Description
本発明は、かかる課題を解決するために、次のような手段を採用するものである。すなわち、本発明の電解質膜の製造方法は、イオン性基の金属塩を有する電解質材料を膜状に加工する工程と過熱水蒸気雰囲気下で加熱する工程を有することを特徴とするものである。
本発明の電解質膜の製造方法は、イオン性基の金属塩を有する電解質材料を膜状に加工する工程と過熱水蒸気雰囲気下で加熱する工程を有することが必要である。
本発明中の電解質材料は、加工性の観点から高分子電解質材料が好ましく、イオン性基を主鎖または側鎖に有する。イオン性基としては、スルホン酸基(−SO2(OH))、硫酸基(−OSO2(OH))、スルホンイミド基(−SO2NHSO2R(Rは有機基を表す。))、ホスホン酸基(−PO(OH)2)、リン酸基(−OPO(OH)2)、カルボン酸基( −CO(OH) )、から選択される一種以上を好ましく採用することができる。これらの酸性基は2種類以上含むことができ、組み合わせることにより好ましくなる場合がある。組み合わせはポリマーの構造などにより適宜決められる。中でも、高プロトン伝導度の点から少なくともスルホン酸基、スルホンイミド基、硫酸基のいずれかを有することがより好ましく、耐加水分解性の点から少なくともスルホン酸基を有することが最も好ましい。
本発明での過熱水蒸気雰囲気下で加熱する工程ではイオン性基の分解、脱離を防止するため、電解質膜のイオン性基は−SO3M型(Mは金属)であることが必須の実施形態である。後工程でプロトン置換してスルホン酸基とする方法が挙げられる。前記の金属Mはスルホン酸と塩を形成しうるものであればよいが、価格および環境負荷の点からはLi、Na、K、Rb、Cs、Mg、Ca、Sr、Ba、Ti、V、Mn、Fe、Co、Ni、Cu、Zn、Zr、Mo、Wなどが好ましく、これらの中でもLi、Na、K、Ca、Sr、Baがより好ましく、Li、Na、Kがさらに好ましい。

- イオン性基の金属塩を有する電解質材料を膜状に加工する工程と過熱水蒸気雰囲気下で加熱する工程を有する電解質膜の製造方法。
