Abstract
Description

試験手順
例において用いられる試験手順は以下を含む。
シーラント組成物のフィルムは、40ミルから60ミルの厚さを有するフィルムに100℃でプレスされる。シーラントのフィルムの3in×0.25in区分は、ガラスの3in×1in片上でプレスされる。2in×1.5inスペーサーは、シーラントフィルムの頂部上でプレスされる。40ミルから60ミルの厚さを有するシーラントのフィルムの第2の3in×0.25inの区分は、ガラスの3in×3in片上にプレスされ、フィルム側は、ついで、手で圧力をかけてスペーサーに当接してプレスされる。ついで、試料は、120℃に予備加熱されたオーブンの中に配置される。試験試料を含むジグは、120℃にオーブン温度を維持しながら10分間オーブンの中に保持される。ついでジグは、オーブンから取り出され、冷却される。ついで、試験試料は、ジグから取り出され、夜間冷却される。
1週間室温:ガラス結合接着試験により調製される試験試料は、試験の前1週間室温と約50%相対湿度に貯蔵される。
重ね剪断強度は、試験試料が以下のように調製されることを除いて、「加熱されたシーラントの重ね剪断強度のための標準試験方法」という表題のASTM C−961−01により測定される。50ミルから60ミルの厚さを有するシーラント組成物の1in×1inフィルムがアルミニウムの4in×1in片上に配置される。ついで、ガラスの1in×3in片は、フィルムの頂部上に配置され、最大限の手による圧力でフィルムに当接して強くプレスされる。
針の貫通は、ASTM D5により測定される。50グラムの針および50ポンドの錘が用いられる。試料は、針が試料に完全に貫通するとき、針が試料に触れて下にある基板には触れないのに十分な深さのものである。試験は、25℃でなされる。
例1のシーラント組成物は、真空ポンプを備えた120℃に予備加熱されたシグマブレードミキサーに以下の成分を低速混合で順次装填することにより調製された。120gBUTYL065ブチルゴム(エクソンモービル・ケミカルCo.、テキサス州ヒューストン)、120gVISTANEX LM(エクソンモービル)、89.4gEASTOFLEX E1003アモルファスエチレン/プロピレンコポリマー(イーストマン・ケミカルCo.、テネシー州キングズポート)、198.8gESCOREZ1310LC樹脂(エクソンモービル・ケミカルCo.テキサス州ヒューストン)および1.8gMONARCH120黒色顔料(ペンシルバニア州ピッツバーグ、カボット)。ミキサーは、プロセス全体にわたって120℃に維持された。真空化が開始され、組成物は低速で30分間混合された。ついで、250gのVESTOPLAST206Vシラン化アモルファスポリ−α−オレフィン(ドイツ、デグッサ−ヒュールズ)が30分間の真空の下で低速での混合により混合物に装填され、ついで、15分間真空下で低速で混合することにより0.16gジブチル錫ジラウレートが添加された。

Claims (18)
- 絶縁ガラスアセンブリを作るための方法であって、
スペーサーの第1の表面とスペーサーの第2の表面上にシーラント組成物を塗布すること、
前記スペーサーの第1の表面上のシーラント組成物を第1のガラス板と接触させること、
前記スペーサーの第2の表面上のシーラント組成物を第2のガラス板と接触させること、
前記シーラントを介して前記第1のガラス板を前記スペーサーに結合させるために約15℃から約60℃までの周囲温度で該アセンブリ上に圧力を掛けること、および
前記シーラントを介して前記第2のガラス板を前記スペーサーに結合させるために約15℃から約60℃の周囲温度でアセンブリ上に圧力を掛けること
を含む方法。 - 前記絶縁ガラスアセンブリが、ASTM E774/773クラスC性能要求、ASTM E774/773クラスCB性能要求およびASTM E774/773クラスCBA性能要求の少なくとも1つに合格する請求項1記載の方法。
- ASTM E1887−97に従って試験したとき前記絶縁ガラスアセンブリは可視フォグが存在しない請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記第1のガラス板と前記スペーサーとの間の第1の結合ラインに掛けられる圧力が約2psiから約100psiまでであり、前記第2のガラス板と前記スペーサーとの間の第2の結合ラインに掛けられる圧力が約2psiから約100psiまでである請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記シーラント組成物が、前記スペーサーの第1の表面と第2の表面に同時に塗布される請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記第1のガラス板と前記第2のガラス板に同時に圧力を掛けることをさらに含む請求項3記載の方法。
- 前記シーラント組成物を付与することが、90℃を超える温度で前記シーラント組成物を分配することを含む請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記圧力が、段プレス、ローラープレスまたはそれらの組み合わせからなる群より選択されるプレスにより付与される請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記アセンブリが垂直位置にある間に前記圧力が掛けらる請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記シーラント組成物が、
シラン官能性アモルファスポリ−α−オレフィン、
ブチルゴム、
ポリイソブチレン、および
粘着付与剤
を含む請求項1記載の方法。 - 前記スペーサーが、金属、ポリマーまたはそれらの組み合わせを含む請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記スペーサーが、サッシフレームから延び、サッシフレームと一体である請求項1記載の方法。
- 第2のシーラント組成物をフレームに塗布すること、
前記第2のシーラント組成物を請求項1で製造される絶縁ガラスアセンブリと接触させること、および
前記第2のシーラント組成物を介して前記アセンブリに前記フレームを結合させるために前記フレームと前記アセンブリに圧力を掛けること
をさらに含む請求項1記載の方法。 - シラン官能性アモルファスポリ−α−オレフィン、
ブチルゴム、
ポリイソブチレン、および
粘着付与剤
を含み、
約3.5mmから8.0mm未満までの針の貫通を示す
水分硬化性シーラント組成物。 - アモルファスポリ−α−オレフィンをさらに含む請求項14記載のシーラント組成物。
- 前記シーラント組成物が、1g/m2 /日以下の水蒸気伝達速度を示す請求項14記載のシーラント組成物。
- 第1のガラス板、
第2のガラス板、
スペーサー、および
前記第1のガラス板および前記スペーサーと前記第2のガラス板および前記スペーサーとの間に配置される請求項14記載の硬化されたシーラント組成物
を備える絶縁ガラスアセンブリ。 - 第1のガラス板、
第2のガラス板、
スペーサー、および
第1のシーラント組成物、
を含む絶縁ガラスユニットであって、前記第1のガラス板は前記シーラント組成物を介して前記スペーサーの第1の表面に結合し、前記第2のガラス板は前記第1のシーラント組成物を介してスペーサーの第2の表面に結合される絶縁ガラスユニット、
フレーム、および
第2のシーラント組成物であって、前記絶縁ガラスユニットが前記第2のシーラント組成物を介して前記フレームに結合し、該第2のシーラント組成物が請求項14記載の硬化されたシーラント組成物を含む第2のシーラント組成物
を備える絶縁ガラスアセンブリ。
