Abstract
Description
血液及び血液成分のような生体液を光で処理する装置、方法並びにシステムは、周知である。例えば、引用により本明細書に組み込まれる米国特許第4、952、812号は、血小板濃縮液中の不要な白血球を紫外線照射により処理し、患者の免疫反応を誘発する白血球の機能を制限する装置を開示している。血小板濃縮液の容器を処理するために、該容器は、スライド可能な引出しの上に配置され、該スライド可能な引き出しが、容器の両側から照射するための対向するランプのアレイ間にあるハウジング内に導入される。照射中、引出し(又は引出しの一部)が揺動枢動し、血小板濃縮液を攪拌することができる。
例示を目的として、本発明の種々の態様を主にそれらの好ましい実施形態に関連して説明する。しかしながら、本発明の様々な態様を実施した装置、システム及び方法は本明細書に説明する特定の詳細に限定されないことを理解されたい。
図1に示すように、光ボックス10は、天板14、底面パネル16、前面パネル及び背面パネル17、並びに側板18によって形成されるハウジング12を含む。ハウジング12は、底面パネル16に取り付けられた脚13によって支持される(図4)。好ましい実施形態では、脚13は、ゴム又は他のエラストマー系のマウントである。側板18は、光ボックス10を把握して運ぶための取っ手22を含むことができる。側板18に開けることが可能な又は除去可能な扉24があることにより、光ボックス10の内部、より具体的には、以下により詳細に説明する光ボックス10の電子部品にアクセスすることが可能となる。扉24は、締め具25を回すことによって開けるか又は除去することができる。
光ボックス10と共に有益な使い捨て処理セットを、全体として図15〜図17及び図35に示す。一般に、本使い捨て処理セットは、プラスチックチューブによって一体的に接続された2つ又はそれ以上のプラスチック容器を含むことになる。容器のうちの少なくとも1つは、光処理中に生体液を保持するのに適していなければならない。他の容器は、処理後の生体液の保存に適していなければならない。以下により詳細に説明するように、使い捨て処理セットは、生体液の容器と結合することができ、流体を使い捨て処理セットの容器に移すことができる。
ここで、使い捨て処理セット200(又は240)を用いて流体を処理し、且つ例えば光ボックス10内で光によって生体液を処理する方法を説明することにする。以下の説明は、後続の生体液中の病原体の不活性化に対して生体液を処理する状況においてなされるが、以下に説明するステップの多くは病原体不活性化を含まない他の流体処理法及び流体処理法においても実行することができることを理解されたい。以下の説明を、図15の使い捨て処理セットを一例として挙げて行うが、本説明は図16及び図35のセットのような他の処理セットにも応用することができることが理解されるであろう。
Claims (41)
- 一まとめにされた流体処理セットであって、
可撓性プラスチックチューブによって一体的に接続された少なくとも2つの可撓性容器を含む流体処理セットと、
該容器のうちの少なくとも1つが上に折りかぶせられる少なくとも1つの実質的に丸みを帯びた表面を有する支持体と、
を備える一まとめにされた流体処理セット。 - 前記支持体は、可撓性の材料で作られた折りたたまれたシートを備える、請求項1に記載の一まとめにされた流体処理セット。
- 前記シートは、少なくとも一対の互いに当接する直立したノブを備える、請求項2に記載の一まとめにされた流体処理セット。
- 前記シートの1つの端部に少なくとも1つのくぎを更に備えており、該シートの反対側の端部の対応するスロットに挿入される、請求項2に記載の一まとめにされた流体処理セット。
- 前記シートは、少なくとも一対の互いにロックし合うタブ及びスロットを備える、請求項2に記載の一まとめにされた流体処理セット。
- 前記支持体は、該支持体の上に折りかぶせられた容器のスリットを受け入れるためのタブを備える、請求項1に記載の一まとめにされた流体処理セット。
- 前記容器を前記支持体に当てて保持するためのバンドを更に備える、請求項1に記載の一まとめにされた流体処理セット。
- 使い捨て流体処理セットであって、
少なくとも1つの容器を備える第1の部分;
少なくとも1つの容器を備える第2の部分;
ここで、該第1と第2の部分は、プラスチックチューブによって一体的に接続されている;
該第2の部分を受け入れるための整理収納装置であって、該整理収納装置は、可撓性の材料で作られた折りたたまれたシートを備え、対向するシート部分が互いに固定されている、整理収納装置
を備える、使い捨て流体処理セット。 - 前記第2の部分の前記容器は、前記シートの上に折りかぶせられる、請求項8に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 前記シートは、前記第2の部分の前記容器の縁部を保持するための切欠を備える、請求項8に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 前記対向するシート部分は、互いにロックし合うタブ及びスロットによって共に固定される、請求項8に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 前記シートは、実質的に不透明な材料で製造されている、請求項8に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 前記第2の部分の前記容器は、実質的に前記折りたたまれたシートの中にある、請求項8に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 前記シートは、前記使い捨て処理セットのチューブを受け入れるための1つそれ以上の開口部を備える、請求項8に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 前記シートは、前記第2の部分の前記容器を受け入れるための切欠を含む中央部を備える、請求項8に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 前記中央部がミシン目を有する、請求項15に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 前記整理収納装置は、照射装置の容器保持区画への取り付け用のタブを含む、請求項8に記載の使い捨て処理セット。
- 使い捨て流体処理セットであって、
注液口及び排液口を含み、且つ該容器内に処理剤を含む、第1の容器;
一方の端部が前記注液口と連通して開通可能な流路を形成するチューブ;
第2の容器;
一方の端部が前記第1の容器の排液口と連通し且つ他方の端部が前記第2の容器と連通して該第1と第2の容器の間に開通可能な流路を形成するチューブ、
を備える、使い捨て流体処理セット。 - 前記容器は、前記処理剤を保持するのに適した材料で製造されている、請求項18に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 前記第1の容器は、該容器の上に光不透過性の上包を備える、請求項18に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 前記容器は、前記材料で作られた2枚の共に封止されたシートで製造されている、請求項20に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 前記上包は、前記共に封止されたシートに封止されている、請求項21に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 前記上包は、光不透過性の材料で作られた2枚のシートを備え、該光不透過性の材料で作られた1枚のシートは、前記共に封止されたシートのうちの1枚に封止され、且つ該光不透過性シートのうちの前記他方は、前記共に封止されたシートのうちの前記他方に封止されている、請求項22に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 前記材料は、エチレン、プロピレン、ポリアミド及びポリスチレンの末端ブロックを有するエチレンとブチレンのブロック共重合体のブレンドを含む、請求項19に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 前記光不透過性上包は、少なくとも着色されたポリプロピレンで製造されている、請求項20に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 少なくとも前記容器の上に第2の光不透過性上包を更に備える、請求項20に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 前記第2の光不透過性上包は、前記第1の容器を封入するスリーブを備える、請求項26に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 前記スリーブは、前記注液口及び排液口の少なくとも一部分を覆う、請求項27に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 前記第1の容器と連通する前記チューブ内に1つの障壁を備え、且つ前記第1と第2の容器の間に前記流路を形成する前記チューブ内に1つの障壁を備える、請求項18に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 前記障壁は、屈折可能な部材を備える、請求項29に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 第3の容器;
前記第3の容器内の吸収材料;
前記第2と第3の容器の間に開通可能な流路を形成するチューブ;
前記チューブ内の障壁
を備える、請求項29に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。 - 前記障壁は、屈折可能な部材を備える、請求項31に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 第4の容器;
前記第3と第4の容器の間に開通可能な流路を形成するチューブ
を備える、請求項31に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。 - 前記第3と第4の容器の間に前記開通可能な流路を形成する前記チューブは、粒子捕捉装置と流れ連通する、請求33に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 前記粒子捕捉装置は、フィルタを備える、請求項34に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 前記フィルタは、メッシュ材料を備える、請求項35に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 前記捕捉装置は、前記第3と第4の容器の間に前記開通可能な流路を形成する前記チューブと流れ連通する袋を備える、請求項34に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 前記袋は、該袋の一方の側に入り口を、該袋の反対側に出口を含む、請求項37に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 前記捕捉装置は、前記袋の壁の間に封止されたメッシュ材料で作られたシートを備える、請求項38に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 前記壁のうちの少なくとも1つの内側表面は、1つ又はそれ以上の内方に延びるリブを備える、請求項39に記載の使い捨て流体処理セット。
- 生体液を処理するための使い捨て流体処理セットであって、
処理中に生体液を収容しておくための容器を備える第1の部分と、
処理後に前記生体液を受け入れるための容器を備える第2の部分と、
前記容器を接続して該容器間に開通可能な流路を形成するチューブと、
処理ステップ中前記第2の部分を前記第1の部分から分離して一時的に保持するためのホルダと、
を備える使い捨て流体処理セット。
