Abstract
Description
用いる重合性単量体が、親水性単量体あるいは疎水性単量体に該当するか否かを判定するために以下の判定方法を用いて分類を行なった。
ベンジルクロリドとN,N−ジエチルジチオカーバマートNa塩から合成したベンジル−N,N−ジエチルチオカーバマート(BDC)を減圧蒸留した。得られた精製BDC0.19g(0.78mmol)、MMA69g(0.69mol)およびベンゼン100mlをガラス重合管に入れ、凍結−脱気を繰り返した後、真空下封管した。30℃で紫外線照射(光源として東芝SHL100を用いて10cmの距離から照射)を15時間行なった。開管して、内容物を大量のメタノールに沈殿させ、真空乾燥を行なった。得られたMMA重合体の末端N,N−ジチオカーバマート数はBDCのUV(シクロヘキサン中、λmax:282nm,ε10500)を標準として重合体のUVおよび粘度から算出した数平均分子量(Mn)から決定された。重合率30%、Mn=6.4×104、末端SC(S)NEt2数=0.99であった。
ガラス製重合管にMPC30g(0.10mol)、チオグリコール酸1.8g(20mmol)、AIBN0.16g(1.0mmol)を入れ、凍結脱気を繰り返した後、真空下で溶封した。60℃で5時間加温した後、冷却、開管してヘキサン−ジエチルエーテル(3:2)混合液に投入して沈殿させた。収率50%。Mn=4.0×103(THF中、フェノールフタレイン/エタノール指示薬を用いて0.1NKOH水溶液にて末端カルボン酸を滴定)。
共重合体0.50gを5.0mlのTHF−塩化メチレン(1:1)混合溶媒に溶解し、コーティング液とした。該コーティング液を予め重量を測定した20×20×1mmのPMMA板に塗布後、室温にて乾燥させた。その後、減圧乾燥を行なった後でサンプルの重量を測定し、PMMA板のみの重量と差し引くことによってコーティング層の重量を求めた。次に、サンプルを蒸留水に10日間浸漬してサンプルの重量を測定し、コーティング層の初期吸水率(%){=100×(吸水後の重量−吸水前の重量)/コーティング層の重量)}を求めた。
製造例1で合成したブロック共重合体をコーティング基材として使用した。該ブロック共重合体は、水に対して膨順はするものの、溶解はしなかった。また、該ブロック共重合体1.0gを100gの水に分散し、15h攪拌を行なった後、未溶解分を濾別回収、恒量となるまで減圧乾燥を行なった結果、その乾燥重量は0.98gとなり、本ブロック共重合体が本質的に水に不溶であることが確認された。上記ブロック共重合体0.50gに対し、5.0mlのTHF−塩化メチレン(1:1)に溶解してコーティング溶液とした。コーティングサンプルの試験結果を表1に示した。コーティング層の初期吸水率は67%であり、良好な保湿性を示した。また、義歯洗浄剤浸漬試験後の残留コーティング層の割合は92%であった。また、該サンプルを再度吸湿させた結果、吸水率は65%であり、保湿性が保持されていることがわかった。
製造例2で合成したグラフト共重合体をコーティング基材として用いたこと以外は実施例1と同様な評価を行った。該グラフト共重合体は、水に対して膨潤はするものの溶解はしなかった。また、該ブロック共重合体1.0gを100gの水に分散し、15h攪拌を行なった後、未溶解分を濾別回収、恒量となるまで減圧乾燥を行なった結果、その乾燥重量は0.99gとなり、本ブロック共重合体が本質的に水に不溶であることが確認された。コーティング層の初期吸水率は72%であり良好な保湿性を示した。また、義歯洗浄剤浸漬試験後の残留コーティング層の割合は98%であった。該サンプルを再度吸湿させた結果、吸水率は72%であり、保湿性が保持されていることがわかった。
ランダム共重合したMPCとMMAとの共重合体(共重合体中のMPC含有率40モル%)をコーティング基材として用いたこと以外は実施例1と同様な評価を行なった。該ランダム共重合体は水に溶解した。従って、コーティング層の初期吸水率はコーティングサンプルの蒸留水浸漬中にコーティング層が剥離してしまったため、測定ができなかった。また、水浸漬後のサンプルを減圧乾燥し、該サンプルを再度吸湿させても吸水率は0.1%であり、保湿性が保持されていないことがわかった。
ランダム共重合したMPCとMMAとの共重合体(共重合体中のMPC含有率20モル%)をコーティング基材として用いたこと以外は実施例1と同様な評価を行なった。該グラフト共重合体は、水に対して膨潤はするものの溶解はしなかった。コーティング層の初期吸水率は66%であり、良好な保湿性を示した。しかしながら、義歯洗浄剤浸漬試験後の残留コーティング層の割合は約4%であり、ほとんどコーティング層が喪失していることがわかった。該サンプルを再度吸湿させても吸水率は1%であり、保湿性が保持されていないことがわかった。
