Abstract
【解決手段】所定条件の駆動信号の供給に係る各ノズルの吐出量を移動平均により算出するAステップと、各ノズルの移動平均により算出した吐出量に基づき、複数のノズルを複数のグループに分類するBステップと、グループに係る吐出量の統計値に基づいて、各グループにそれぞれ対応する駆動信号の適正条件を算出するCステップと、ノズル毎に、複数のグループにそれぞれ対応する適正条件の中から一を選択して設定するDステップと、を有する。

Description
この発明の例によれば、被吐出物上に所定の間隔で区画された区画領域に液状体を配置する際のノズルの特性に応じた駆動信号を、より高精度に設定することができる。
この発明の例によれば、ノズルの特性に応じた駆動信号を、より高精度に設定することができる。
この発明の例によれば、駆動信号の条件設定を略均等な数のノズルで構成されるグループ単位に準じて行うことができるので、特定の条件に対応するノズルの著しい集中を防ぐことができる。
尚、以下に述べる実施の形態は、本発明の好適な具体例であるから、技術的に好ましい種々の限定が付されているが、本発明の範囲は、以下の説明において特に本発明を限定する旨の記載がない限り、これらの形態に限られるものではない。また、以下の説明で参照する図では、図示の便宜上、部材ないし部分の縦横の縮尺を実際のものとは異なるように表す場合がある。
まず、図1、図2、図3を参照して、本発明に係る液状体吐出装置の機械的な構成および動作について説明する。
図1は、液状体吐出装置の要部構成を示す斜視図である。図2は、ヘッドユニットにおけるヘッドの配置構成を示す平面図である。図3は、ノズルの走査軌跡と吐出対象物との関係を示す平面図である。
次に、図4、図5を参照して、本発明に係る液状体吐出装置の電気的な構成および動作について説明する。
図4は、ヘッド駆動に係る液状体吐出装置の電気的構成を示す図である。図5は、駆動信号および制御信号のタイミング図である。
次に、図4、図6、図7、図8、図9を参照して、各ノズルの駆動信号の適正条件(駆動電圧Vh)を設定するための方法について説明する。
図6は、駆動信号の設定を行うための装置構成を示すブロック図である。図7は、駆動信号設定のための処理フローを示すフローチャートである。図8は、ヘッド走査に係るノズルと区画領域との関係を示す平面図である。図9は、ノズル毎の吐出量の分布とグループ分類を示す図である。
これに対して、図10(b)に示すように、本発明の駆動信号設定方法を用いた場合には、各ノズルの吐出量の平均値が均一化しており、上述したうねりも解消し、吐出量のバラツキは低く抑えられている。このように、移動平均によりスムージングされたデータを用いて、駆動信号の波形を調整すれば、ムラなく液状体を吐出させることが可能である。
例えば、本発明に係る液状体吐出ヘッドを利用した液状体配置の別の例として、例えば、プラズマディスプレイ装置における蛍光膜の形成、有機ELディスプレイにおける素子膜の形成、あるいは、電気回路における導電配線や抵抗素子の形成などが挙げられる。
また、実施形態の各構成はこれらを適宜組み合わせたり、省略したり、図示しない他の構成と組み合わせたりすることができる。
Claims (8)
- 一方向に配列された複数のノズルと、前記ノズル毎に設けられた駆動素子とを備える液状体吐出ヘッドにおいて、前記ノズルから被吐出物上に液状体を吐出する際に前記駆動素子に供給する駆動信号の条件を設定する駆動信号設定方法であって、
(a)所定条件の駆動信号の供給に係る各ノズルの吐出量を移動平均により算出するAステップと、
(b)前記各ノズルの移動平均により算出した吐出量に基づき、前記複数のノズルを複数のグループに分類するBステップと、
(c)前記グループに係る吐出量の統計値に基づいて、前記各グループにそれぞれ対応する駆動信号の適正条件を算出するCステップと、
(d)前記ノズル毎に、前記複数のグループにそれぞれ対応する適正条件の中から一を選択して設定するDステップと、を有する駆動信号設定方法。 - 請求項1に記載の駆動信号設定方法であって、
前記Aステップにおいて、前記被吐出物上に所定の間隔で区画された区画領域に対応するノズルのピッチ数N1に対して、前記移動平均の算出に使用するデータ数nを、n≦N1(但し、n,N1は2以上の整数。)とする、駆動信号設定方法。 - 請求項1に記載の駆動信号設定方法であって、
前記Aステップにおいて、前記被吐出物上に所定の間隔で区画された区画領域に適合するノズル数N2に対して、前記移動平均の算出に使用するデータ数nを、n≦N2(但し、n,N2は2以上の整数。)とする、駆動信号設定方法。 - 請求項1ないし3に記載の駆動信号設定方法であって、
前記Dステップにおいて、前記複数のグループにそれぞれ対応する適正条件のうち、当該ノズルの前記吐出量に最も近い前記統計値に係るグループに対応するものを選択して設定する、駆動信号設定方法。 - 請求項1ないし4に記載の駆動信号設定方法であって、
前記複数のグループを略均等な数のノズルでそれぞれ構成する、駆動信号設定方法。 - 請求項1ないし5のいずれか一項に記載の駆動信号設定方法であって、
前記グループに係る吐出量の統計値が、当該グループ内のノズルにおける前記吐出量の平均値である、駆動信号設定方法。 - 請求項1ないし5のいずれか一項に記載の駆動信号設定方法であって、
前記グループに係る吐出量の統計値が、当該グループ内のノズルにおける前記吐出量の中央値である、駆動信号設定方法。 - 請求項1ないし7のいずれか一項に記載の駆動信号設定方法であって、
前記駆動信号の条件が駆動信号の電圧成分である、駆動信号設定方法。
