Claims (6)
- リーンバーンエンジンを有する自動車の排ガス浄化装置中でプライマリ触媒として使用される窒素酸化物吸蔵触媒の窒素酸化物吸蔵能を監視する方法であって、該装置はプライマリ触媒と、同様に窒素酸化物吸蔵触媒として形成されているメイン触媒とを有し、その際、触媒システムはそのつど、触媒システムの後方での窒素酸化物のスリップの評価が再生基準を超えた場合に、エンジンがリーンバーン運転からリッチバーン運転へと短時間切り替わることによって再生される触媒システムである、窒素酸化物の吸蔵能の監視法において、プライマリ触媒の窒素酸化物吸蔵能は、触媒システムの再生の際に、プライマリ触媒とメイン触媒との間で、リッチな排ガスの出現が記録されると、リッチバーン運転が終了し、かつリーンバーン運転へ切り替えられ、かつリーンバーン運転に切り替えられた後、改めて触媒システムの後方で再生基準を超えるまでの時間が、窒素酸化物吸蔵能のための指標として測定されることにより監視されることを特徴とする、プライマリ触媒の窒素酸化物の吸蔵能の監視法。
- 再生の基準として、触媒システムの後方の排ガス中の窒素酸化物濃度が規定の値を越えることが選択されていることを特徴とする、請求項1記載の方法。
- 再生の基準として、触媒システムの後方の排ガス中の累積された窒素酸化物量が規定の値を越えることが選択されていることを特徴とする、請求項1記載の方法。
- リーンバーンエンジンが、ウォールガイド方式またはスプレーガイド方式のリーンバーンエンジンであることを特徴とする、請求項1記載の方法。
- プライマリ触媒および該触媒とは離れた位置に存在するメイン触媒とを有し、これらの触媒が窒素酸化物吸蔵触媒として形成されており、ならびに酸素センサをプライマリ触媒とメイン触媒との間に、および窒素酸化物センサをメイン触媒の後方に有する、請求項1から4までのいずれか1項記載の方法を実施するための排ガス浄化装置。
- 酸素センサが、線形のラムダゾンデであるか、またはブロック信号式のラムダゾンデであることを特徴とする、請求項5記載の排ガス浄化装置。
