Claims (7)

  1. 第1の診断機器または治療機器を支持されていない解剖構造の中空身体器官に前進させるための装置であって、以下:
    ハンドル;および
    該ハンドルに取り付けられたオーバーチューブであって:
    近位端および遠位端、
    外部表面、
    該近位端と該遠位端との間に延びる、該第1の診断機器または治療機器の通過を可能にする管腔を規定する内部表面を有するオーバーチューブを備え、ここで、該オーバーチューブ、中空身体器官への該オーバーチューブの挿入を容易にする可撓性状態、および該オーバーチューブが該管腔を通じた該第1の診断機器または治療機器の挿入または引き抜きの間に該内部表面に対して加えられる屈曲力に抵抗する剛性状態を有するオーバーチューブ;および
    該内部表面と該第1の診断機器または治療機器との間に障壁を提供するよう該管腔を通して延びる第1部分、および該外部表面上を延びる第2部分を有する使い捨て可能なシース、を備える、装置。
  2. 前記使い捨て可能なシース疎水性材料を含む、請求項に記載の装置。
  3. 前記使い捨て可能なシース非ねじれコイルを備える、請求項に記載の装置。
  4. 前記第1部分、薄い可撓性の材料を含む、請求項に記載の装置。
  5. 前記オーバーチューブ、各々が側壁を有する、複数の入れ子式リンクを備える、請求項1から4のいずれかに記載の装置。
  6. 請求項に記載の装置であって、さらに:
    前記複数の入れ子式リンクの各々の側壁を通って延びる、複数の張力ワイヤ孔;および
    該複数の張力ワイヤ孔の1つ以上を通して移動可能に配置された少なくとも1つの張力ワイヤ、を備える、装置。
  7. 前記可撓性状態と前記剛性状態との間でオーバーチューブを移行させるよう選択的に操作可能な張力メカニズムをさらに備える、請求項に記載の装置。
