Claims (20)
- 光が入射する一の第1の面と、当該第1の面と鋭角をなす一の第2の面とを含む一の第1のプリズムと、
前記第1のプリズムの前記第2の面に面するよう配置される一の第2のプリズムと、
前記第1のプリズムの前記第2の面に隣接する一の多層複屈折スタックと、
前記多層複屈折スタックと前記第2のプリズムとの間の一の二色性コーティングと、
を含む、偏光ビームスプリッタ。 - 前記多層複屈折スタックは、一軸性ポリマー複屈折材料の層が交互にされる複数の交互層を含み、
前記複数の交互層は、一の共通光軸を有する、請求項1に記載の偏光ビームスプリッタ。 - 前記二色性コーティングは、前記第1のプリズムの前記第2の面に面する前記第2のプリズムの一の面上に被覆される、高屈折率材料の層及び低屈折率材料の層が交互にされる複数の交互層を含む、請求項1に記載の偏光ビームスプリッタ。
- 前記多層複屈折スタックは、第1の波長レンジのs偏光を反射するよう動作可能であり、
前記二色性コーティングは、第2の波長レンジのs偏光を反射するよう動作可能である、請求項1に記載の偏光ビームスプリッタ。 - 前記第1の波長レンジは、可視スペクトルの緑部分を表し、
前記第2の波長レンジは、可視スペクトルの赤部分を表す、請求項4に記載の偏光ビームスプリッタ。 - 前記第1の波長レンジは、可視スペクトルの青部分を表し、
前記第2の波長レンジは、可視スペクトルの赤部分を表す、請求項4に記載の偏光ビームスプリッタ。 - 前記多層複屈折スタックは、第1の波長レンジのs偏光を反射するよう最適化される、請求項2に記載の偏光ビームスプリッタ。
- 前記二色性コーティングは、第2の波長レンジのs偏光を反射するよう最適化される、請求項3に記載の偏光ビームスプリッタ。
- 前記第1のプリズム及び前記第2のプリズムは、低鉛含有量のガラスを含む、請求項1に記載の偏光ビームスプリッタ。
- 前記低鉛含有量のガラスは、0.2nm/cm/105Paより大きい光弾性定数を有する、請求項9に記載の偏光ビームスプリッタ。
- 前記多層複屈折スタック及び前記二色性コーティングは、組み合わせで、第3の波長レンジにおけるs偏光を抑制するよう動作可能である、請求項5に記載の偏光ビームスプリッタ。
- 前記第3の波長レンジは、可視スペクトルの黄部分を表す、請求項11に記載の偏光ビームスプリッタ。
- 偏光を選択的に反射及び透過する一の光学界面を有する偏光ビームスプリッタ(PBS)であって、
前記光学界面は、
一の多層複屈折スタックと、
前記多層複屈折スタックに隣接する一の二色性コーティングと、
を含み、
前記多層複屈折スタックは、入射s偏光を第1の方向に反射し、入射p偏光を第2の方向に透過するよう動作可能であり、
前記二色性コーティングは、s偏光を第3の方向に反射するよう動作可能である、PBS。 - 一の第1のガラスプリズムと、
一の第2のガラスプリズムと、
をさらに含み、
前記第1のガラスプリズム及び前記第2のガラスプリズムは、前記多層複屈折スタック及び前記二色性コーティングを挟む、請求項13に記載のPBS。 - 前記第1のガラスプリズム及び前記第2のガラスプリズムは、低鉛含有量のガラスを含む、請求項14に記載のPBS。
- 一の光学界面を有する一の第1の偏光ビームスプリッタ(PBS)と、
一の第2のPBSと、
前記第1のPBS及び前記第2のPBSからの光を合成し、当該合成光を一の出力ポートを通り出力させるよう動作可能な一の第3のPBSと、
を含み、
前記光学界面は、一の多層複屈折スタックと、当該多層複屈折スタックに隣接する一の二色性コーティングとを含む、プロジェクションシステム。 - 前記多層複屈折スタックは、第1の偏光状態を有する入射光を一の第1の変調パネルに向けて反射し、第2の偏光状態を有する入射光を一の第2の変調パネルに向けて透過させるよう動作可能であり、
前記第1の偏光状態は、前記第2の偏光状態に対して直角であり、
前記二色性コーティングは、前記第2の変調パネルからの第1の偏光状態の光を一の出力ポートに向けて反射するよう動作可能である、請求項16に記載のプロジェクションシステム。 - 前記第2のPBSは、二色性PBS及び多層複屈折スタックPBSのいずれかである、請求項16に記載のプロジェクションシステム。
- 前記第3のPBSは、二色性PBSである、請求項16に記載のプロジェクションシステム。
- 前記第2のPBSの一のポートに位置付けられる一の第3の変調パネルをさらに含み、
前記第1の変調パネルは、緑光を変調するよう動作可能であり、
前記第2の変調パネルは、赤光を変調するよう動作可能であり、
前記第3の変調パネルは、青光を変調するよう動作可能である、請求項17に記載のプロジェクションシステム。
