Abstract
【解決手段】空気通路(短絡管)がラック内の区画室とラック外部の周囲環境空気との間、またはラック内部の複数の区画室の間に配置されている。空気通路内部のセンサが通路内の空気の移動を検出して差圧の有無を間接的に測定する。ラック内部とラック外部との空気の温度差(またはラック内部の各区画室間の温度差)を利用して、空気が空気通路を通って移動しているか否か、および空気の移動方向を判別する。制御システムは、測定結果に応じて、プレナムを微量の負圧にして、プレナムが微量の加圧になるまで排気ファンを徐々に減速する。次に、プレナムが微量の加圧になると、ファンをスピードアップしてプレナムを微量の負圧にさせる。

Claims (10)
- 1つまたは複数のコンピュータシステムを収納するラック筐体であって、
空気流れの閉じられた空間を提供する少なくとも1つの筐体内プレナムと、
筐体内プレナムと前記筐体の外側の周囲環境との間、または2つの筐体内プレナムの間に配置された短絡管と、
前記短絡管内に配置されて、前記短絡管内部の短絡空気温度を測定する少なくとも1つの温度センサと、
前記測定された短絡空気温度と、測定もしくは推定された周囲環境温度またはプレナム温度の少なくとも1つとの差から圧力を判定する圧力判定回路と、
前記判定された圧力に応じて、前記筐体に流入する空気流れまたは前記筐体から流出する空気流れを制御する空気流れ調節装置とを備えたラック筐体。 - 請求項1において、前記短絡管は前記筐体内プレナムと前記筐体の外側の周囲環境との間に配置されている、ラック筐体。
- 請求項2において、さらに、前記プレナムの1つの内部に延出する前記短絡管の端部に配置されたプレナム温度センサを備えた、ラック筐体。
- 請求項2において、さらに、前記筐体の外側の周囲環境内に延出する前記短絡管の端部に配置された周囲環境温度センサを備えた、ラック筐体。
- 請求項1において、前記短絡管は2つの前記筐体内プレナムの間に配置されている、ラック筐体。
- 請求項1において、2つの筐体内プレナムの一方が吸気プレナムで他方が排気プレナムであり、これらプレナムはそれぞれ、前記コンピュータシステム内部の吸気ファンおよび排気ファンを分離している、ラック筐体。
- 請求項1において、前記温度センサは温度勾配を提供し、この温度勾配を用いて前記圧力が判定される、ラック筐体。
- 複数のコンピュータを収納するラック筐体に冷却空気を供給または筐体から冷却空気を排気するように構成された空気流れ調節装置を制御する方法であって、
前記ラック筐体内のプレナム領域とこのプレナム領域の外部領域との間に短絡管を配置する工程と、
前記短絡管の複数の位置の温度差を測定する工程と、
前記温度差から前記短絡管を通る空気流れの方向を判別する工程と、
前記方向判別工程に応答して、空気冷却要求に一致するように、前記空気流れ調節装置を制御する工程とを備えた、空気流れ調節装置の制御方法。 - 請求項8において、空気流れの方向判別工程が、さらに、
前記短絡管の中央部分に第1温度センサを配置し、
前記短絡管の一方の端部に第2温度センサを配置する、空気流れ調節装置の制御方法。 - 請求項8において、前記ラック筐体が、さらに、吸気プレナムおよび排気プレナムを備え、前記吸気プレナムと排気プレナムとの間に前記短絡管を配置している、空気流れ調節装置の制御方法。
