Abstract
【解決手段】金属ウラニウムの電解精錬装置10は、三塩化ウラニウムを含有する溶融塩16中において、プルトニウム及びマイナーアクチニドが含有された金属ウラニウム片を装荷した陽極バスケット16を具備し、その陽極バスケット16の内部に内装された陽極電極15及び炭素材による陰極電極15に所定の電流を印加し、印加された電流により開始された反応に従って前記陰極電極15に金属ウラニウムを電着させ、電着された金属ウラニウムをそれ自体の重量により分離回収するものである。

以下、印加する電流密度の変化による陰極の表面に電着された金属ウラニウムの量を測定した実験例。

Claims (7)
- 三塩化ウラニウムを含有する溶融塩中において、プルトニウム及びマイナーアクチニド(minor actinide)が含有された金属ウラニウム片を装荷した陽極バスケットを具備し、前記陽極バスケットに内装された陽極電極及び炭素材による陰極電極に所定の電流を印加する段階と、
前記印加された電流により開始された反応に従って前記陰極電極に金属ウラニウムが電着する段階と、
前記電着された金属ウラニウムをそれ自体の重量により分離回収する段階とを包含する金属ウラニウムの電解精錬による金属ウラニウム生産方法。 - 前記陰極電極に使用される炭素材は、黒鉛、ガラス質炭素、ガラス質黒鉛から選択されるいずれか1つの物質であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の金属ウラニウムの電解精錬による金属ウラニウム生産方法。
- 前記陽極電極及び陰極電極に印加される電流を140mA/cm2以上の密度で供給することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の金属ウラニウムの電解精錬による金属ウラニウム生産方法。
- プルトニウム及びマイナーアクチニドが含有された金属ウラニウム片を装荷するとともに、陽極電極を内装した陽極バスケットと、炭素材の陰極電極及び金属ウラニウム回収部を内部に備える反応器とを包含してなる金属ウラニウムの電解精錬装置。
- 前記陰極電極に使用される炭素材は、黒鉛、ガラス質炭素、ガラス質黒鉛から選択されるいずれか1つの物質であることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の金属ウラニウムの電解精錬装置。
- 前記炭素材の陰極電極は、前記陽極バスケットの周囲に複数個配置されることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の金属ウラニウムの電解精錬装置。
- 前記炭素材の陰極電極は、前記陽極バスケットの周囲に複数個が同心円状に配置されることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の金属ウラニウムの電解精錬装置。
