Abstract
Description
本出願は、同時係属中の米国仮出願第60/571,307号(2004年5月14日出願)と関連しており、この出願に基づく優先権主張を伴う。この関連出願の開示内容は、本出願と対立しない範囲で本明細書中に組み込まれている。
燃料特性がHCCIエンジンの性能と排気物質濃度に与える影響を検討するための試験を行った。全ての燃料についてセタン価、芳香族含有量、及び揮発性が検討され、ガソリン燃料についてオクタン価が検討された。本研究で用いたテスト・ディーゼル燃料の特性を表1に示す。ガソリンテスト燃料の特性を表2に示す。
燃料のテストは、エンジン速度1200rpm、1500rpm、1800rpm、エンジン負荷25%、50%、70%以上で行われた。
表4はセタン無添加燃料とセタン強化燃料の影響を示す。
表5は、燃料D2による動作時のHCCIエンジンにおいて可能な負荷の範囲を示す。
表6燃料G1、G2、及びG3による動作時のHCCIエンジンにおいて可能な負荷の範囲を示す。
HCCI燃焼システムはディーゼル燃料中の芳香族化合物含有量に対する感度が低い一方で、従来のディーゼル燃焼システムはこのパラメータに対する感度が高い。
Claims (18)
- 圧縮ストローク中に燃料が注入される直接噴射式予混合圧縮自己着火エンジン内で、ASTM D613に準拠したセタン価或いはASTM D6890に準拠した相当セタン価が20以上50以下であり、総芳香族化合物含有量が15重量%以上である燃料を燃焼させることにより、排気物質を制限しながら前記直接噴射式予混合圧縮自己着火エンジンを動作させる方法。
- 前記燃料の前記セタン価が20以上40以下であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記燃料の前記セタン価が20以上30以下であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記総芳香族化合物含有量が28重量%以上であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3いずれかに記載の方法。
- 総芳香族化合物含有量が28重量%以上50重量%以下であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4いずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記燃料の沸点が25℃以上380℃以下であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- ガソリン燃料のリサーチオクタン価とモータオクタン価の平均(R+M)/2が60以上91以下であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- ガソリン燃料のリサーチオクタン価とモータオクタン価の平均(R+M)/2が60以上81以下であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- ガソリン燃料のリサーチオクタン価とモータオクタン価の平均(R+M)/2が60以上70以下であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記制限される排気物質がNOXであることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
