Abstract
【解決手段】平板状の多角形の導光板GLBと複数の異なる発光色のLEDチップD1、D2、D3を組み合わせて混色ユニットDUTを形成する。この混色ユニットDUTを反射機能を持つプリント基板RFBに複数配置して面状照明装置とする。これをバックライトとして液晶表示パネルの背面に組み込んで液晶表示装置を構成する。

Claims (16)
- 平面形状が正多角形で透明な導光板と、該導光板の角部に設置されて光の三原色の何れかの色光を前記導光板の内部に向けて入射するLEDチップとからなる混色ユニットと、
前記混色ユニットを複数個搭載して二次元の拡がりを持つ面状の光源を構成する反射板とを有し、
前記導光板の上面から前記混色ユニットで生成された混色光を放射することを特徴とする面状照明装置。 - 請求項1において、
前記導光板の少なくとも隣接する角部に設置されてLEDチップは光の三原色の異なる色光を出射することを特徴とする面状照明装置。 - 請求項1又は2において、
前記導光板の下面には、前記LEDチップから入射した光を前記上面に反射させるための反射処理が施されていることを特徴とする面状照明装置。 - 請求項1又は2において、
前記導光板の前記LEDチップを設置する角部を除く側面に、前記LEDチップから入射した光を当該導光板の内部に戻すための反射シートを有することを特徴とする面状照明装置。 - 請求項1又は2において、
前記反射板は、前記混色ユニットのLEDチップに給電する配線を備えるプリント基板を兼ねることを特徴とする面状照明装置。 - 請求項1又は2において、
前記導光板の上面を覆って、前記混色ユニットで生成された白色光を拡散させる拡散シートを備えたことを特徴とする面状照明装置。 - 請求項1又は2において、
前記導光板の平面形状は正三角形であることを特徴とする面状照明装置。 - 請求項7において、
前記導光板の角部のそれぞれに、赤色発光LEDチップ、緑色発光LEDチップ、青色発光LEDチップが設置されていることを特徴とする面状照明装置。 - 請求項1又は2において、
前記導光板の平面形状は正四角形であることを特徴とする面状照明装置。 - 請求項9において、
前記導光板の角部のそれぞれに、赤色発光LEDチップ、緑色発光LEDチップ、青色発光LEDチップおよびこれらのLEDチップの一つが追加されて設置されていることを特徴とする面状照明装置。 - 請求項10において、
前記導光板の一つの対角線上に位置する両角部に、前記3色のLEDチップの一つが設置されていることを特徴とする面状照明装置。 - 液晶表示パネルと、この液晶表示パネルの背面に設置された面状照明装置とを有する液晶表示装置であって、
前記面状照明装置は、平面形状が正多角形で透明な導光板と、該導光板の各角部に設置されたLEDチップとを有し、少なくとも隣接する前記角部に設置された前記LEDチップは光の三原色の異なる色光を当該導光板の内部に向けて入射する如く構成された混色ユニットと、前記混色ユニットを複数個搭載して二次元の拡がりを持つ面状の光源を構成する反射板とを有し、
前記導光板の上面から前記液晶表示パネルに向けて前記混色ユニットで生成された混色光を放射することを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項12において、
前記面状照明装置を構成する前記導光板の下面には、前記LEDチップから入射した光を前記上面に反射させるための反射処理が施されていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項12又は13において、
前記面状照明装置を構成する前記導光板の前記LEDチップを設置する角部を除く側面に、前記LEDチップから入射した光を当該導光板の内部に戻すための反射シートを有することを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項12乃至14において、
前記面状照明装置を構成する前記反射板は、前記混色ユニットのLEDチップに給電する配線を備えるプリント基板を兼ねることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項12乃至15において、
前記面状照明装置を構成する前記導光板の上面を覆って、前記混色ユニットで生成された白色光を拡散させる拡散シートを備えたことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
