Abstract

本出願は整形外科インプラント、特に、少なくとも一部が吸収性材料から作製されるインプラントの分野に関する。
本発明は、吸収性の整形外科インプラントを提供する。本発明のインプラントは、制限されないで、骨切り術(osteotemies)、脊髄相互本体融合、長い骨延長、および外傷再構築を含む適用に有用である。
本発明は、吸収性材料を含む整形外科インプラントを提供する。本発明のインプラントは、吸収性材料、そして、必要に応じて、組織への取り付けのための1つ以上のプレートを備える組織スペーサーを備える。この組織スペーサーは全体が吸収性であり得るか、またはいくつかの非吸収性成分を含み得る。この組織スペーサーの非吸収性成分は、制限されないで、この組織スペーサーの負荷支持部分、または繊維のような補強材料を含み得る。上記前面プレートは、吸収性または非吸収性であり得る。用語「生分解性」および「吸収性」は交換可能に用いられ、患者の身体の内側、または身体の外側で組織を成長するために細胞とともに用いられるときのいずれかで、経時的に分解し得ることを意味する。患者の身体の内側に配置されるとき、本発明のインプラントの吸収性部分は、経時的に分解し、そして身体の自然のプロセスによって除去される。

非多孔性の吸収性材料は、ポリ乳酸、β相リン酸三カルシウムおよび炭酸カルシウムを含み得る。例示の組成物は表3に要約される。非多孔性材料は、射出成形の前にポリマー樹脂をセラミック成分と乾燥ブレンドすることにより作製され得る。粒子サイズは、約10〜約70ミクロンの範囲であり得る。1つの実施形態では、粒子サイズは、約20〜約40ミクロンである。
