Claims (25)
- 先端領域および基端領域を有するバルーンカテーテルであって、
該先端領域から延びて該基端領域へ達し、かつ、それらの領域の間に作業ルーメンを形成する長尺状シャフトと、該長尺状シャフトは内面および外面を有することと、
該長尺状シャフトの外面の先端領域の一部に沿って配置されるコンプライアントな膨張バルーンと、それにより該シャフトは該バルーンを貫通して延びることと、
該バルーンと連通する膨張ルーメンを有する外側膨張要素と、該外側膨張要素は該長尺状シャフトの外面に沿って長手方向に配置されることとを特徴とするバルーンカテーテル。 - 前記外側膨張要素は、前記シャフトの基端領域から延びて前記バルーンに達するとともに、前記バルーン内に先端部を有する請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記膨張要素はハイポチューブからなる請求項2に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記膨張要素の先端領域はポリマーチューブを備える請求項3に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記ポリマーチューブはブレードにより補強されたポリマーチューブである請求項4に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記膨張要素は弾性材料から形成される請求項2に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記ハイポチューブはニチノールから形成される請求項3に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記膨張ルーメンは前記シャフトの径よりも小さい径を有する請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記膨張要素は、該膨張要素および前記シャフトに沿ってポリマーからなる薄壁を収縮させることにより、前記シャフトの外面に取り付けられる請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記膨張要素は接着剤により前記シャフトの外面に取り付けられる請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記膨張要素は熱接合により前記シャフトの外面に取り付けられる請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記バルーンはシリコーン、ウレタン、またはポリイソプレンから形成される請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記シャフトは内部金属ブレードを含む請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記シャフトは内部金属コイルを含む請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記膨張要素の基端部は、前記膨張ルーメンを可逆的に封止するように形成された封止部材を含む請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記封止部材はバルブである請求項15に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記膨張要素は前記シャフトに沿って配置されたスリーブからなり、該スリーブは該シャフトの基端領域から延びて該シャフトの先端部の基端側に達することと、該スリーブは該シャフトから離間されて前記バルーンと連通する環状膨張ルーメンを形成することとを特徴とする請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記バルーンの先端部は前記シャフトの先端領域に対して連結され、前記バルーンの基端部は前記スリーブの先端部に対して連結される請求項17に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記スリーブは、単一のポリマー層からなるととともに、その基端部において膨張ハブに対して連結される請求項18に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記環状膨張ルーメンは前記スリーブの先端部において約0.002インチ(約0.00508cm)の径を有する請求項17に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記環状膨張ルーメンは前記スリーブの基端部において約0.004インチ(約0.01016cm)の径を有する請求項17に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記スリーブの厚さが先端部へ向かってテーパ状をなし、前記作業ルーメンの径が前記シャフトの全長にわたって一定であることにより、テーパ状をなす先端領域を備えるカテーテルが形成される請求項17に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記作業ルーメンの径が先端部へ向かってテーパ状をなし、前記スリーブの厚さが一定であることにより、テーパ状をなす先端領域を備えるカテーテルが形成される請求項17に記載のカテーテル。
- ガイドカテーテルアセンブリであって、
先端部と基端部とを有する長尺状シャフトと、
該先端部から延びて該基端部へ達する作業ルーメンと、
該先端部の基端側の該シャフトに沿って配置されたコンプライアントな膨張バルーンと、
膨張ルーメンを有する外側膨張要素と、該外側膨張要素は該シャフトの外面に沿って長手方向に延び、かつ該シャフトの外面に対して連結されることと、
該バルーンの先端部は該シャフトの外面に取り付けられ、該バルーンの基端部は該シャフトの外面および該外側膨張要素の先端部に対して連結されることと、該膨張ルーメンは該バルーンの内部と連通することとを特徴とするガイドカテーテルアセンブリ。 - ガイドカテーテルアセンブリであって、
先端部と基端部とを有する長尺状シャフトと、
該先端部から延びて該基端部へ達する作業ルーメンと、
該先端部の基端側の該シャフトに沿って配置されたコンプライアントな膨張バルーンと、
膨張ルーメンを有する外側膨張要素と、該外側膨張要素は該シャフトの外面に沿って長手方向に延び、かつ該シャフトの外面に対して連結されることと、
該バルーンの先端部は該シャフトの外面に対して連結され、該バルーンの基端部は該外側膨張要素の先端部に対して連結されることと、該膨張ルーメンは該バルーンの内部と連通することとを特徴とするガイドカテーテルアセンブリ。
