Abstract
【解決手段】 発光表示装置の画素回路において,キャパシタは,一方の電極が第1トランジスタのゲートに接続されている。第1スイッチング素子は,第1制御信号の第1レベルに応答して駆動トランジスタをダイオード接続状態とする。第2スイッチング素子は,第2制御信号の第2レベルに応答して駆動トランジスタの第1主電極から出力された電流を発光素子に供給する。発光素子は,第2スイッチング素子からの電流に対応して発光する。第1スイッチング素子がオンした状態で,第1期間,第2スイッチング素子がオンし,第1期間の後で第2スイッチング素子がオフする。第1スイッチング素子がオフした状態で第2スイッチング素子がオンする。第1期間は0.05μsより長く2.5μsより短いことが好ましい。

Claims (15)
- 選択信号を伝達する複数の走査線,データ信号を伝達する複数のデータ線,および前記走査線と前記データ線に各々接続される複数の画素回路を含む発光表示装置であって,
前記各画素回路は,
第1トランジスタと;
一方の電極が前記第1トランジスタのゲートに接続される第1キャパシタと;
前記第1トランジスタのゲートと前記第1トランジスタの第1主電極との間に電気的に接続され,第1制御信号の第1レベルに応答してオンして前記第1トランジスタをダイオード接続状態とする第1スイッチング素子と;
入力される電流に対応する輝度で発光する発光素子と;
第2制御信号の第2レベルに応答してオンし,前記第1トランジスタの第1主電極から出力された電流を前記発光素子に伝達する第2スイッチング素子と;
を含み,
前記第1スイッチング素子がオンした状態で,第1期間,前記第2スイッチング素子がオンした状態を維持し,前記第1期間の経過後に前記第2スイッチング素子がオフし,その後前記第1スイッチング素子がオフしてから前記第2スイッチング素子がオンすることを特徴とする,発光表示装置。 - 前記第1期間は,0.05μsより長時間であることを特徴とする,請求項1に記載の発光表示装置。
- 前記第1期間は,2.5μsより短時間であることを特徴とする,請求項1に記載の発光表示装置。
- さらに,前記画素回路は,
前記選択信号の第3レベルに応答してオンし,前記データ信号を前記第1キャパシタの他方の電極に伝達する第3スイッチング素子と;
一方の電極が第1電源線に電気的に接続され,他方の電極が前記第1キャパシタの他方の電極に接続される第2キャパシタと;
第3制御信号の第4レベルに応答してオンし,前記第2キャパシタに並列的に接続される第4スイッチング素子と;
を含むことを特徴とする,請求項2または3に記載の発光表示装置。 - 前記第1制御信号は,前記選択信号の以前に入力される直前選択信号であり,
前記第1レベルは,前記第3レベルと論理的に同一のレベルであることを特徴とする,請求項4に記載の発光表示装置。 - 前記第3制御信号は,前記第1制御信号と同一の信号であり,
前記第4レベルは,前記第1レベルと論理的に同一のレベルであることを特徴とする,請求項4に記載の発光表示装置。 - 前記第1スイッチング素子および第4スイッチング素子がオフ状態であり,前記第3スイッチング素子がオフ状態のときに,前記第2スイッチング素子がオンすることを特徴とする,請求項6に記載の発光表示装置。
- 前記第3レベルの前記直前選択信号が入力された第2期間の後で,前記第3レベルの選択信号が入力されることを特徴とする,請求項6に記載の発光表示装置。
- さらに,前記各画素回路は,
前記選択信号の第3レベルに応答してオンし,前記データ信号を前記第1トランジスタの第2主電極に伝達する第3スイッチング素子と;
前記第4制御信号の第5レベルに応答してオンし,前記第3スイッチング素子を通じて伝達された前記データ信号を前記第1キャパシタの他方の電極に伝達する第4スイッチング素子と;
を含むことを特徴とする,請求項2または3に記載の発光表示装置。 - 前記第1制御信号と第4制御信号のうち少なくとも一方は前記選択信号であることを特徴とする,請求項9に記載の発光表示装置。
- さらに,前記各画素回路は,
前記選択信号の第3レベルに応答してオンし,前記データ信号を前記第1キャパシタの他方の電極に伝達する第3スイッチング素子と;
一方の電極が第1電源線に電気的に接続され,他方の電極が前記第1キャパシタの一方の電極に接続される第2キャパシタと;
を含むことを特徴とする,請求項2または3に記載の発光表示装置。 - 第1電極が第1電源に接続されるキャパシタ,前記キャパシタの第2電極にゲートが接続される駆動トランジスタ,前記駆動トランジスタからの電流に基づいて発光する発光素子を含む発光表示装置を駆動する方法であって,
a)前記駆動トランジスタをダイオード形態で接続した状態で,前記駆動トランジスタからの電流を前記発光素子に伝達する段階と;
b)前記発光素子と前記駆動トランジスタの電気的な接続が切れる段階と;
c)前記第1電源を前記駆動トランジスタのソースに接続した状態で,駆動トランジスタからの電流を前記発光素子に伝達する段階と;
を含み,
前記a)段階は,少なくとも0.05μsより長時間行われることを特徴とする,発光表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記a)段階は,2.5μsより短時間で行われることを特徴とする,請求項12に記載の発光表示装置の駆動方法。
- さらに,前記b)段階と前記c)段階との間に,データ信号を前記キャパシタに伝達する段階を含むことを特徴とする,請求項12に記載の発光表示装置の駆動方法。
- さらに,前記b)段階の中に,データ信号を前記キャパシタに伝達する段階を含むことを特徴とする,請求項12に記載の発光表示装置の駆動方法。
