Abstract
【解決手段】カラーフィルタ基板は、ベース基板、白色遮光部、及びカラーフィルタ層を含む。白色遮光部はベース基板上に形成され、ベース基板を透過領域と遮光領域とに分ける。カラーフィルタ層は、透過領域に形成される。これによって、画素部の境界を区分し、遮光機能を有する遮光パターンを白色に形成することによって白色輝度の特性を向上させることができる。

Claims (20)
- ベース基板と、
前記ベース基板上に形成され、前記ベース基板を透過領域と遮光領域とに分ける白色遮光部と、
前記透過領域に形成されたカラーフィルタ層と、
を含むこと特徴とするカラーフィルタ基板。 - 前記カラーフィルタ層上に形成され、複数の電気泳動粒子を有する電気泳動層を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のカラーフィルタ基板。
- 前記ベース基板と前記電気泳動層との間に透明な導電性物質で形成された共通電極を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項2に記載のカラーフィルタ基板。
- 前記白色遮光部は、前記ベース基板と、前記電気泳動層を収容する画素空間を定義する隔壁パターンとの間に形成されることを特徴とする請求項2に記載のカラーフィルタ基板。
- 前記白色遮光部は、薄膜形状を有することを特徴とする請求項4に記載のカラーフィルタ基板。
- 前記隔壁パターンは、白色物質で形成されることを特徴とする請求項4に記載のカラーフィルタ基板。
- 前記白色遮光部は、前記電気泳動層を収容する画素空間を定義する白色隔壁パターンであることを特徴とする請求項2に記載のカラーフィルタ基板。
- 前記白色遮光部は、酸化チタンまたは酸化アルミニウムを含む物質で形成されるか、あるいはアクリル系樹脂、ポリスチレン、ポリエステルを含む高分子白色物質で形成されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のカラーフィルタ基板。
- 第1ベース基板上に形成された複数の画素電極を含むアレイ基板と、
第2ベース基板上に形成された白色遮光部と前記白色遮光部によって定義された透過領域に形成されたカラーフィルタ層とを含むカラーフィルタ基板と、
前記アレイ基板と前記カラーフィルタ基板との間に介在され、電気泳動粒子を含む電気泳動層と、
を含むことを特徴とする電気泳動表示装置。 - 前記カラーフィルタ基板は、前記第2ベース基板と前記電気泳動層との間に透明導電性物質で形成された共通電極を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項9に記載の電気泳動表示装置。
- 前記電気泳動層は、電気泳動粒子を有する複数のマイクロカプセルを含むことを特徴とする請求項9に記載の電気泳動表示装置。
- 前記白色遮光部は、前記画素電極が形成された領域の間に対応する前記第2ベース基板の領域に形成されることを特徴とする請求項9に記載の電気泳動表示装置。
- 前記画素電極上に形成され、前記電気泳動層を収容する複数の画素空間を定義する隔壁パターンを更に含むことを特徴とする請求項12に記載の電気泳動表示装置。
- 前記白色遮光部は、前記第2ベース基板と前記隔壁パターンとの間に形成されることを特徴とする請求項13に記載の電気泳動表示装置。
- 前記隔壁パターンは、白色物質からなることを特徴とする請求項13に記載の電気泳動表示装置。
- 前記白色遮光部は、前記電気泳動層を収容する画素空間を形成する白色隔壁パターンであることを特徴とする請求項12に記載の電気泳動表示装置。
- 前記白色遮光部は、酸化チタンまたは酸化アルミニウムを含む物質で形成されるか、あるいはアクリル系樹脂、ポリスチレン、ポリエステルを含む高分子白色物質で形成されることを特徴とする請求項9に記載の電気泳動表示装置。
- 前記第1ベース基板は、光を遮断及び反射することを特徴とする請求項9に記載の電気泳動表示装置。
- 前記アレイ基板は、複数の画素電極と電気的に接続された複数のスイッチング素子を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項9に記載の電気泳動表示装置。
- 複数の電極を有するアレイ基板を形成し、
白色遮光部を有するカラーフィルタ基板を形成し、
前記アレイ基板と前記カラーフィルタ基板との間に複数の電気泳動粒子を有する電気泳動層を形成すること、
を含むことを特徴とする電気泳動表示装置の白色光特性の向上方法。
