Abstract
【解決手段】 補償パネル12Aは、二枚の高分子フィルム17Aa,17Abを貼り合せた構造を有し、高分子フィルム17Aa,17Abが複屈折性を有する。高分子フィルム17Aa,17Abの複屈折方向18Aa,18Abは、液晶配向方向14Aと平行又は直交する。同様に、補償パネル12Bは、二枚の高分子フィルム17Ba,17Bbを貼り合せた構造を有し、高分子フィルム17Ba,17Bbが複屈折性を有する。高分子フィルム17Ba,17Bbの複屈折方向18Ba,18Bbは、液晶配向方向14Bと平行又は直交する。ガラス基板ではなく、高分子フィルム17Aa,17Abによって補償パネル12Aを構成したことにより、表示装置10の薄型化及び軽量化が図れる。

Claims (8)
- 表示パネルと少なくとも二枚の補償パネルとから成る積層構造が、二枚の偏光板の間に設けられ、
前記表示パネルは、液晶に印加する電圧によって、前記二枚の偏光板を透過する光の透過率を変化させて画像を形成する機能を有し、
前記二枚の補償パネルは、液晶に印加する電圧によって、前記表示パネルで形成される画像の視野角を変える機能を有するとともに、前記電圧の印加時又は無印加時における前記液晶の配向方向が互いに直交し、
前記二枚の補償パネルの少なくとも一方は、二枚の高分子フィルムを前記液晶を介して貼り合せた構造を有し、
前記高分子フィルムは、当該補償パネルの前記液晶の配向方向と一致又は直交する複屈折方向を有する、
ことを特徴とする視野角制御表示装置。 - 前記表示パネルと前記二枚の補償パネルとの間に、別の偏光板が挿入された、
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の視野角制御表示装置。 - 前記二枚の補償パネルの少なくとも一方は、独立に前記電圧を印加できる複数の補償セグメントを有する、
ことを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載の視野角制御表示装置。 - 前記二枚の補償パネルは、前記表示パネルで形成される画像の視野角を変える際に、時系列的に互いに異なる動作をする機能を有する、
ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれかに記載の視野角制御表示装置。 - 前記複数の補償セグメントは、前記表示パネルで形成される画像の視野角を変える際に、時系列的に互いに異なる動作をする機能を有する、
ことを特徴とする請求項3記載の視野角制御表示装置。 - 前記二枚の補償パネルの少なくとも一方の前記液晶は、前記電圧の無印加時に平行配向する、
ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至5のいずれかに記載の視野角制御表示装置。 - 前記二枚の補償パネルの少なくとも一方の前記液晶は、前記電圧の無印加時に垂直配向する、
ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至5のいずれかに記載の視野角制御表示装置。 - 請求項1乃至7のいずれか1項に記載の視野角制御表示装置を、
備えたことを特徴とする端末機。
