Claims (10)
- 燃料電池システムの効率を向上させる方法であって、前記システムが、アノード及びカソードを有しある種の電流密度で全出力動作を行うように設計される燃料電池と、前記燃料電池を流れる液体の冷却剤と、前記冷却剤から熱を抽出する熱交換器と、前記燃料電池によってエネルギーが与えられて、前記冷却剤を前記燃料電池と前記熱交換器との間でポンピングするポンプとを含む、方法であって、
前記方法が、燃料を前記アノードに供給する工程と、酸化剤を前記カソードに供給する工程と、前記全出力の電流密度の25%未満の電流密度で、前記燃料電池から電流を引き出す工程と、前記電流を引き出しながら、ある時間間隔で前記ポンピングを中断する工程と、前記時間間隔中に前記燃料電池の温度が当該燃料電池の能力を低下させない温度まで上昇することを許容する工程と、前記時間間隔の終端で前記ポンピングを開始する工程とを含み、それによって、前記時間間隔中に前記システムに掛かる前記ポンプの寄生的負荷を除去して、前記システムの効率を向上させる、方法。 - 燃料電池システムの効率を向上させる方法であって、前記システムが、アノード及びカソードを有するある種の電流密度で全出力動作を行うように設計されたPEM燃料電池と、前記燃料電池を流れる液体の冷却剤と、前記冷却剤から熱を抽出する熱交換器と、前記燃料電池によってエネルギーが与えられて、前記冷却剤を前記燃料電池と前記熱交換器との間でポンピングするポンプとを含む、方法であって、
前記方法が、燃料を前記アノードに供給する工程と、酸化剤を前記カソードに供給する工程と、約0.2A/cm2未満の電流密度で、前記燃料電池から電流を引き出す工程と、前記電流を引き出しながら、ある時間間隔で前記ポンピングを中断する工程と、前記時間間隔中に前記燃料電池の温度が当該燃料電池の能力を低下させない温度まで上昇することを許容する工程と、前記時間間隔の終端で前記ポンピングを開始する工程とを含み、それによって、前記時間間隔中に前記システムに掛かる前記ポンプの寄生的負荷を除去して、前記システムの効率を向上させる、方法。 - 前記温度が、所定の第1の温度まで上昇できるようにされ、前記第1の温度になると、前記ポンピングの前記開始が始まる、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の温度が、前記カソードを出る前記酸化剤の温度である、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の温度が、前記アノードを出る前記燃料の温度である、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記時間間隔が、前もって設定された継続時間を有する、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記カソードを出る前記酸化剤の温度が、前記燃料電池を出る前記冷却剤の温度の約2度以内である時、前記ポンピングの前記中断が始まる、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記アノードを出る前記燃料の温度が、前記燃料電池を出る前記冷却剤の温度の約2度以内である時、前記ポンピングの前記中断が始まる、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記電流を監視する工程と、前記燃料電池から引き出された電流が前記約0.2A/cm2からかけ離れた低い電流密度を生じるようなものである時に前記時間間隔の継続時間をより長く、また前記燃料電池から引き出された電流が前記約0.2A/cm2付近の高い電流密度を生じるようなものである時に前記時間間隔の継続時間をより短く、調整する工程とを含む、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 燃料電池システムの効率を向上させる方法であって、前記システムが、アノード及びカソードを有するある種の電流密度で全出力動作を行うように設計された燃料電池と、前記燃料電池を流れる液体の冷却剤と、前記冷却剤から熱を抽出する熱交換器と、前記燃料電池によってエネルギーが与えられて、前記熱交換器に空気を流すモータ駆動の扇風器と、前記燃料電池によってエネルギーが与えられて、前記冷却剤を前記燃料電池と前記熱交換器との間でポンピングするポンプとを含む、方法であって、
前記方法が、燃料を前記アノードに供給する工程と、酸化剤を前記カソードに供給する工程と、前記全出力の電流密度の25%未満の電流密度で、前記燃料電池から電流を引き出す工程と、前記電流を引き出しながら、ある時間間隔で前記ポンプ及びモータ駆動の扇風器を停止させる工程と、前記時間間隔の間、前記燃料電池の温度が前記燃料電池の能力を低下させない温度まで上昇することを許容する工程と、前記時間間隔の終端で前記ポンピングを開始する工程とを含み、それによって、前記時間間隔中に前記システムに掛かる前記ポンプ及び前記扇風器の寄生的負荷を除去して、前記システムの効率を向上させる、方法。
