む、請求項1記載の装置(18)。
- 接触手段(56、58、64)がV字形ブロック(58)を含む、請求項1又は請求項3記載の装置(18)。
- キャリッジ(30)を受台(28)に結合するための手段(44、52)をさらに含む、請求項1乃至請求項4のいずれか1項記載の装置(18)。
- 結合手段(44、52)が、キャリッジ(30)を受台(28)上に固定しかつ移動不能にするように作動可能である、請求項5記載の装置(18)。
- 潤滑剤を送給するための手段(48、54)が、潤滑剤リザーバ(46)内の圧力を増大させてキャリッジ(30)の下部表面(50)を受台(28)の上面(40)から流体的に切離し、それによって接触手段(56、58、64)が円筒形部品(12)と接触状態になった時に該キャリッジ(30)及び該キャリッジ(30)の接触手段(56、58、64)が自己整列するのを可能にするための手段(54)を含む、請求項1乃至請求項6のいずれか1項記載の装置(18)。
- 受台(28)及びキャリッジ(30)を支持するテーブル(24)と、
テーブル(24)を上昇及び下降させるための手段(26)と、
をさらに含む、請求項1乃至請求項7のいずれか1項記載の装置(18)。 - 装置(18)は、円筒形部品(12)が装置上に支持されている間に、該円筒形部品(12)と結合しかつ該円筒形部品(12)を回転させるように構成されたモータ(14)に隣接している、請求項1乃至請求項8のいずれか1項記載の装置(18)。
- 円筒形部品(12)を支持する方法であって、
受台(28)上に支持されたキャリッジ(30)の上方に円筒形部品(12)を支持するステップと、
キャリッジ(30)及び受台(28)間に十分な潤滑剤圧力を形成して、該キャリッジ(30)の下部表面(50)を該受台(28)の上面(40)から流体的に切離すステップと、
受台(28)及びキャリッジ(30)を共に上昇させて、円筒形部品(12)を該キャリッジ(30)と係合させるステップと、
を含み、
キャリッジ(30)の下部表面(50)を受台(28)の上面(40)から流体的に切離すステップにより、該キャリッジ(30)が円筒形部品(12)と自己整列できるようにする、方法。
