Abstract
【解決手段】 本発明に係る有機電界発光素子は,基板と,第1電極層,第2電極層及び前記第1電極層と前記第2電極層との間に配置された有機発光部を備え,前記基板の一方の面に形成された有機電界発光部と,前記有機電界発光部を介して前記基板と密封される封止基板と,前記封止基板のうち有機電界発光部に対向する一方の面に粘着層,透明高分子層及び透明吸湿層からなる封止層を備える。

Description
メタノール95gに硝酸を付加してpH2に調節した後,ここにCaO粉末5gを入れた後,3時間以上攪拌してゾル状の混合物を準備した。
まず,Ca粉末としてCa蒸着源を準備し,透明高分子層としてポリメチルメタクリレートフィルムを準備した。次いで,Ca蒸着源,前記Ca蒸着源を搭載できる熱蒸発源,透明高分子層ホルダー及び前記透明高分子層ホルダーを回転させる役割を行う回転シャフトを備える真空チャンバーを準備した。前記熱蒸発源としては,ヘリシス(Helisys,ANS社製)を使用した。前記Ca蒸着源に対向するように配置された基板ホルダーに,前記準備された透明高分子層を搭載した後,下記表1に表したような条件下で,前記真空チャンバーを作動させて50μmのCaO層を透明高分子層の一面に形成した。
前記素子1及び2を作動させて封止基板を通じた投光率を評価した。投光率の評価は,MCPD7000(PHOTAL,大塚電子(株)製)下で作動させて測定した。その結果,素子1及び2全て95%以上の投光率を示した。
前記素子1及び2の輝度特性を評価した。図2は,素子1及び2の時間による輝度の変化を表すグラフである。図2には,従来の背面発光型ゲッタを備える有機電界発光素子の輝度特性も比較例として示した。前記素子1及び2は,900時間が経過しても輝度の低下が発見されなかったが,比較例は,600時間経過後には輝度が半減する結果を示した。これにより,本発明の実施例による素子1及び2は,長期間経過後にも輝度の低下が発見されていないなど,輝度安定性を有することが分かる。
前記素子1について寿命特性を評価した。寿命特性は,素子1を70℃の温度及び90%の湿度下に置いた後,ダークスポットの発生を評価することによって行われた。図3Aは,初期素子1の写真を表すものであり,図3Bは,寿命特性の評価から984時間経過した後の素子1の写真を表すものであり,図4は,984時間経過した後の素子1のピクセル画像を表すものである。図3Bによれば,984時間経過した後にも素子1には新たなダークスポットがほとんど発生していない。また,発生したダークスポットは,そのサイズが10μm以下に過ぎず,非常に小さいということが分かる。これは,984時間経過した後の素子1のピクセル画像を表す図4からも確認できる。これにより,本発明の実施例による素子1の吸湿層は,長期間の硬化後にも優秀な吸湿能力を有して,これを採用した有機電界発光素子は,長寿命を有することが分かる。

Claims (15)
- 基板と;
第1電極層,第2電極層及び前記第1電極層と前記第2電極層との間に配置された有機発光部を備え,前記基板の一方の面に形成された有機電界発光部と;
前記有機電界発光部の周囲を覆うように前記基板と直接的又は間接的に密着される封止基板と;
前記封止基板のうち有機電界発光部と対向する面に,粘着層,透明高分子層及び透明吸湿層からなる封止層と;
を備えることを特徴とする,有機電界発光素子。 - 前記粘着層は,アクリル系接着剤からなることを特徴とする,請求項1に記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 前記透明高分子層は,ポリエステル系高分子,ポリカーボネート系高分子,ポリスチレン系高分子またはアクリル系高分子のうち少なくとも1種からなることを特徴とする,請求項1に記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 前記透明吸湿層は,100nm以下の多孔性粒子からなることを特徴とする,請求項1に記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 前記多孔性粒子は,平均粒径が100nm以下のアルカリ金属酸化物,アルカリ土類金属酸化物,金属ハロゲン化物,金属硫酸塩及び金属過塩素酸塩からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種であることを特徴とする,請求項4に記載の有機電界発光素子。
- 粘着層,透明高分子層及び透明吸湿層からなる封止層を形成する段階と;
封止基板に前記封止層を付着する段階と;
前記封止層が付着された封止基板と,第1電極層,第2電極層及び前記第1電極層と前記第2電極層との間に配置された有機発光部を含む有機電界発光部が形成された基板のうち,少なくとも一方にシーラントを提供する段階と;
前記封止基板と有機電界発光部が形成された基板とを封着する段階と;
を含むことを特徴とする,有機電界発光素子の製造方法。 - 前記封止層形成段階は,
透明高分子層を形成する段階と;
前記透明高分子層の一方の面に透明吸湿層を形成する段階と;
前記透明高分子層のうち前記透明吸湿層が形成されていない方の面に粘着層を形成する段階と;
からなることを特徴とする,請求項6に記載の有機電界発光素子の製造方法。 - 前記透明吸湿層形成段階は,
100nm以下の多孔性粒子を溶媒及び酸と混合して得たゾル状の透明吸湿層形成用の組成物を提供する段階と;
前記透明吸湿層形成用の組成物を前記透明高分子層に塗布する段階と;
前記透明高分子層に塗布された透明吸湿層形成用の組成物を焼成する段階と;
からなることを特徴とする,請求項7に記載の有機電界発光素子の製造方法。 - 前記多孔性粒子は,平均粒径が100nm以下であるアルカリ金属酸化物,アルカリ土類金属酸化物,金属ハロゲン化物,金属硫酸塩及び金属過塩素酸塩からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種であることを特徴とする,請求項8に記載の有機電界発光素子の製造方法。
- 前記溶媒は,メタノール,エタノール,プロパノール,ブタノール,イソプロパノール,メチルエチルケトン,純水,プロピレングリコール(モノ)メチルエーテル(PGM),イソプロピルセルロース(IPC),メチレンクロライド(MC),エチレンカーボネート(EC)からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種であることを特徴とする,請求項8に記載の有機電界発光素子の製造方法。
- 前記酸は,硝酸,塩酸,硫酸,酢酸からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種であることを特徴とする,請求項8に記載の有機電界発光素子の製造方法。
- 前記ゾル状の透明吸湿層形成用の組成物のうち,溶媒の含量は,前記多孔性粒子100重量部を基準として60〜99重量部であり,酸の含量は,前記多孔性粒子100重量部を基準として0.01〜0.1重量部であることを特徴とする,請求項8に記載の有機電界発光素子の製造方法。
- 前記透明吸湿層形成段階は,蒸着法を利用して行われることを特徴とする,請求項7に記載の有機電界発光素子の製造方法。
- 前記シーラントは,熱硬化性樹脂またはUV硬化性樹脂であることを特徴とする,請求項6に記載の有機電界発光素子の製造方法。
- 前記封止基板と前記基板との封着段階は,減圧工程と,UV照射工程と,熱硬化工程とを含むことを特徴とする,請求項6に記載の有機電界発光素子の製造方法。
