Abstract
【解決手段】 機関排気通路上に配置された排気ガス中の粒子状物質を捕集する捕集装置6と、オゾンを生成するオゾン生成装置21と、オゾンを吸着可能なオゾン吸着材22とを具備する排気ガス浄化装置において、オゾン生成装置によって生成されたオゾンの少なくとも一部はオゾン吸着材に吸着され、捕集装置に捕集された粒子状物質を除去すべきときにはオゾン吸着材に吸着されているオゾンをオゾン吸着材から脱離させて捕集装置に供給するようにした。

Description
第1の発明によれば、捕集装置に捕集された粒子状物質を除去すべきときにはオゾン吸着材に吸着されているオゾンが捕集装置に供給される。このため、オゾン生成装置のオゾン生成能力以上のオゾンを捕集装置に供給することができる。
なお、捕集装置に捕集された粒子状物質を除去すべきときとは、例えば、オゾン生成装置によって生成されたオゾンとオゾン吸着材から離脱せしめられたオゾンとを共に捕集装置に供給すると供給されたオゾンのほぼ全てが捕集されている粒子状物質と反応して捕集装置からほとんどオゾンが流出しない程度に捕集装置に粒子状物質が捕集されているとき、又は捕集装置に粒子状物質が捕集されたことによって捕集装置に起因する圧力損失が所定値以上に大きくなっているとき等を意味する。
第3の発明によれば、オゾン生成装置によって生成されたオゾンをオゾン吸着材に吸着させるか、オゾン吸着材に吸着させることなく直接捕集装置に流入させるかを選択することができる。なお、流量調整弁には、メイン通路とバイパス通路との間で切り換える切換弁も含まれる。
第4の発明によれば、粒子状物質を除去すべきときに、オゾン吸着材に吸着されているオゾンを捕集装置に供給するのに加えてオゾン生成装置によって生成されたオゾンを直接捕集装置に流入させることができる。
第5の発明では、粒子状物質を除去すべきときであってもオゾンが捕集装置に到達するまでに分解してしまう可能性がある場合にはオゾン生成装置によって生成されたオゾンを捕集装置に供給しないようにしており、これにより生成されたオゾンを効率よく粒子状物質の除去に利用することができる。
第6の発明では、オゾン吸着材からオゾンを脱離させるのに排気ガスによってオゾン吸着材を昇温される。これにより、オゾン吸着材を昇温するためのヒータ等を設ける必要が無くなり、製造コストを低減することができる。

Claims (6)
- 機関排気通路上に配置された排気ガス中の粒子状物質を捕集する捕集装置と、オゾンを生成するオゾン生成装置と、オゾンを吸着可能なオゾン吸着材とを具備し、
上記オゾン生成装置によって生成されたオゾンの少なくとも一部は上記オゾン吸着材に吸着され、
上記捕集装置に捕集された粒子状物質を除去すべきときにはオゾン吸着材に吸着されているオゾンを該オゾン吸着材から脱離させて捕集装置に供給するようにした、排気ガス浄化装置。 - 上記オゾン吸着材はゼオライトによって形成される、請求項1に記載の排気ガス浄化装置。
- 上記オゾン生成装置からオゾン吸着材を介して捕集装置へと通じるメイン通路と、該メイン通路から分岐すると共に上記オゾン吸着材をバイパスするバイパス通路と、上記バイパス通路が分岐する分岐部に設けられると共にオゾン生成装置によって生成されたオゾンが上記バイパス通路へ流入する流量を調整するオゾン流量調整弁とをさらに具備する、請求項1又は2に記載の排気ガス浄化装置。
- 上記捕集装置に捕集された粒子状物質を除去すべきときには、上記オゾン生成装置によって生成されたオゾンが上記バイパス通路を通って流れるようにオゾン流量調整弁が制御される、請求項3に記載の排気ガス浄化装置。
- 上記捕集装置に捕集された粒子状物質を除去すべきときであっても排気温度が分解開始温度よりも高い場合には、上記オゾン生成装置によって生成されたオゾンが上記メイン通路を通って流れるようにオゾン流量調整弁が制御される、請求項3又は4に記載の排気ガス浄化装置。
- 機関排気通路から分岐すると共に上記オゾン吸着材に連結される分岐通路と、該分岐通路に流入する排気ガスの流量を調整する排気流量調整弁とをさらに具備し、
上記オゾン吸着材からオゾンを脱離させるときには内燃機関から排出された排気ガスの少なくとも一部が上記分岐通路を介してオゾン吸着材に流入するように上記排気流量調整弁が制御される、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の排気ガス浄化装置。
