Abstract
【解決手段】互いに対向配置したアレイ基板と対向基板との間に液晶層を介在する。アレイ基板と対向基板との間に、アレイ基板と対向基板との間の間隙を保持する複数のスペーサ15を、表示領域28の端部側から表示領域28の中央側の所定位置へと面密度が連続的に変化するように配置する。表示領域28内に発生するアレイ基板と対向基板との間の間隙のむらを低減できる。

Claims (2)
- 互いに対向配置された一対の基板と、これら基板間に介在された光変調層と、一対の前記基板間に配置され、これら基板間の間隙を保持する複数の間隙保持部材とを具備し、複数の画素を有する表示領域が形成された表示素子であって、
前記間隙保持部材は、前記表示領域の端部側から前記表示領域の中央側の所定位置へと面密度が連続的に変化するように配置されている
ことを特徴とする表示素子。 - 前記基板のいずれか一方は、前記表示領域の外方に遮光層を備え、
前記間隙保持部材は、前記遮光層と同一の材料により形成されている
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の表示素子。
