Description
本願は、2004年10月1日付けの米国仮特許出願第60/615,129号の利益を主張するものである。
修飾顔料と遊離バインダーを用いるインクジェットインク
表1に示す成分を有するインクジェットインク調合物A−Dを作製した。調合物Eに示す成分を有する定着液も作製した。定着液はまた、acid blue 9を含んでいる。
調合物A−Dの耐久性能
画像は、実施例1記載のインクジェットインク調合物を用いてHP Bright White紙上に印刷した。その印刷画像に対して定着液調合物Eを下刷りした。次いで、印刷画像のODを判定した。ODは、Amazys Holding AG(以前のGretagMacbeth Holding AG)から入手可能なMacBethデンシトメータを用いて測定した。
実施例3
比較的低分子量のポリマーを有する修飾顔料を用いたインクジェットインク
表4に示す成分を有するインクジェットインク調合物F、G、及びHを作製した。
実施例4
調合物F−Hの耐久性能
実施例3記載のインクジェットインク調合物を、HP Bright White媒体上に印刷した。各インクジェットインク調合物を単独で印刷し、また定着液の下刷りをした。先述のように、OD及び湿潤スマッジ試験を、各調合物について実施した。これらの試験結果を表5−6に示す。
Claims (15)
- 湿潤スマッジに対する高い耐性をもたらす印刷システムであって:
遊離バインダーと修飾顔料とを含むインクジェットインクであって、前記修飾顔料が、顔料の表面に結合された約4000以上の分子量を有するポリマーを含む、インクジェットインク;
定着液;及び
多孔質印刷媒体、
を包含する、印刷システム。 - 湿潤スマッジに対する高い耐性を有する印刷画像を生成する方法であって:
多孔質印刷媒体を設けること;
前記多孔質印刷媒体にインクジェットインクを適用することであって、前記インクジェットインクが、遊離バインダーと、表面にポリマーが結合している修飾顔料とを含み、前記ポリマーが、約4000以上の分子量を有する、適用すること;及び
前記多孔質印刷媒体に定着液を適用すること、
を包含する、方法。 - 前記遊離バインダーが、ポリエチレンイミン、ポリグアニド、スチレン無水マレイン酸イミド、第四級アンモニウム化合物、スチレン−アクリルポリマー、スチレン無水マレイン酸ポリマー、ポリウレタン、及びそれらの混合物から成る群から選択されるポリマーを含む、請求項1又は2に記載の印刷システム及び方法。

- 前記遊離バインダー混合物が、スチレン−アクリルポリマー、スチレン無水マレイン酸ポリマー、ポリウレタン、及びそれらの混合物から成る群から選択される少なくとも2つのポリマーを含む、請求項5又は6に記載の印刷システム及び方法。
- 前記遊離バインダー混合物中の少なくとも2つのポリマーの分子量比が、約0.001〜約10の範囲にある、請求項5又は6に記載の印刷システム及び方法。
- 前記遊離バインダー混合物中の少なくとも2つのポリマーの分子量比が、約1〜約10の範囲にある、請求項5又は6に記載の印刷システム及び方法。
- 前記遊離バインダー混合物中の第一ポリマーが、前記遊離バインダー混合物中の第二ポリマーの分子量より低い分子量を有する、請求項5又は6に記載の印刷システム及び方法。
- 前記遊離バインダー混合物中の少なくとも2つのポリマーの電荷が、前記修飾顔料の前記ポリマーの電荷と同一である、請求項5又は6に記載の印刷システム及び方法。
- 前記顔料の表面に結合している前記ポリマーが、約4000〜約17500の範囲の分子量を有する、請求項5又は6に記載の印刷システム及び方法。
- 前記多孔質印刷媒体に定着液を適用することが、前記インクジェットインクに関して前記定着液を下刷りすることを包含する、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記多孔質印刷媒体に定着液を適用することが、前記インクジェットインクに関して前記定着液を上刷りすることを包含する、請求項6に記載の方法。
