Abstract
【解決方法】この送受信局は、個々のCDMA通話を信号処理する少なくとも一つのモデムを含む信号処理装置に接続したRF受信機/送信機に接続したアンテナ系を含む。このアンテナ系に複数のアンテナと遅延装置を備え、アンテナ系に起因する既知の歪を有する合成信号を出力するのが好ましい。この合成信号をモデムで信号処理する。モデムは信号利得改善をもたらすように既知の歪を補正する。この改善された信号利得は送信電力削減を可能にし、したがってCDMAシステムの容量を増大させる。アンテナ系を信号処理装置から離して配置する必要がある場合は、RF受信機/送信機とそれ以外の信号処理装置とを別々のユニットにして、RF受信機/送信機ユニットをアンテナ系とともに離して配置する。RF信号および直流電力を上記信号処理装置ユニットからRF受信機/送信機ユニットに供給する長さ少なくとも20フィートの接続ケーブルを備えるのが好ましい。

Description
コミュニケーションズ コーポレーションから市販されている広帯域符号分割多重接続通信システム、またはB-CDMA通信システムは、同一帯域幅で多数の通話を伝送することを可能にし、RFスペクトラムの容量を大幅に増加させる。B-CDMAブランドの通信システムでは、送信機において情報信号を擬似ランダム「拡散符号」と混合し、その拡散符号で通信システムの用いる帯域幅全体にわたって情報信号を拡散する。拡散ずみの信号は送信に備えてRF信号にアップコンバートする。上記擬似ランダム拡散符号で特定される受信機がこのRF信号を受信し、受信機第1段局部発振器で別途発生したRF正弦波信号とこの受信信号とを混合して、スペクトラム拡散信号をダウンコンバートする。次に、スペクトラム拡散情報信号を、同様に受信機でローカルに発生した擬似ランダム拡散符号と混合して原情報信号を得る。

Claims (10)
- CDMA通信システム用の送受信局であって、
CDMA通信信号を受信する複数のアンテナと、
前記アンテナに関連づけられ、合成信号出力用の出力を有する合成器と、
前記複数のアンテナのうち前記合成器に直接に接続された第1のアンテナと、
前記複数のアンテナのうちの第2のアンテナであって、受けた信号に第1の固定遅延を与える第1の遅延装置、すなわち前記合成器に接続され少なくとも前記第1の固定遅延対応の既知の歪を有する合成信号を生じさせる第1の遅延装置と関連づけられた第2のアンテナと
を備えるアンテナ系と、
前記合成器の出力に接続された受信機と、
前記受信機と組み合わされた特有のCDMA符号と関連したここの通信信号を受信するモデムであって、少なくとも前記既知の信号歪を補償する歪補償手段を含むモデムと
を含む送受信局。 - 前記第1のアンテナ以外の前記複数のアンテナの各々が、前記合成器に接続され受信信号に互いに異なる固定遅延を与える対応の遅延装置に関連づけられており、遅延を与えられた信号を前記合成器により前記第1のアンテナの信号と合成し、前記合成器の出力合成信号の前記既知の位相歪が前記固定遅延のすべてに対応する請求項1記載の送受信局。
- 互いに異なる固定遅延の各々が前記合成器の信号出力において相互間で少なくとも2チップ分の位相歪を生ずる請求項2記載の送受信局。
- 前記アンテナ系が三つのアンテナを含み、それらアンテナのうちの第3のアンテナが受信信号に第2の遅延を与える第2の遅延装置と関連づけられ、前記合成器出力の前記既知の位相歪が前記第1および第2の遅延装置の与える所定の遅延に対応する請求項3記載の送受信局。
- 前記第1の遅延装置の与える前記遅延が3チップ分の遅延となり、前記第2の遅延装置の与える遅延が7チップ分の遅延となる請求項4記載の送受信局。
- 前記モデムが、判定結果の信号歪に基づき適応型整合フィルタのためのフィルタ係数を生ずるベクトル相関器であって少なくとも11チップ分の信号処理容量を有し前記既知の歪と前記信号処理容量の範囲内で確認できるマルチパス歪とを補償するベクトル相関器を含み、
前記適応型整合フィルタが前記ベクトル相関器の発生したフィルタ係数を用いて前記特有のCDMA符号で通信信号を信号処理する請求項5記載の送受信局。 - 前記モデムが、前記適応型整合フィルタと関連してそのモデムにより信号処理中の信号の送信元の送受信局への伝送用に送信電力制御信号を発生する送信電力自動制御手段をさらに含む請求項6記載の送受信局。
- 前記複数のアンテナを互いに少なくとも6波長ずつ隔てて配置した請求項4記載の送受信局。
- 前記複数のアンテナを互いに3ヤード以下ずつ隔てて配置した請求項4記載の送受信局。
- 前記受信機および前記モデムを物理的に互いに別個のユニットに配置し、前記モデムを前記受信機に接続しその受信機に電力を供給するケーブルをさらに含む請求項4記載の送受信局。
固定位置の複数の基地局を有するCDMA通信システムの中の加入者局ユニットの地理的位置を特定する方法であって、
(a)第1の擬似ランダムチップ符号系列による第1のスペクトラム拡散信号を一つの基地局から送信する過程と、
(b)第1のマルチパス成分を含む前記第1のスペクトラム拡散信号を前記加入者局ユニットにおいて受信する過程と、
(c)受信した前記第1のマルチパス成分の第1の受信成分を算定する過程と、
(d)前記受信した第1のスペクトラム拡散信号と同期した第2の擬似ランダムチップ符号系列による第2のスペクトラム拡散信号を前記加入者局ユニットから送信する過程と、
(e)第2のマルチパス成分を含む前記第2のスペクトラム拡散信号を前記基地局において受信する過程と、
(f)前記受信した第2のマルチパス成分の第1の受信成分を算定する過程と、
(g)前記第2のスペクトラム拡散信号の前記第1の受信成分に基づいて前記基地局と前記加入者局ユニットとの間の距離を算定する過程と、
(h)前記距離の算定に基づき前記加入者局ユニットの地理的位置を特定する過程と
を含む方法。
