Abstract
【解決手段】複数のデータ線SEGm及び複数の走査線COMnの交点に各々配置された有機EL素子PEm,nを駆動するパネル表示装置の駆動回路であって、本発明のパネル表示装置の駆動回路は、有機EL素子PEm,nの負荷容量が発光に必要な電圧値にチャージされるまでの立ち上がり期間に選択されたデータ線SEGmをデータ線電源30と接続する電圧制御回路12と、立ち上がり期間後、データ線SEGmを定電流源11と接続する駆動制御回路10とを有する。

Description
(例えば、特許文献1参照)。
ディスチャージ期間P1において、有機EL素子PEm,nにかかる負荷電荷をリセットし、チャージ期間P2において、1走査線をON状態にし、接続する選択された有機EL素子PEm,nを発光させる。
本発明の第2の実施形態では、第1の実施形態と異なり、ディスチャージをHレベルで実施することが特徴となる。

Claims (15)
- 複数のデータ線及び複数の走査線の交点に各々配置された発光素子を駆動するパネル表示装置の駆動回路であって、
前記発光素子の負荷容量が発光に必要な電圧値にチャージされるまでの立ち上がり期間に選択された前記データ線を前記電源電位と接続する電圧制御回路と、
前記立ち上がり期間後、前記データ線を前記定電流源と接続する駆動制御回路と、を有することを特徴とするパネル表示装置の駆動回路。 - 前記データ線毎に定電流源と接地電位のいずれか一つに接続する第1のスイッチ回路と、
前記走査線毎に電源電位と接地電位のいずれか一つに接続する第2のスイッチ回路と、
前記データ線毎に電源電位と接続する第3のスイッチ回路と、
前記第1及び第2のスイッチ回路の切り替えにより、前記発光素子の選択、非選択を実行する前記駆動制御回路と、
第3のスイッチ回路SWvmを用いて、選択的にデータ線SEGmと電源電位Vddとの接続を制御する前記電圧制御回路と、を有することを特徴とする請求項1記載のパネル表示装置の駆動回路。 - 前記発光素子の選択時、前記走査線を前記接地線に接続した状態で、前記データ線を前記電源電位に接続し、
所定期間後、前記データ線を前記定電流源と接続し、
前記発光素子の非選択時、前記走査線を前記電源電位に接続した状態で、前記データ線を前記接地線に接続することを特徴とする請求項1記載のパネル表示装置の駆動回路。 - 全ての複数の前記データ線及び複数の前記走査線を接地電位に接続しリセットする工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載のパネル表示装置の駆動回路。
- 前記駆動制御回路はPMOSトランジスタとNMOSトランジスタからなることを特徴とする請求項1記載のパネル表示装置の駆動回路。
- 前記発光素子は有機EL素子であることを特徴とする請求項1記載のパネル表示装置の駆動回路。
- 前記立ち上がり電圧制御回路は設定データレジスタ回路とカウンタ回路からなることを特徴とする請求項1記載のパネル表示装置の駆動回路。
- 前記立ち上がり期間前にディスチャージ期間を有し、前記ディスチャージ期間において、前記発光素子の負荷容量をリセットすることを特徴とする請求項1記載のパネル表示装置の駆動回路。
- 前記リセットは全ての複数の前記データ線及び複数の前記走査線を接地電位に接続することを特徴とする請求項8記載のパネル表示装置の駆動方法。
- 複数のデータ線及び複数の走査線の交点に各々配置された発光素子を駆動するパネル表示装置の駆動方法であって、
前記発光素子の負荷容量が発光に必要な電圧値にチャージされるまでの立ち上がり期間に選択された前記データ線を前記電源電位と接続し、
前記立ち上がり期間後、前記データ線を前記定電流源と接続することを特徴とするパネル表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記立ち上がり期間前にディスチャージ期間を有し、前記ディスチャージ期間において、前記発光素子の負荷容量をリセットすることを特徴とする請求項10記載のパネル表示装置の駆動方法。
- 前記リセットは全ての複数の前記データ線及び複数の前記走査線を接地電位に接続することを特徴とする請求項11記載のパネル表示装置の駆動方法。
- 前記発光素子の選択時、前記走査線を前記接地線に接続した状態で、前記データ線を前記電源電位に接続し、所定期間後、前記データ線を前記定電流源と接続し、
前記発光素子の非選択時、前記走査線を前記電源電位に接続した状態で、前記データ線を前記接地線に接続することを特徴とする請求項10記載のパネル表示装置の駆動方法。 - 全ての複数の前記データ線及び複数の前記走査線を接地電位に接続しリセットする工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項13記載のパネル表示装置の駆動方法。
- ディスチャージをHレベルで実施することを特徴とする請求項10記載のパネル表示装置の駆動方法。
