水(173g)を、必要な補助装置を備えた5L実験用反応フラスコに仕込んだ。このフラスコを窒素で置換し、80℃に加熱した。2,2′−アゾビス(アミジノプロパン)二塩酸塩(0.75g)を反応フラスコに加えた後、ビニルピロリドン(150g)と水(150g)をそれぞれ3時間および3.5時間にわたり、同時に添加した。添加が完了するとただちに、反応器内容物をさらに1時間、80℃に維持した後、冷却して濾過した。標題のコポリマーを、250cP(Brookfield RVT、20rpm、スピンドル3)の粘度を有し、かつ遊離モノマーレベル50ppm以下を有する30%水溶液として得た。
例A1
使用した市販のポリマーおよびバインダーは、ゼラチン(Imagel8396、Kind and Knox)、およびポリビニルアルコール(PVOH、KH20、日本合成)である。ホモポリマーであるポリビニルピロリドン(PVP)を、例P5に従って合成した。
一般手順:
蒸留水(90g)をガラス容器に計り入れ、実験用ミキサーで激しく攪拌した。固体のポリマー粉末(10g)をゆっくりと添加した。その後、生じたスラリーを、攪拌しながら80℃に加熱した。その温度で攪拌を45分間継続し、その時間の後、熱源を取り除き、澄明な溶液を冷却した。
蒸留水(90g)をガラス容器に計り入れ、実験用ミキサーで激しく攪拌した。ゼラチン(10g)をゆっくりと添加した。その後、生じたスラリーを、攪拌しながら60℃に加熱した。その温度で攪拌を20分間継続し、その時間の後、熱源を取り除き、澄明な溶液を冷却した。
イエロー、マゼンタおよびシアンのカラーブロックを、HP970 Cxi デスクジェットプリンターを用いて、本試料の上に印刷した。X-Rite TR938スペクトロホトメーターを用いて、カラーブロックの初期反射率光学濃度およびCIELAB色空間測定値(L*、a*、b*)を測定した。得られた印刷を、キセノンアークランプおよび内外にホウケイ酸フィルターを取り付けたAtlas Ci65ウェザロメーター中、異なる時間間隔で暴露した。暴露条件は、340nmで出力=0.35W/m2、相対湿度=50%、温度=50℃であった。各暴露期間の後、X riteスペクトロホトメーターを用いて、最終の反射率光学濃度およびCIELAB色空間測定を行った。ΔE値に加えて、光学濃度のパーセント損失(%ΔOD)を記録した。ΔODおよびΔEは、以下のようにして算出した。

多孔性コーティング配合物
すべての配合物は、バインダーに対する顔料の比率7:1をもち、完全に水性である。典型的なコーティング組成物は、顔料(Grace Davison, Sylojet 703C、固形分19%)50.1部、バインダー(すべてのバインダーポリマーは、10%水性溶液である)13.6部、および場合により、安定剤0.08部、0.16部または0.32部からなる。成分を合わせ、実験用ミキサーで20分間混合した。
イエロー、マゼンタおよびシアンのカラーブロックを、HP Desk Jet 970 Cxiを用いて、コーティングに印刷した。初期のCIELAB色空間および反射率光学濃度の測定を、X-Rite 938スペクトロデンシトメーターを用いて行った。試料を、100cfmの一定の空気流の下で、室内蛍光の光源から3歩の距離でエージングさせた。2ヵ月の暴露後、CIELAB色空間および反射率光学濃度の測定を繰り返した。相対湿度および温度は、周囲の実験室の条件であり、測定せず、また変更もなかった。

Claims (22)
- 支持材および1個以上のコーティング層をその上に含むインクジェット記録媒体システムであって、コーティング層の少なくとも1個が、式:

- 界面活性剤、帯電防止剤、増粘剤、懸濁化剤、pH調節化合物、光安定剤、酸化防止剤、湿潤剤、静菌剤、架橋剤および蛍光増白剤からなる群より選択される1種以上の添加剤をさらに含む、請求項1記載のインクジェット記録媒体システム。
- 前記添加剤が、フェノール系酸化防止剤、ヒドロキシベンゾトリアゾール紫外線吸収剤、ベンゾフェノン紫外線吸収剤、ヒドロキシフェニルトリアジン紫外線吸収剤およびヒンダードアミン光安定剤からなる群より選択される、請求項15記載の記録媒体システム。
