Abstract
【解決手段】 シール材内側近傍領域5における両基板1、2間に配置された柱状スペーサの配置密度は、シール材内側中央領域4における両基板1、2間に配置された柱状スペーサの配置密度よりも適宜に高くなっている。この結果、加圧加熱により熱硬化性樹脂からなるシール材3を硬化させるとき、シール材内側近傍領域5に配置された柱状スペーサの各1本にかかる圧力がシール材内側中央領域4に配置された柱状スペーサの各1本にかかる圧力とほぼ同じとなり、ひいてはシール材内側近傍領域5に配置された柱状スペーサがシール材内側中央領域4に配置された柱状スペーサとほぼ同じようにつぶれ、したがってシール材内側近傍領域5に基板間ギャップむらが発生しにくいようにすることができる。

Claims (7)
- 2枚の基板が枠状のシール材を介して貼り合わされ、且つ、前記シール材の内側における前記2枚の基板間に基板間キャップを規制するための柱状スペーサが介在された液晶表示装置において、前記シール材の内側近傍における前記柱状スペーサの配置密度はそれより内側の領域における前記柱状スペーサの配置密度よりも高くなっていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
- 請求項1に記載の発明において、前記シール材の外側における前記2枚の基板間に前記柱状スペーサと同一の柱状スペーサが前記シール材の内側近傍における前記柱状スペーサの配置密度とほぼ同じ配置密度で介在されていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
- 請求項1に記載の発明において、前記2枚の基板を貼り合わせるシール材が形成された領域にはスペーサが配置されていないことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
- 請求項1に記載の発明において、前記2枚の基板の一方は、画素電極がマトリクス状に配列されたアクティブ基板であり、他方は対向基板であり、前記柱状スペーサは前記シール材の内側近傍において1画素につき複数個の配置密度であることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
- 請求項4に記載の発明において、前記前記シール材の内側近傍より内側において、1画素につき1個の柱状スペーサの配置密度の領域を有することを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
- 2枚の基板が枠状のシール材を介して貼り合わされ、且つ、前記シール材の内側および外側における前記2枚の基板間に基板間キャップを規制するための柱状スペーサが介在された液晶表示装置において、前記シール材の外側における前記柱状スペーサの配置密度は前記シール材の内側における前記柱状スペーサの配置密度よりも高くなっていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
- 請求項6に記載の発明において、前記2枚の基板を貼り合わせるシール材が形成された領域にはスペーサが配置されていないことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
