Abstract
【解決手段】複数の画素10を配列した表示領域15と、該複数の画素を駆動するための表示用走査回路17と信号駆動回路16、および複数の画素のそれぞれを信号駆動回路からの表示信号に応じた輝度で発光させるための電流を供給する電源回路18を有する表示部100と、環境温度を検出する定電流駆動のモニター素子20と、複数の定電流源25,26と、モニター素子20により画素10の発光輝度に関わる電圧値を検出して電源回路18の出力電圧を制御する信号を生成すると共に、検出部で検出された電圧値に応じてモニター素子20の定電流源を切り換える検出部200とで構成される。

Description
環境温度を検出する定電流駆動のモニター素子と、複数の定電流源と、前記モニター素子により前記画素の発光輝度に関わる電圧値を検出して前記電源回路の出力電圧を制御する信号を生成すると共に、前記検出部で検出された電圧値に応じて前記モニター素子の定電流源を切り換える検出部とで構成される。
複数の定電流値を出力する電流源と、前記電流源の一つを選択する検知部切換手段と、前記信号駆動回路に接続して前記信号線に供給する表示信号を補正する信号補正制御部を有する検知部とで構成される。
Claims (7)
- 複数のセレクトスイッチ線と、前記セレクトスイッチ線と交差する複数の信号線の各交差部近傍に形成した画素を備えた表示領域と、前記セレクトスイッチ線にセレクト信号を印加する表示用走査回路と、前記信号線に表示信号を供給する信号駆動回路と、前記複数の画素のそれぞれに前記信号駆動回路からの表示信号に応じた輝度で発光させるための電流を供給する電源線と、該電源線に電流を供給する電源回路を有する表示部と、
環境温度を検出する定電流駆動のモニター素子と、複数の定電流値を出力する電流源と、前記モニター素子の検出動作により前記画素の発光輝度に関わる電圧値を検出して前記電源回路の出力電圧を制御する電源制御信号と前記検出された電圧値に応じて前記モニター素子に供給する定電流値を変更する電流源制御信号を生成する検知部とを備え、
前記検知部では、環境温度の変動に対応して前記電流源の定電流値を切り換える検知部切換手段を有すると共に、前記表示領域の画素に電流を供給する電源回路の電圧を変更する電源制御部を有することを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1において、
前記モニター素子は有機EL素子であり、前記複数の定電流値を出力する電流源は電流値が異なる高圧側電流源と低圧側電流源で構成され、
前記検知部切換手段は、前記高圧側電流源と低圧側電流源の各出力と前記有機EL素子との間に挿入されて、前記高圧側電流源と低圧側電流源の一方の出力と前記有機EL素子を択一的に選択する切り換えスイッチで構成したことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1において、
前記モニター素子は有機EL素子であり、前記複数の定電流値を出力する電流源は異なる抵抗値をもつ第1と第2の外付抵抗素子を備えたバンドギャップ型定電流源で構成され、
前記検知部切換手段は、前記第1と第2の外付抵抗素子と前記バンドギャップ型定電流源の間にそれぞれ挿入されて、前記有機EL素子に出力する前記バンドギャップ型定電流源の出力を択一的に選択する切り換えスイッチで構成したことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項2において、
前記セレクトスイッチ線と平行な方向に設けて前記画素の電流値を検出する検出制御線と、
前記検出制御線に走査信号を印加する検出用走査回路と、
前記信号線に対して前記信号線駆動回路と前記電流源の間を択一的に選択する切換スイッチを備え、
表示モードでは、前記切換スイッチは前記信号線に前記信号線駆動回路を接続し、
検出モードでは、前記切換スイッチは前記信号線に前記電流源を接続し、前記検知部の検出結果に応じて前記電源制御部が前記電源回路の電圧を変更することを特徴とする表示装置。 - 複数のセレクトスイッチ線と、前記セレクトスイッチ線と交差する複数の信号線の各交差部近傍に形成した画素を備えた表示領域と、前記セレクトスイッチ線にセレクト信号を印加する表示用走査回路と、前記信号線に表示信号を供給する信号駆動回路と、前記複数の画素のそれぞれに前記信号駆動回路からの表示信号に応じた輝度で発光させるための電流を供給する電源線と、該電源線に電流を供給する電源回路と、前記セレクトスイッチ線と平行な方向に設けて前記画素の電流値を検出する検出制御線と、前記検出制御線に走査信号を印加する検出用走査回路を有する表示部と、
複数の定電流値を出力する電流源と、前記電流源の一つを選択する検知部切換手段と、前記信号駆動回路に接続して前記信号線に供給する表示信号を補正する信号補正制御部を有する検知部を備え、
前記表示部に、前記信号線に対して前記信号駆動回路と前記検知部切換手段を択一的に選択する表示部切換手段を有することを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項5において、
前記複数の定電流値を出力する電流源は電流値が異なる高圧側電流源と低圧側電流源で構成され、
前記検知部切換手段は、前記高圧側電流源と低圧側電流源を前記信号線に択一的に選択する切り換えスイッチで構成され、
前記表示部切換手段が前記高圧側電流源からの電流を前記信号線に供給した時の当該電流値が所定値以上である場合に、前記検知部切換手段の前記切り換えスイッチが前記低圧側電流源に切り換えることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項5において、
前記複数の定電流値を出力する電流源は異なる抵抗値をもつ第1と第2の外付抵抗素子を備えたバンドギャップ型定電流源で構成され、
前記検知部切換手段は、前記第1と第2の外付抵抗素子と前記バンドギャップ型定電流源の間にそれぞれ挿入されて、前記バンドギャップ型定電流源の出力を択一的に選択する切り換えスイッチで構成したことを特徴とする表示装置。
