Description
本発明は、シロキサンを含む耐水性石膏製品の作製方法に関する。より具体的には、本発明は、石膏製品中のシロキサンを硬化させるための新規触媒の添加に関する。
CaSO4・2H2O→CaSO4・1/2H2O+3/2H2O
により水和水の一部を飛ばすことができる。
これら及び他の必要性は、シロキサンの重合を促進し、幾つかの場合では、ASTM1398の規格を満たすために必要とされるシロキサンの量を低減する、本発明によって満たされるか又は乗り越えられる。
本発明は、重合性シロキサンを、石膏ベース物品を作製するために使用されるスラリーに添加することにより、石膏ベース物品の耐水性を改良することを広範囲に企図する。シロキサンは、エマルジョンの形態で添加することが好ましい。次いで、このスラリーを、成形し、シロキサンの重合を促進する条件下で乾燥させて、高架橋シリコーン樹脂を形成する。高架橋シリコーン樹脂を形成するために、シロキサンの重合を促進する触媒を、石膏スラリーに添加する。
(式中、Rは、一価の、飽和又は不飽和炭化水素基を表す)
の繰り返し単位を有するものを含む。好ましい実施形態では、Rはアルキル基を表し、Rはメチル基であることが最も好ましい。重合中、末端基が縮合によって除去され、シロキサン基が共に結合して、シリコーン樹脂を形成する。鎖の架橋形成も起こる。生じたシリコーン樹脂は、石膏基質が形成される際、石膏基質に耐水性を付与する。
BAYMAG 30焼殺酸化マグネシウム2グラム及びC種フライアッシュ4グラムを、表IIに指定した幾つかの供給源の各々からの漆喰500グラムに添加した。これらの乾燥成分をプラスチック袋に入れて振とうすることによりこれらを混合した。エマルジョンは、高せん断Silverson Mixer(Silverson Machines、East Longmeadow、MA)中にBS 94 シロキサン3.2グラムと水550グラムとを2.5分間混合することにより調製した。このエマルジョンを、7500rpm、10秒間での1リットルのWaring blender(Waring Products、Inc.、Torrington、CT)に移した。次いで、このスラリーを、2”×2”×2”の立方形型枠に流し込んだ。硬化後、この立方体を型から取り出してオーブン中に置き、110°Fで恒量まで乾燥した。乾燥立方体を水中に2時間浸漬して、参照により本明細書に組み込んだASTM C1396に規格されている吸水試験を行った。浸漬中の重量増分を使用して水の吸水率を算出した。
12lb/MSFシロキサンを含み、表IIIに示す酸化マグネシウム及びフライアッシュを有するスラリーの挙動を試験するために行われる商業規模試験。フライアッシュ及び酸化マグネシウムを、ミキサーに入れる前に漆喰に添加した。焼成酸化マグネシウムのブランド及び種類も表IIIに示す。
立方体を、Shoals漆喰及び0.6wt%BS 94シロキサンを使用して、実施例1に従って作製した。表IVに示すように、BayMag 30酸化マグネシウム、フライアッシュ、又はその双方のどちらかをスラリーに添加した。目標吸水率は6%であった。
石膏立方体を、表IVに示すシロキサン添加量及び触媒組成物を使用して、実施例1の方法に従って作製した。吸水試験の結果を表Vにも示す。
壁板中のこの触媒を商業規模で試験する工場試験を行った。壁板の組成物を表VIに示す。
Claims (19)
- 漆喰と、
C種フライアッシュと、
酸化マグネシウムと、
シロキサン及び水のエマルジョンと
を含むスラリー。 - 前記フライアッシュと前記酸化マグネシウムとの比が、約2:1〜約3:1である、請求項1に記載のスラリー。
- 前記フライアッシュが、漆喰乾燥重量に対して約0.1%〜約5%の量でスラリー中に存在する、請求項2に記載のスラリー。
- 前記フライアッシュが、漆喰乾燥重量に対して約0.1%〜約5%の範囲の量で存在する、請求項1に記載のスラリー。
- 前記酸化マグネシウムが、漆喰乾燥重量に対して約0.1%〜約0.5%の量で存在する、請求項1に記載のスラリー。
- 前記酸化マグネシウムが、硬焼又は焼殺酸化マグネシウムである、請求項1に記載のスラリー。
- 前記エマルジョンが、液体ポリシロキサン及び水を含む、請求項1に記載のスラリー。
- 前記シロキサンが、液体の直鎖水素変性シロキサンである、請求項1に記載のスラリー。
- デンプン、発泡剤、硬化促進剤、硬化遅延剤、殺菌剤、分散剤、繊維又は強度増強剤からなる群の少なくとも1つを更に含む、請求項1に記載のスラリー。
- 前記エマルジョンが、安定懸濁液を含む、請求項1に記載のスラリー。
- 前記懸濁液が、乳化剤を含まない、請求項1に記載のスラリー。
- シロキサン及び水でシロキサンエマルジョンを作製するステップ、
酸化マグネシウム及びC種フライアッシュを漆喰と混合するステップ、
シロキサンエマルジョンを前記漆喰/触媒混合物と混和するステップ、
スラリーを成形するステップ、
前記石膏スラリーを硬化させ、壁板心材を形成するステップ、並びに
シロキサンを重合するステップ
を含む、耐水性石膏物品を作製する方法。 - 前記作製ステップが、シロキサン及び水を高せん断ミキサー中で混合する工程を含む、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記成形ステップが、2枚の化粧材料の間にスラリーを挟んで壁板パネルを形成する工程を含む、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記混合ステップが、前記混和ステップ前に行われる、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 水として使用する計量水の測定量の一部を採るステップを更に含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 酸化マグネシウム及びC種フライアッシュ由来成分を含む触媒が全体に分散した、硫酸カルシウム二水和物結晶とシリコーン樹脂との絡み合った基質を含む心材を有する耐水性石膏パネル。
- 絡み合っている前記基質全体に分散した、デンプン、発泡剤、硬化促進剤、硬化遅延剤、殺菌剤、分散剤、繊維又は強度増強剤からなる群の少なくとも1つを更に含む、請求項17に記載のパネル。
- 前記心材が、2枚の化粧材料の間に挟まれる、請求項17に記載のパネル。
