Claims (8)
- 基材上にガラス形成化合物の堆積を行う、光ファイバ用プリフォームを製造する方法において、
前記堆積工程を調整された雰囲気に前記基材が存在する環境において実施し、前記調整された雰囲気は、調整されない雰囲気よりも低い含水量を有することを特徴とする光ファイバ用プリフォームを製造する方法。 - 請求項1に記載の光ファイバ用プリフォームを製造する方法において、
前記堆積をガラス基材チューブの内面において行い、その後前記ガラス基材チューブを塊状のプリフォームに押しつぶすことを特徴とする光ファイバ用プリフォームを製造する方法。 - 請求項2に記載の光ファイバ用プリフォームを製造する方法において、
前記押しつぶし工程を前記雰囲気が調整された環境において実施し、前記調整された雰囲気は、前記調整されていない雰囲気よりも低い含水量を有することを特徴とする光ファイバ用プリフォームを製造する方法。 - 請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の光ファイバ用プリフォームを製造する方法において、
前記堆積工程は、PCVD堆積工程であることを特徴とする光ファイバ用プリフォームを製造する方法。 - 請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の光ファイバ用プリフォームを製造する方法において、
前記堆積工程は、MCVD堆積工程であることを特徴とする光ファイバ用プリフォームを製造する方法。 - 請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の光ファイバ用プリフォームを製造する方法において、
前記調整された雰囲気の含水量は、5g/kgよりも小さいことを特徴とする光ファイバ用プリフォームを製造する方法。 - 請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の光ファイバ用プリフォームを製造する方法において、
前記調整された雰囲気の含水量は、2g/kgよりも小さいことを特徴とする光ファイバ用プリフォームを製造する方法。 - 光ファイバを製造する方法において、
請求項1〜7のいずれかで定義される方法を実施することによって得られる塊状のプリフォームを用いて、前記塊状のプリフォームの一端を熱し、続いて光ファイバを前記塊状のプリフォームから線引きすることを特徴とする光ファイバを製造する方法。
