Claims (10)
- ブラック映像を各々含む左眼映像及び右眼映像を順次に表示する表示パネルと、
前記表示パネルの外側に配置されて前記左眼映像及び前記右眼映像が互いに異なる偏光方向を有するように変更する偏光パネルと、を備えることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 前記左眼映像及び前記右眼映像は、フレーム単位で偏光方向が変更され、一フレーム内に視認可能な映像が表示される表示区間と前記ブラック映像が表示される非表示区間とをすべて含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記表示パネルは、
下部表示板と、
前記下部表示板に対向して配置される上部表示板と、
前記下部表示板及び前記上部表示板の外側に各々配置された第1偏光フィルム及び第2偏光フィルムと、を含むことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の表示装置。 - 前記表示パネルは、前記左眼映像及び前記右眼映像が表示される複数の画素、及び前記画素を制御するスイッチング素子を更に含み、
前記スイッチング素子は、一フレームのあいだ2回スイッチング動作することを特徴とする請求項3に記載の表示装置。 - 前記偏光パネルは、
第1スイッチング基板と、
前記第1スイッチング基板に対向する第2スイッチング基板と、
前記第1スイッチング基板と前記第2スイッチング基板との間に介在する液晶層と、を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 前記偏光パネルは、前記左眼映像及び前記右眼映像を交互に変更することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記偏光パネルを通過した前記左眼映像及び前記右眼映像は、位相差が90°であることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の表示装置。
- 前記偏光パネルは、複数の領域に分割されたスイッチング面を含み、該各スイッチング面は各々独立的に作動することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記表示パネルに交差して形成されたゲート線及びデータ線を更に含み、
前記スイッチング面は、前記ゲート線に沿って分割され、前記データ線に沿って順次に前記左眼映像及び前記右眼映像の偏光方向を変更することを特徴とする請求項8に記載の表示装置。 - 前記表示パネルに交差して形成されたゲート線及びデータ線を更に含み、
前記スイッチング面は、上記ゲート線に沿って分割され、
前記左眼映像及び前記右眼映像は、スイッチング面単位で偏光方向が変更され、一フレーム内に視認可能な映像が表示される表示区間及び前記ブラック映像が表示される非表示区間をすべて含み、前記スイッチング面の数をn個とするとき、前記表示区間と前記非表示区間との比はn−1:1であることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の表示装置。
