Abstract
【解決手段】 本発明は、エンジン1の排気ガスの一部をEGR通路14cを通じてEGRガスとして吸入空気中に還流するEGR装置において、還流するEGRガスを冷却するEGRクーラー7を前記EGR通路に設け、このEGRクーラーは、EGRガスを冷却するクーラー部7bと、このクーラー部のEGRガス流れ方向で上流に設置される触媒部7aと、この触媒部に燃料を添加する燃料添加手段8とを備え、触媒部に添加して燃料を燃焼させることによりEGRガス中の酸素濃度を低下するようにした。

Claims (5)
- エンジンの排気ガスの一部をEGR通路を通じてEGRガスとして吸入空気中に還流するEGR装置において、
還流するEGRガスを冷却するEGRクーラーを前記EGR通路に設け、
このEGRクーラーは、EGRガスを冷却するクーラー部と、このクーラー部のEGRガス流れ方向で上流に設置される触媒部と、この触媒部に燃料を添加する燃料添加手段とを備え、
触媒部に添加して燃料を燃焼させることによりEGRガス中の酸素濃度を低下するようにしたことを特徴とするEGR装置。 - 前記燃料添加手段を制御するコントローラと、
エンジンの運転状態を検出する運転状態検出センサと、
吸入空気の流量を検出する流量センサと、
吸入空気とEGRガスが混合した吸気の圧力を検出する圧力センサとを備え、
前記コントローラは、検出したエンジンの運転状態に基づいて添加する燃料添加量を算出し、検出した吸入空気流量と吸気圧力とに基づいて、燃料添加実施領域かどうか判定し、燃料添加実施領域である場合に、算出された燃料添加量の燃料を前記触媒部に添加することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のEGR装置。 - 前記EGRクーラーに流入するEGRガスの温度を検出する温度センサを備え、
前記触媒部への燃料の添加は、検出したEGRガス温度が前記触媒部の活性温度以上のときに実施されることを特徴とする請求項2に記載のEGR装置。 - 前記エンジンに可変ノズル式ターボチャージャーを備え、
前記EGR通路にEGRガスの流量を制御するEGR弁を備え、
前記コントローラは、検出されたエンジンの運転状態に応じて目標空気過剰率及び目標酸素濃度を算出し、算出した目標空気過剰率及び目標酸素濃度を達成するように前記可変ノズル式ターボチャージャーと前記EGR弁の開度を制御し、
前記目標空気過剰率及び目標酸素濃度が前記開度制御により達成可能な空気過剰率及び酸素濃度を越えた場合に燃料添加実施と判定することを特徴とする請求項2に記載のEGR装置。 - 前記燃料の添加量は、前記エンジンの運転状態に基づいて設定されることを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれか一つに記載のEGR装置。
