Abstract
【解決手段】基板と、基板上に順次に形成された下部軟磁性層及び上部軟磁性層を備え、上部軟磁性層の異方性磁界が下部軟磁性層の異方性磁界より高く形成された複数の軟磁性層と、下部軟磁性層と上部軟磁性層との間に介在されて、下部及び上部軟磁性層の磁気的相互作用を防止する隔離層と、上部軟磁性層上に形成される底層と、底層上に形成されるものであって、複数の強磁性層を有し、底層側に位置した下部の強磁性層から上部の強磁性層へ行くほど、磁気異方性エネルギーが次第に低くなるように、それぞれの強磁性層が異なる磁気異方性エネルギーを有する記録層と、を備えることを特徴とする垂直磁気記録媒体である。

Claims (10)
- 基板と、
前記基板上に順次に形成された下部軟磁性層及び上部軟磁性層を備え、前記上部軟磁性層の異方性磁界が前記下部軟磁性層の異方性磁界より高く形成された複数の軟磁性層と、
前記下部軟磁性層と上部軟磁性層との間に介在されて、前記下部及び上部軟磁性層の磁気的相互作用を防止する隔離層と、
前記上部軟磁性層上に形成される底層と、
前記底層上に形成されるものであって、複数の強磁性層を有し、前記底層側に位置した下部の強磁性層から上部の強磁性層へ行くほど、磁気異方性エネルギーが次第に低くなるように、それぞれの強磁性層が異なる磁気異方性エネルギーを有する記録層と、を備えることを特徴とする垂直磁気記録媒体。 - 前記複数の強磁性層は、下部の強磁性層から上部の強磁性層へ行くほど小さくなる異なるPt組成を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の垂直磁気記録媒体。
- 前記複数の強磁性層は、前記底層から順次に積層される第1及び第2強磁性層を備え、
前記第1強磁性層は、FePt合金、FePt合金酸化物、CoPt合金及びCoPt合金酸化物のうちいずれか一つで形成され、
前記第2強磁性層は、CoCrPt合金酸化物で形成されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の垂直磁気記録媒体。 - 前記第2強磁性層のPt組成は、前記第1強磁性層のPt組成より小さいことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の垂直磁気記録媒体。
- 前記第1及び第2強磁性層は、グラニュラー構造で形成されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の垂直磁気記録媒体。
- 前記第2強磁性層は、グレインが磁気的に分離されたグラニュラー構造であって、前記グレインは、Co合金からなり、前記グレインの間は、酸化物が介在されたことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の垂直磁気記録媒体。
- 前記記録層は、前記複数の強磁性層上に形成されるキャッピング層をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1ないし6のうちいずれか一項に記載の垂直磁気記録媒体。
- 前記キャッピング層は、グレインに分離されず、連続的に形成されるCo合金で形成されることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の垂直磁気記録媒体。
- 前記キャッピング層は、CoCrPtBで形成されることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の垂直磁気記録媒体。
- 前記底層は、酸素が含有されたRuで形成されることを特徴とする請求項1ないし9のうちいずれか一項に記載の垂直磁気記録媒体。
