発明の分野
本発明は一般には冶金粉末組成物、それから作られた製品、およびその作成法に関する。より詳細には、本発明は磁気−流動学的(magneto−rheological)組成物に関する。

詳細な説明
本発明は冶金粉末組成物懸濁物、それを包含する製品、およびその作成法に関する。冶金粉末組成物懸濁物は、外側酸化物層を有する磁気粉末粒子およびキャリアー流体を含む。冶金粉末組成物懸濁物は磁気−流動学的特性を現し、これにより冶金粉末組成物の粘度は磁場に暴露することにより変化する。外側酸化物層を有する磁気粉末は、広い温度範囲にわたり低い酸化速度を現し、そしてこれにより特に高温を使用した適用で耐摩耗性である。

Claims (20)
- 冶金粉末組成物懸濁物であって:
前合金化(prealloyed)磁気粉末の総重量に基づき約0.01〜約0.4重量パーセントのコロンビウム、および
外側酸化物層
を含んでなる前合金化磁気粉末、ならびに
キャリアー流体
を含んでなり、上記前合金化磁気粉末が上記キャリヤー流体中に懸濁されている上記冶金粉末組成物懸濁物。 - 前合金化磁気粉末が鉄に基づく粉末である請求項1に記載の冶金粉末組成物懸濁物。
- 前合金化磁気粉末が、モリブデン、マンガン、マグネシウム、クロム、シリコン、銅、ニッケル、金、バナジウム、グラファイト、リン、アルミニウム、カルシウム、ボロン、チタンまたはそれらの組み合わせをさらに含んでなる請求項1に記載の冶金粉末組成物懸濁物。

- 外側酸化物層が、前合金化磁気粉末の総重量に基づき約0.015重量パーセントの炭素、約0.6重量パーセントの酸素、約0.5〜約0.75重量パーセントのマンガン、約0.08〜約0.15重量パーセントのコロンビウム、約0.10〜約0.20シリコン、約0.02重量パーセントのアルミニウムおよび約0.012重量パーセントのカルシウムを含んでなる請求項1に記載の冶金粉末組成物懸濁物。
- 前合金化磁気粉末の総重量に基づき、約1.0重量パーセント未満の酸素をさらに含んでなる請求項1に記載の冶金粉末組成物懸濁物。
- 前合金化磁気粉末の総重量に基づき、約0.6重量パーセント未満の酸素をさらに含んでなる請求項1に記載の冶金粉末組成物懸濁物。
- 前合金化磁気粉末が、摂氏180度で約0.25%/分/m2未満の酸化速度を有する請求項1に記載の冶金粉末組成物懸濁物。
- 前合金化磁気粉末が、摂氏230度で約0.40%/分/m2以下の酸化速度を有する請求項1に記載の冶金粉末組成物懸濁物。
- 外側酸化物層が、前合金化磁気粉末の噴霧中に形成される請求項1に記載の冶金粉末組成物懸濁物。
- 外側酸化物層が、約5〜約500オングストローム厚である請求項1に記載の冶金粉末組成物懸濁物。
- 外側酸化物層が、約5〜約100オングストローム厚である請求項1に記載の冶金粉末組成物懸濁物。
- 冶金粉末組成物懸濁物であって:
前合金化磁気粉末の総重量に基づき約0.01〜約1.0重量パーセントのチタン、および
外側酸化物層
を含んでなる前合金化磁気粉末、ならびに
キャリアー流体
を含んでなり、上記前合金化磁気粉末が上記キャリアー流体中に懸濁されている上記冶金粉末組成物懸濁物。 - 前合金化磁気粉末が、モリブデン、マンガン、マグネシウム、クロム、シリコン、銅、ニッケル、金、バナジウム、グラファイト、リン、アルミニウム、カルシウム、ボロンまたはそれらの組み合わせをさらに含んでなる請求項15に記載の冶金粉末組成物懸濁物。
- 前合金化磁気粉末が、前合金化磁気粉末の総重量に基づき約0.3〜約0.6重量パーセントチタンを含んでなる、請求項15に記載の冶金粉末組成物懸濁物。
- 前合金化磁気粉末の総重量に基づき約1.0重量パーセント未満の酸素をさらに含んでなる、請求項15に記載の冶金粉末組成物懸濁物。
- 外側酸化物層が約5〜約500オングストローム厚である請求項15に記載の冶金粉末組成物懸濁物。
- 磁気−流動学的デバイスであって:
チャンバー、
チャンバー内で往復するように配置されたピストン、
チャンバー内に配置された冶金粉末組成物懸濁物、冶金粉末組成物懸濁物は、
前合金化磁気粉末の総重量に基づき約0.01〜約0.4重量パーセントのコロンビウム、および
外側酸化物層
を含んでなる前合金化磁気粉末;ならびに
キャリアー流体
を含んでなり、ここで前合金化磁気粉末がキャリアー流体中に懸濁され、ならびに
ピストンに操作可能に連結された磁気源、ここで冶金粉末組成物懸濁物の見掛け粘度が磁気源により生成される磁場により調節される、
を含んでなる上記デバイス。
